Offensive support cast ranked 31st in the league
Gerry Green replied to panthers55's topic in Carolina Panthers
This team is not like those teams. This team is set up to compete. Just because other QBs struggle their rookie year, does not automatically mean Bryce will. Bryce could win ROY and that would make us very competitive. OH, and Brown had a very good year last year. -

I guess it all comes down to do you trust this coaching staff to get the best out the players? I just don't see how you can look at this staff and not see what they can bring. -

Football is such a weird game. Rarely are things the same year to year. Trying to put absolutes on anything is a fool's errand. We could start out decent and get too good. We could start out good and get to pretty good. Or, we could be gangbusters all stinkin year. The possibilities are endless. -

It's never a bad time to find something to nitpick over. lol IF you are a Panther fan and you aren't excited for what is coming??? I would much prefer to be excited and hopeful. It's much better for the body and soul I tell ya what. -
So, you've gone from a shoulda, coulda, woulda strategy to worst case scenario. At least you're adaptable.
-
Ah, playing the victim. "That's a bold strategy Cotton. let's see if it works for him.
-
Fingers crossed!!! IMO, if everyone plays up to their potential, or even better. This team can be scary.

There is a rule around here. You can say anything you want. And if you get called out. You just ignore it and move on. If you watch. It's mostly the ones trying to be negative that use this strategy. Being snarky is so much easier when you aren't worried about all those pesky facts.

Young is officially the starting QB.

I will give Rhule credit for one thing. The talent level on this team is miles ahead of where it was when he got here. He just never really figured out how to get the very best out of them. -
Of that list? I'll stick with Andy. He really has had a decent career. I was one of those that did not want Cam. But man, did he wind up being something. The most exciting player on the field every week, and just a joy to witness. This year, I did not want Bryce. But man, everything I've heard about him has been glowingly positive. Fingers crossed the future works out the same. With the added hope of a longer career. Cam was a joy to behold. Let's hope Bryce can come close to replicating that.

I think I speak for most folks when I say; First, we believe you. And second, oh we are judging you. Hard. lol

Irony is being on a message board, then getting all upset when someone responds to your post. lol Maybe you should, oh I don't know, maybe google "Message Board". That should give you an idea of how this all works. Oh, and thanks for letting me have the last word. I know it's an important part of the give and take. So, thanks for that. Damm, I love this place. -

Rage on lol -
Like a Pit Bull with a bone. You just have to ride it out until it loses interest. lol

Yeah, I'm good. I said my piece. Should have followed my own advice and stayed away though.
-
It's been a couple of days since I read this thread. Do we still want him?
-
Nevermind. Sorry I even got involved. You've poo pooed every reasonable answer you have been given. You want Hopkins. We get it. You've made it abundantly clear. And yet it hasn't happened? Maybe because it's not going to happen. Sorry. And yes, every person that doesn't agree with you strives for mediocrity.
-
IMO, there are 2 reasons we haven't signed Hopkins. 1. They ARE happy with how our WR corp is looking. 2. If you are going to spend money on a WR at this point in time. Get one that can maybe have an actual career with Bryce? We have to see what we have before we start tinkering with the roster.

AIn't that the bloody truth. Any slight, whether real or imagined can set them off. Although I will admit we have some who are so bad at it, it's a form of entertainment all its own. lol -

Dude, with all due respect. Nobody cares. You are preaching to an empty choir. -
lol Delusional? How dramatic. If you wish to obsess over events that won't happen for almost 2 months, have at it. Me? I'm interested in things going on right now. After all the negativity the last few years. It's nice to have something optimistic to hang my hat on. And I sure as heck ain't gonna waste my excitement worrying about something that's 2 months down the line.

Bryce Young Scouted Frank Reich pre-draft

I'll readily admit that I'm excited as all get out. And that I have been trying to get others excited as well. So, in a way I am trying to tell folks how to fan. However, I am doing so out of happiness. I want my fellow Huddlers to be as happy as I, and a whole lot of others, are. Unlike the "You need to slow your roll crowd" who seem to be doing so out of some self-serving need to steer the narrative to their whim. They are doing so for themselves. Whereas us "Let's party like it's 1999 crowd" are doing so to share excitement with others.
