  1. You obviously don't read a lot of the stuff you write. You should. It's...entertaining.
  2. I bet you were an only child, or maybe the youngest. Cuz you're a smarty-pants that enjoys telling folks how to be a truly proper fan.
  3. Hey, I can't do all the heavy lifting. I'm going to need some input from others. lol
  4. Wow. Somebody got triggered. lol Nice passive aggressiveness. Classic example Damm dude, it's just the interwebz no need to take it personally, All this because you can't change my mind. lol
  5. Well, I said 18MIL. So, I guess I'm still in the running.
  6. Stop saying you can be a Bust, and still be a good player. They are opposites. That's all well and good but it leaves out one key point. Context. He has never been better than a #3, if that, in his career. Hard to stat pad when you get less targets. It's already been posted in this thread some of the WR/TE he was behind. You claim he has no stats. I claim he wasn't given the opportunity to produce more, A victim of circumstances so it were, I give you your opinion. You enjoy your day. Cuz I am done.
  7. First, there are a bunch of young WR with potential. The only way to bring out that potential is through playing. Second, adding Hops takes what 70+ snaps away from the kids who actually need them. Third, we absolutely need to find out what we have at the WR position. More snaps equal better evaluations. Fourth, if Bryce even come close to ROY, it will be because the WRs as a group pulled their weight. Lastly, as you said, there are far more pressing needs for that money.
  8. Unfortunately, that is what this may come down to. The CBA has to hold the line. No sod, no trod. To bad the next CBA isn't until 2030. So, it may take some drastic measures. Force the NFL to abide by its "We're all for player safety" line. Fingers crossed.
  9. To me? It all comes down to how badly he really wants to play for a non-contender. So...The better the team, the less money he'd need. Conversely, the worse the team? The more money it will take. He's already stated he won't play for a rook, or a non-contender. So, it would cost us close to that 18mil number. He may go for 15mil to a contender. And if no contender calls? He just may sit out. IMO, this is an evaluation year. And Hops doesn't fit that game plan.
  10. Hurst is the most athletic TE we've had in maybe forever. If Bryce even comes close to ROY, I expect it to be in part because Hayden had a really good year.
  11. No one here is saying Hurst is an All Pro candidate. But the numbers show that with more targets, he could be something pretty good. Calling him a Bust because he played second, and third fiddle is rather disingenuous.
  12. I don't see a Bust having a 75% catch rate. I don't see a Bust turning 55% of those catches into 1st downs, I don't see a Bust getting a 3 year deal. But hey, maybe that's just me.
  13. He catches almost 75% of his targets. If he had gotten targeted more, obviously, those stats would look so much better. I think the most important part is his catch%. He is a safe safety valve.
  14. Same story, different versions. And all are true. I just don't see it. Hops coming here for peanuts. I shake my head at that thought. Now...if by the grace of all that is holy, Hops winds up here. I will be both mad, and happy. Mad we wasted that much money instead of developing our own guys. But happy cuz Bryce has him a new toy. Are you happy now?
  15. Honest, sure. Objective? Not so much. You do realize that you just made another definitive statement? Right? Like I said. You're entitled to your opinion. But I would not think many folks around here are of a like mind.
  16. It's nice when someone takes the time to do a deeper dive on these things. Helps one to make a better-informed decision. Hurst may not be top 10. But the guy will defiantly help our Offense. The best TE we've had since Olsen fell off. I will add that if Bryce even sniffs the ROY. We are going to be in good shape come the end of the year.
  17. Sure you cited his bouncing around the league. That's how you define a ''Bust''. And the only stats you provided were his career stats. No context there. I gave you Catch%, 1st down%, his best years stats for comparison of when he actually gets targets. But hey, I guess that's nothing in your eyes eh? I answer your posts. If they are inconvenient to you, maybe look at who is writing them. I am not doing any searches. I don't care about other players. We're talking Hurst here. Ack, I'm dead. Damm hill. People who make definitive statements scare me anyway.
  18. I'm sorry, and I apologize in advance. But...You guys are nuts. You are letting your heart rule your mind. No way Hops signs a 2 year 25mil contract to play here. He is not taking any discounts. I would almost bet he would sit out before he takes a slap in the face money you guys want him to play for.
  19. He was traded for twice. So, he was in demand. LOL at you gaslighting me. I didn't die on this hill. I just didn't agree with you. Classic LG. Your one and only piece of evidence that Hurst is a "Bust" is the fact that he's been on whopping 3 teams in 5 years. 1 of those teams drafted him, the other two wanted him. Nothing "Bust" worthy in there. A lot goes into a Players' stats.
  20. And LOL at triggered. Damm dude you really do use that A LOT. So, if a player has a 10 year career, but never more than a few years with any one team. That's a "Bust"? Not sure how you arrived at that conclusion? Because that pretty much describes most of the NFL. Good players hit the FA market every year. According to your own definition, that makes all of them "Busts" as well, You're entitled to your opinion. Just don't expect folks to automatically agree with it.
  21. He catches nearly 75% of his targets. Averages a 1st down on 53% of those catches. Sounds to me like all he needs is more targets. His first year in Atl he had 88 targets, 56 catches, for 571 yards and 6 TDs. Yep, more targets equal better stats. Imagine that.
  22. i concur wholeheartedly. We have way too many kids on this team that we just don't know what we truly have. This year is an evaluation type year. Find out what we have, where we can improve. Then next year put the rest of the pieces together. I know folks are in a hurry. But his team is not ready for a Hopkins and his 18mil contract.
  23. So his stats don't matter? Just the number of teams he's been on? Weird way of gauging someone's talent. But hey, this is the interwebz.
