  1. Texans and Chiefs traded future 1st round picks to trade up for Watson and Mahomes respectively.
  2. Cam was very good in 2017 but I wouldn't describe what he was doing as ripping it lol his arm by that Eagles game was already looking kinda bad
  3. No point in asking. A coach or GM is not allowed to talk about another player on another team. The most you could ask is if the team is looking to acquire a new QB.
  4. I literally said I agree with the rookie scale. I was just adding that there are ways to improve it.
  5. I'm not saying I want Jones at #8, but having him over Lance is not nearly as outlandish as some of you are making it. Jones mechanically is so far ahead of Lance it isn't even funny. Lance has a higher upside but I'd argue Jones' floor is a lot higher than Lance's. With Lance, you truly just don't even know what you are getting over a very athletic QB.
  6. I agree but it sucks that the franchise tag is still a thing. A player could get hit with the 5th-year option and a franchise tag (potentially 2-3x but unlikely) before being able to negotiate a contract or hit the open market. I get why the current players wouldn't care about guys not in the league yet, but wish they could have negotiated something better. I think making it where it is a 3-year deal and the 4th year is the option year works out for both the player and the team. And make it where you can only be tagged once. That still lets a team hold onto a player for at least 5 years if they can't negotiate a contract, but eliminates the possibility of getting tagged more than once and guarantees you hit the open market (if you so choose) after 5 years in the NFL as opposed to potentially 6 or more.
  7. Sucks, but at least he could admit to it. Ish happens. Tbh though I never expected much from him. Was always a weirdly hyped signing IMO.
  8. Yeah I never understood why there was 1st round talk around him (and explains why he fell out of the 1st). He was so physically limited and really all he did was throw the ball to 2 baller receivers in Floyd and Tate. The guy had the lowest of low ceilings. I don't think it was ever an issue of him not working hard or him not understanding the game. He was just baaaaaaaaad and skittish. Mac Jones if he works out will at least be a solid starting QB.
  9. I actually agree, the more I watch Jones, the more I'm impressed by his pocket movement and awareness. However the issue I have is you just didn't see him do it a lot when the pocket was collapsing as fast as it will in the NFL, even behind a good OL. So you are projecting a bit on if his internal clock will remain as good. I think he'd be a good pick for the Saints. They have a great OL and if Jones has to play early, he'll need it. Honestly the more I watch the more I get what people see in him. But I still think his path to success is just a lot narrower than other guys, and that is what I have a big problem with about him.
  10. I'd prefer Wilson, but would definitely be cool with trading up for Justin Fields. I think he's going to be a playmaker from Day 1. He'll have his struggles but really the issues I see are just coaching him up related. Nothing is a guarantee but like I said in another thread, he reminds me so much of Deshaun Watson.
  11. I just hate how boring it was to watch him play. I wouldn't have been as frustrated as I was if it was just bad QB play. We all expected to suck this year anyway. But man Bridgewater really made it hard to watch our games. When it came to throwing the ball he was gutless. Just so conservative and weak-armed. I mean how do you have 4 1,000 YFS players and yet engineer such a low-scoring offense? That is why it infuriates me when people think Brady deserves blame. Absolute BS. Just watch the games. He did such an amazing job putting players in the best position possible (I like Samuel and yes he just needed more opportunities but this was still by far his best year and it was under Brady; same with Anderson and same with Davis, guys had career years here) and got everyone involved as best he could. Bridgewater was just bad. Dude can't play.
  12. Brees can’t scramble but I don’t think I would call him immobile. His pocket movement has always been incredible.
  13. Lol there is so much that is false in here.
  14. Never said he was, but that doesn’t mean he was some extremely gifted QB either. He benefited from a wide-open offensive spread system and Mike Evans. He was a good college playmaker but you are wrong if you think the only thing he was lacking is attitude.
  15. What is funny about it? Or why do you disagree? He had a solid arm and solid running ability for a QB. But he wasn’t gifted enough to be a consistent runner in NFL, and his arm relative to other NFL QBs was nothing special. He was also very undersized. Manziel fell for more reasons than just his attitude. Even if he was a hard worker I don’t think he works out because he wasn’t that good of a prospect.
