The rule used to be; Attack the post, not the poster. Now it's just Attack. Civility and common courtesy have gone by the wayside. Nowadays it's throw out an insult, then spend two paragraphs explaining why you're stupid. There is still good conversation to be had. But even in those you have to navigate around folks trying to derail the whole darn thing. And it's showing by how few ppl are actually posting anymore. The most exciting time in a while, and the talk should revolve around that. Instead, it's like a battlefield in here.

What's the use of having a rookie QB on the cheap if you aren't going to pay your best players? Or do you plan on using it in FA and letting all our home-grown talent walk? I think most folks would prefer the former.

I'm sorry, but it's not just the visitors who are creating havoc. And I don't remember the summer traffic ever being this slow. People are just tired of the snarky azz negativity. The insults and snark are what brought down the Observer forum. And it is happening here as we speak. Just look at the bottom of the front page. It used to be filled with names of folks visiting. Nowadays? The list is really really short. It's a harbinger of things to come.

Can Bryce Young lead Panthers to a deep playoff run?
Gerry Green replied to NAS's topic in Carolina Panthers
I have no doubt in my mind whatsoever that Bryce is going to reverse those numbers. And if he does, and our D plays rather well. This could be a really interesting season. Fingers Crossed lol -
Read the last two pages of this thread and you suddenly realize why there's only 17 ppl on the whole Huddle. Pretty soon this place will go the way of the Observer forum. The inmates are now running the show. Prepare for the end.

Not gonna lie. I..like it. Pretty fair spot, and spot on analysis. Hurrah for the home team.

Oh, I'm sorry. I just don't care anymore. This all started because you basically claimed Burns doesn't deserve to be ranked 7th. I said then, and I'll say it again. You have your opinion. And the rest of us have another. I'll take the word of ppl who are actually in the NFL over yours. It just proves my point that too many Panther fans undervalue their own players.
-
So you actually didn't read the thread then did you? There are more than a few ppl that claim as he sucks in run support he is rated too highly. Typical fans undervaluing our own player stuff. And I agree. Most are happy and proud of Burns. It's just the vocal minority who are dismissive of his accomplishments.

Sanders talks about running backs being devalued
Gerry Green replied to panthers55's topic in Carolina Panthers
You needing a statement about a dildo sure does explain a lot. -
Or you run on 1st down and get stuffed, throw on 2nd down and it misses. You are still at 3rd and long. Lot's of ways to get to 3rd and long. Lot's of ways to get to 3rd and short. Long story short. It's mcht quicker to move down the field passing the ball than running the ball. If running the ball is so great? What's up with the Titans. Great RB, decent QB, decent D. Yet always the Brides' maid and never the bride.
-
If you rush for 200 yd. You may score 2-3 TDs, and it takes forever to run that many plays. If you pass for 300-400 yards you may score 3-4 TDs, and it doesn't take nearly as much time off the clock. It is absolutely more important to stop the pass than it is to stop the run. Running is nice and all. But it's the passing game that puts yards and TDs on the stat sheet. Edit to add; A great RB can get you 1500 yds and maybe 14 TDs. A good QB can double those TDs. Yeah, I want the QB driven team. Which means the other teams D had better get pressure on the passer.
-
Yupperz. You hear it all the time. Play the run on the way to the QB. Who cares if you get gouged for a 10yd run. Stopping the pass is far more important than worrying about a 5-10 yard run. I'd much rather my opponent try to run on me, than have a TB throw all over the yard on me. Getting to the QB is job #1.

I love how you spin things. You imagination is truly a thing of beauty. However, your opinion is your perception. Just realize it is not as popular as you may hope. Far too many ppl believe Burns is a top talent. You saying otherwise does not change that fact. Go ahead nitpick. But Burns is still going to be considered a top talent.

lol You can dance around it all you want with that KC stuff. But, in this thread, you're the only one that wants to trade Burns. What's that say about the amount of support your stance is getting? What's the use of having a Rookie QB on a rookie QB pay scale, if you don't use the money to pay your best players? Pay Burns, who we've developed, or pay a FA who may not even fit?
