  1. maybe, but really it was always going to be Carolina or Houston, and who would he go and study in Houston? Demarco Ryans as HC and he took the 49ers passing game coordinator to be his OC, sure he could have watched 49ers film, but that's Shanahan's offense, who knows how similar this guy will want to run an offense. A lot easier to watch old Reich run offenses
  2. It's all going to come down to how Bryce does, if he's a multi all-pro type of player then it will have been worth it, if not, then we got terribly ripped off. I still feel it was far too much to give up for a QB of Bryce's size with the risk that comes with that. Also still feel like the better move would have been to move up to #3, keep DJ and one of the 2nd round picks and then taken whichever fell to 3 between Stroud and Richardson.
  3. I think Thielen very well might end up as the top fantasy WR for us next year, in PPR leagues that is, at least the most consistent. He's going to be a perfect fit for Bryce's scrambling ability as the check down guy on those and be a great possession WR who should also score 6 TDs or so as well. If Chark, TMJ, or Mingo break out, they could end up with the most points, but I think they'll all have up and down games and Thielen should be a pretty consistent 5 catches for 50 yards each game with many weeks where he adds a TD or puts up more yards/catches. Those are my kinda players in fantasy, consistency wins leagues, I actually won my league last year with Thielen being that guy who I drafted as a bench WR to start the year but ended up playing him almost every week due to injuries/byes and he was a consistent 10 points for me each week.
  4. Still think our best shot at ever getting Hopkins is for him to sign a 1 year deal with a top team to chase a ring, Bryce look good as a rookie, and then we sign him to a 2 or 3 year deal next offseason. Our best SB window begins next season and lasts for 3 seasons while Bryce's rookie contract is on the cap, we need to make sure we have a true #1 WR next year to maximize our chances during that time.
  5. You do realize that the Cardinals cutting him is likely an endorsement of the skill he still has left than anything, right? The Cardinals aren't trying to win this year, if they were, they'd have signed a better QB to play until Kyler is ready. Cutting him is their way of saying he still has it and would have been good enough to help them win at least a few extra games this year, which they don't want to do. Their goal is to end up with the #1 pick so they can either trade Kyler (if possible with his contract) or trade the #1 pick for the biggest return in the history of traded draft picks as Caleb Williams would get that kind of offer.
  6. ^^^^ More like 20 million in cap space as Bryce hasn't signed yet, he'll count $7.5 million against the cap in year 1 Either way, I fully expect him to end up on a 1 year deal with a contender like KC or Buffalo. Chase a ring, try to put together a full season of staying healthy and then get a better multi-year deal going into next year when he can go into the start of FA.
  7. Honestly, if we could sign Hopkins and then trade Chark, that would be the ideal scenario to me, as Chark is really the reason there isn't a clear open spot for Hopkins right now. Thielen is the slot and TMJ/Mingo should be on the field at one outside spot and then when we go 4 wide, we have to see them get significant playing time unless they're just terrible. Signing Hopkins would stunt one or both of their growth potential unless Chark gets relegated to minimal snaps.
  8. You're not paying for a twice as good pizza by going with something else over a Hot-N-Ready, you're paying for a twice as consistent pizza that is also a little better (although I'd argue Dominos and Papa Johns are worse than LC anyways, if going with something else, you go with Hungry Howies or Jets square). The Hot-N-Ready's are just wildly inconsistent, sometimes they're actually really good, and when you get those, it's worth it. But sometimes they're borderline not edible and when you get one of those, it's a complete waste of money, even at that low price. Yea, I'd go with Little Caesars over Dominos or Papa Johns, but there are many other pizza places (and obviously any local one-off places) over Hot-N-Ready's every time.
  9. If everything, and I literally mean EVERYTHING, goes right with our WRs this year, then yea, we'll have a really good WR room. If Chark can stay fully healthy for 17 games and finds his form, he can be a borderline #1 option. Thielen is still an elite check down option and as a #3 in the slot can be one of the more effective safety valves in the league. Then if TMJ and Bingo play up to their max potential this year, that's a solid top 4 with gadget weapons with Laviska and Byrd as our 5th and 6th WRs. But any injuries or players not living up to their potential, and it could be a disastrous unit. We may not have the top end elite WRs, but our 3-6 WRs might be some of the best in the league if things work out this year. And in an offense that should have a good run game and this next level brain in Bryce, it could work. Having said all that, I'll still take Hopkins in a heartbeat, less for this year, more for next year. Give him a year to help Bryce grow, if TMJ and/or Mingo breakout, we could be legit SB contenders in 2024 with Bryce in his second year and a Top 4 of Hopkins, TMJ, Mingo, Thielen.
  10. Yea, but Tyreek was very clear that he was looking to be the unquestioned #1 option on a team (which he wouldn't be with Kelce in KC) and that he was looking for the max money he could get. Hopkins was saying that he'd take a pay cut if he was traded to a contender, I don't think he's looking to squeeze out every penny possible.