  16. Manziel was not that physically talented.
  17. Too bad Jeff Otah's knees couldn't hold up. Some people have tried calling him lazy but I don't think you can blame a 330-pound mammoth for not being able to overcome persistent knee problems. Otah in 2008 was an absolute beast though. He was a future All-Pro. On a separate note... could ya'll imagine that 2008 and 2009 offense with a QB other than Jake Delhomme? Good lord. Cam Newton showed up to the Panthers 3-2 years too late. 2008/2009 definitely had to be the last time where you could sit back and say the Panthers fielded a great OL (Gross-Wharton-Kalil-Vincent-Otah... my god). Smith was in his prime. Moose was still very, very good. Hoover was the best blocking FB in the game. Williams, Stewart... man those 2008 and 2009 teams doesn't get talked about enough when it comes to miss opportunities. All we had to do was not commit to washed Jake Delhomme. I mean okay in 2008 I get it, Delhomme played well in '07 before his injury and obviously we didn't know how bad he'd get. But in 2009 we did our team a disservice. That team was so good in 2009 all we needed was a decent QB. Matt Moore would have taken us to the playoffs for sure.
  18. Sure, but servers can't be the only ones who benefit from being tipped. If servers are going to be tipped then the bar (although where I work, we don't tip out the bar but only because they make so much money off of togo) and bussers absolutely deserve to be tipped out too. The job for servers would be 10x more difficult without a buster or two. So I get what you are saying but with the rules the way they are then I think it is absolutely fair for servers to tip out 4% of their sales. I'm not saying that restaurant still isn't shady because most are, but I do think there is a fair explanation for why she had $200 taken out of her check based off the information you have given me. And I do not think it is accurate to say that she worked for free. Assuming 2 bartenders and 1 busser, that $40 tip-out each day is only $13 for each person. And so even if every server in the restaurant is breaking $1000 in sales (and damn that's a productive restaurant if so) and you have 6 servers on the floor, that is $78 for each busser/bartender. Compared to the 180 you as a server made that shift. That is absolutely fair.
  19. Because what you are saying isn't making any sense to me. I don't understand the problem. Every server in any restaurant (or just about, unless the bar/hosts/bussers are making a very good hourly which is unlikely other than for hosts) has or is expected to tip out. It is likely somewhere around 2%-4% for the bussers/runners and bar, and sometimes hosts. If she made $1000 in tips in 5 days, that means she is probably averaging about $1000 in sales each shift (assuming 1 shift a day and assuming she is being tipped about 20%; that comes out to $200 in tips each shift). $5000 in sales * .04 (4% standard tip-out) = $200 tipped out. So no she didn't work for free. She did the standard tip-out that is owed to bussers/hosts. Every restaurant I've worked at does this. Not sure what the problem is. And if that waitress quit because she didn't understand how tip-outs work, then that is on her. And no offense to your wife, how is she a manager and she doesn't understand that tipping out is a standard process? Unless again there are some details that you are leaving out. Is the tip out not going to the bussers or hosts? If not then yes it is absolutely 100% illegal for a restaurant to just take money out of someone's check. But I seriously doubt that is happening. If it is then tell your wife to report it immediately. I think there would be a lot more clarity if they didn't do tips by checks and simply did it at the end of the night w/ cash. Because ultimately that tip out amounts to just about $40 each shift (again assuming 1 shift a day) which is absolutely standard. And if you are working at a restaurant right now where you are able to rake in 180 (on average) after tip-out? I'm not sure why you quit. That is about as good as it is going to get in a restaurant right now with everything that has happened.
  20. Besides, how can someone get mad over something that hasn't actually happened lol
  21. Because if you want him, it is safer to go ahead and trade a 6th or 7th round pick for him as opposed to trying to compete with other teams to sign him in FA. Not saying I want him. Just explaining the rationale behind why you would give up a pick for him, even if you think he's going to get cut. It secures you his services.
  22. As someone who's worked in a restaurant I'm confused by this. Your tip out is based on your sales. Unless a server didn't get tipped on any of their tables, then there is no way they tipped out more than they made, much less to the point where they tipped out $200 and profited $0.
  23. Where is this source that Russell Wilson is disliked in the locker-room? Post it in this thread. And I want something more recent than just that one report from 2017 that was likely leaked by Sherman (or someone in Sherman's circle) considering it was clear he was leaving after that season. Give me anything more recent than that (or even anything that's just other than that) that talks about how Russell Wilson is loathed in the locker-room and/or that it has become a problem for the team. Otherwise I'm just going to assume that Wilson's relations with his teammates are nowhere near as bad as you are making it seem. And that it clearly is nowhere close to Owens' situations.
