  1. There is no way Hackett should be ahead of Hue Jackson. The dude went 1-31 over 2 season span. That may never be surpassed.
  2. Jeffrey Simmons. They also got Snead from the Chiefs. That defense definitely has some talent on it, way more than ours. There is zero comparison. EDIT - Looked up to make sure I wasn't tripping. Quandre Diggs, Amani Hooker, Harold Landry, Murray, Joseph-Day... yeah it is way ahead of ours. That defense isn't proof that it isn't always about the player.
  3. To be fair we were playing 2 of the worst defenses in the NFL. Not Panthers D bad, but bad nonetheless. Chicago put the clamps on us. I think that will be closer to what we see going forward. I do think the run game is legit but Dalton is going to start turning it over more, especially as he tries to keep up with the other offense.
  4. I wouldn't say I want the Panthers to lose, but I will say a Panthers victory doesn't make me nearly as happy as it did 10 years ago.
  5. Yeah, let's just ignore the fact Herbert suffered that high ankle sprain against us that also contributed to their low output in the second half. Nobody is having it both ways. You said they took their foot off the gas. I am telling you that is just how the Chargers play + Herbert getting hurt. Chargers offense wasn't good in Week 1 even with a healthy Herbert. It isn't a good offense. Their WRs outside of Ladd suck, and he's not a WR1.
  6. Chargers didn't "take their foot off the gas". That is just how they play and Jim Harbaugh coaches - he has always been extra conservative. They have far and away the fewest pass attempts in the NFL. They average 17 PPG for the season. And they scored 20 points against us in the first half. How does a defense giving up 20 points in one half to a team that averages 17 per game prove your point?
  7. I'll always love Cam Newton, so I'm here for it.
  8. Nah, this defense is that bad. We gave up 30 in the first half vs New Orleans with 0 points scored. 20 in the first half vs Chargers with 0 points scored. We "held" the Bengals to 21 in the 1st half. 27 points in the first half to Chicago with 7 points scored. I've been saying it all season. I've never seen a team depth chart look this bad on defense. We've legit got guys who got dismissed from practice squads getting major PT. This is why I can't get mad at Evero or Canales. It feels like there are some people here still who don't fully understand how bad this defense is talent-wise. There is no saving them. Offenses can do whatever they want. And you wanna know what is crazy? The first half of our schedule is the EASIEST when it comes to the offenses/QBs we play. We still have games against the Chiefs, Eagles, Cowboys, Bucs, Cardinals, Falcons, CHIEFS. I would bet good money the Panthers stay around 31-33 PPG allowed this year.
  9. Top tier TEs usually don't hit the market. TE play league-wide isn't pretty. Only 2 TEs have over 250 receiving yards this year and one of them, Dallas Goedert, was just on a bye week. Behind them is Jake Ferguson at 229 yards, and he's also only played 4 games. TE is just a hard position to hit on.
  10. It's the NFL. Players get hurt.
  11. How would better coaches prevent players from getting concussed? Clowney has been injury prone his entire career. Wonnum and Brooks were hurt before they got on the team. Thielen hurt his hamstring - every team deals with a player having a hamstring injury.
  12. How anyone can look at the talent on this defense and find a way to blame the DC… Lol
  13. I understanding wanting to see the team perform better, but what do people expect? This is the least talented football roster in the NFL by far.
  14. Who the hell is Thomas Incoom? Where are we finding these guys?
  15. It wasn't. Teams just didn't have a reason to attack us. Teams played us hella conservative. Teams combined for 481 pass attempts against us. The next closest was 506 (Cardinals). When teams actually needed to put up points against us, they did it with ease. In the 4 games we scored 20+ points, we gave up 37, 42, 42, and 33 points. We were dead last in turnovers forced. This isn't me arguing against Evero. I still think he's a good DC. But this defense was behind the rest of the NFL in defensive talent last year, and it has only gotten worse this season. There is no way I can look at our depth chart and think this defense stands a chance. This is definitely the worst front seven in Panthers history. And no Shaq or Jewell? It is about to get even worse. I was impressed that we got the stops that we did yesterday.
  16. What is he supposed to do? This is by far the worst defense in the NFL when it comes to sheer talent. We've got guys like Nick Thurman and Nick Scott starting. They suck.
  17. Am I crazy? Or do kickers NEVER miss long FGs against us?