  11. What planet are you living on? Last year after his suspension he killed it until Kyler got hurt, his per game averages would have come out to 120 catches for 1,350 yards in a 17 game season. 2021 wasn't great, but still, when he's been on the field, he's still an elite level WR. No, maybe he's not a Top 3 WR in the league anymore, but he's absolutely Top 20 at worst and still probably pushing Top 10 if he's fully healthy. He still has some of, if not THE, best hands in the NFL, he catches almost anything in his radius
  12. I'd say a very hard pass on Evans, but I'd actually go the other way on Godwin and overdraft him if in a PPR league, he's a beast in that format and I think he'll be Baker's safety valve all year long.
  13. Love it! Priority #1 this offseason is getting Bryce up to speed, practicing against one of the top defenses from last season is only going to help with that, smart move by Reich.
  14. If we took Mahomes, he wouldn't be Mahomes. Rivera would have ruined him just like he did Cam, he refused to let Cam loose, he clearly would have done the same with Mahomes and his career never would have taken off like it did with an innovative offensive play caller like Reid.
  15. No chance, none of the Florida teams make any sense. Dolphins have Tyreek and Waddle, Bucs have Evans and Godwin, Jags have Ridley and Kirk. I think most likely situation is that he signs a cheap 1 year deal with KC to try and win a SB with Mahomes and then goes for a bigger contract next summer. At which point, if Bryce has a good rookie season, we would make a lot of sense for him to come back home and take Chark's roster spot.
  16. I'll do a single piece of american cheese on a burger, but really only if it's a bacon cheeseburger to help mask the cheese taste, preferably with BBQ sauce too. Also will have pizza with it as long as it's not overly cheesy or else I have to take the cheese off and save with tacos, but that has to be even lighter cheese than pizza. That's really it for me with what I'll eat cheese with/on, used to eat Mac and Cheese every so often but not really even that anymore. When I was in 1st or 2nd grade I was eating one of those personal pizzas at lunch, part way thru the cheese all fell off, like most kids I just ate all the cheese. Was too much cheese, gagged on it and threw up all over the lunch table. For a while after that anything cheesy made me gag (and still do), so I stopped eating it and then completely lost any liking of the taste of it over time.
  17. Really only downsides to him doing that He's Cam Newton, he'd be expected to go out there and win MVP while leading his team to the championship easily, so even in doing so, he'd really gain nothing out of it. If he did anything less than that, even if not his fault, teams would say he doesn't have it anymore and nobody would give him a chance. It also would be risky for his health, you'd get some of those players wanting to make a name for themselves by putting a big hit on Cam and it could lead to some over-aggression and some bad late hits.
  18. I can't remember, did we ever have 3 QB's on the active 53 man roster last year or was one of them always on the IR until Baker was traded? I do think we'll still keep Corral this year though because of this and part of it is because of Chinn, with him, we can easily carry 1 less defensive player somewhere as he can really play so many positions if needed.
  19. It was the first day of OTA's, there isn't a single QB in the league who is taking 100% of the first team reps in OTA's, or even in training camp, you have to get the backup reps with the first team in camp since they won't get any during the regular season unless the starter needs a day off in practice to rest an injury. He took the majority of the snaps with the first team, he's literally only the QB2 in name and first snap of practice only right now, besides that he's already the QB1 and even Dalton admits as such. The real question isn't if he'll start week 1 or even when he'll be officially given the QB1 label, it's whether or not the team will vote him as a Captain in his rookie year. Normally I'd say that is 50/50, but seeing as we replaced our entire offensive lineup outside of the OL, I think he has a great chance at getting voted by the team. I think on offense, Moton is the only player locked in as a Captain, after that, Young is probably the only player that makes complete sense to be in the running, who else would be? Bozeman, Ickey, and Thielen maybe?
  20. It didn’t have the votes yet so they pulled it from this years rule change possibilities https://www.mlive.com/lions/2023/03/nfl-owners-adopt-several-rule-changes-table-emergency-qb-proposal-from-lions.html?outputType=amp
  21. That was a proposed rule change that didn't pass the owner vote this offseason. Maybe they'll try it again next year or in the future, but there isn't going to be a bonus game day spot for a 3rd QB this year.
  22. I actually wouldn't be surprised if he's someone who won't be an OC, he'll be our QB coach and end up leaving directly for a HC job. If we lose Brown soon, our next OC will be Deuce unless he's also gotten a HC job already. So odds are, that's at least 3 years if not more until our OC job would be open for him. Sure, a perfect opportunity could open up for McCown to be an OC, but I think it will be hard to top the opportunity to turn Bryce into a top end QB in this league. If he does that, particularly with all the size concerns over him, it will be enough to get him a HC job without being an OC first. So I don't think he's leaving for any old OC job, would need to be a perfect opportunity, other than that, I think he's here as our QB coach for a few years and then gets a HC job.
  23. We have 3 future HC's on the staff and all are black, it would be okay to lose one of them after this year since we'd still have 2 left, but keeping at least 2, if not all 3, around for 2 seasons is key. You get a Third round pick 2 years in a row after they get the HC jobs, if we can get an extra 6 third round picks over the course of 2-4 years, that's significant.
