  1. I'll be honest, not sure I'm too high on drafting any Panther for fantasy this year outside of Brooks depending on your league format I was VERY high on Theilen last year and my league laughed at me when I overspent to get him (we do an auction, pretty sure I was just getting bid up, but I wasn't losing him). He was a perfect fit with Bryce without us having any legit outside WRs and I was right, he killed it in fantasy, even if he tapered off a bit towards the end of the year. That league is also a 12 team PPR with 2 WRs and 2 flex spots that most team use 2 WRs in, so Thielen as a flex last year was a monster for me. This year though, I think Johnson and Thielen kinda hurt each other's fantasy value. They're going to be very similar in that they will both run great routes to get open, but likely getting a lot of shorter passes and crossing routes due to Bryce's lack of arm strength. Only difference is that Thielen will line up in the slot while Johnson lines up outside, but they'll be used similarly besides that. That combined with us likely trying to run the ball more given that being the strength of most of our OL, I don't really love either in fantasy this year as they'll cannibalize each other's potential on a run first team with a garbage QB. Brooks on the other hand, if you are in a league with IR spots, could be a GREAT steal as he's likely to keep dropping in drafts as the season gets closer and people realize he really won't be playing for a little bit. If you have IR spots, especially if you have 2 (which my league does), he's a great draft and stash guy, who also then immediately allows you to pick up a FA. So if you can get him late in the draft, it's like getting a bonus draft pick as you then get to pick up an extra player to fill the roster spot when you put them in the IR post-draft. I'd be surprised if I don't end up with him in my league this year because of that
  2. Exactly If KC is playing Mahomes and Kelce in the preseason, then we have ZERO argument to make for not playing Bryce and his young teammates. If teams don't want to play their 35 year old QB's, then yea, that I understand, or someone coming off a serious injury last year, okay. But that's not our situation, these guys need game speed reps, it's going to be a rough enough season as is, why are they not trying to do more right now?
  3. This is just flat out wrong NFL game speed is different than training camp, even the practices against other teams. Getting the starters a series or two in each preseason game will help them be more up to speed and in sync from the opening kickoff would be a massive help. It's not as important for 30 year old vets, but we have a young team, particularly on the offensive side of the ball. The game speed reps for them are far more important to this season than to figure out who are going to be the 45-53 men on the roster.
  4. Sorry but that’s nonsense When vets are sucking it up, nobody says to stop bashing them. With how early into careers players become impact players these days, any rookie should be open to fair criticism when you were the #1 pick after giving up what we did to get the pick, then it’s even more fair game. No, none of that is Bryce’s fault, but it’s what comes along with the trade and draft pick, you make 10’s of millions, you’re not immune to fair criticism because you’re young. Sure, criticize the front office for making such a stupid trade and pick, even more so than you criticize Bryce. But he’s the #1 pick of the draft who looks like a high school player out there with a noodle for an arm. He sold himself on his super brain and even with that, the game looked entirely too fast for him the entirety of the season. He earned this criticism with his play, he needs to earn it going away on the field, or well… try to, because I sincerely don’t believe he can
  5. We have the worst QB in the league who is in just his 2nd season, the kid needs snaps, why is he not playing in the preseason make it make sense
  6. I'll take any pick they'll give us, we're not competing right now, gets the contracts off the books, and draft picks are needed for re-builds
  7. Dominated in the trenches? Do you know how flag football works? There literally are no trenches, it's all about speed, quickness, precision, and passing ability. Which is why we would dominate it if they put together a team of NFL or even college players, as their actual football skills would be that superior, particularly for the QB's. The question is how young could we go, still with elite players, to where kids going up against grown men would become too much to overcome because they're just faster and quicker than a bunch of 14 or 15 year olds
  8. I guess my post was if they put together the best team possible, how young could they go and still walk to the gold. As I'm sure during those trials, it was a bunch of guys who couldn't even make it into the Arena league. But the elite HS Seniors, would DESTROY the rest of the world.
  9. I can't see any way that under contract NFL players will be allowed to play by their teams, just way too much of an injury risk at a time they should be in training camp. I'm guessing the only way NFL players are on the team, is if they are Free Agents and don't sign with a team so they can play and then sign after the games. Also, what's the point? The US could send out a team of high school Juniors and Seniors would sleep walk to gold, and even a team of younger players would be medal contenders. I honestly don't understand why a sport that is essentially only played in one country is being added to the Olympics, it's cool that we're guaranteed another gold every olympics, but still weird.
  10. If he struggles for two years in a row, he’s not likely to get the opportunities needed to become a pro bowler in year 3. It’s kinda like Burkes in Tennessee, sucked for 2 years and buried on the depth chart for year 3. 1st round WRs have to perform in their first two years or their teams are going to give up on them. He’d have to be REALLY bad to get cut by year 3, but if he struggles for two years, he’s more likely to be the 3rd or 4th (if not 5th) WR going into that season. The chances are much higher for Brooks to have a meaningful role in year 3 than Legette, assuming the same level of struggle for both the next 2 years. But let’s just hope they’re both studs so it’s not even an issue
  11. You do realize that the mind can’t control your legs after you’ve been paralyzed due to a spinal injury, right? it’s not like the part of his brain that control his legs stopped working. and he was paralyzed from the waist down, he still has use of his arms and hands.
  12. No, I'd say Leggett needs to be an impact player by next season or it wasn't a good trade/pick, you can't miss on a 1st Round WR when you needed a WR as bad as we did. Brooks has until his 3rd year because of him coming off the knee injury and the nature of RB's lifespan in the league these days. Unless he's downright awful this and next year (which I really just can't imagine is the case unless his knee just isn't the same for him), he'll get that 3rd year to show himself worth a 2nd rounder If he breaks out, we still have him for another season and you can sign RB's to one extension and it not be an issue, especially with him only getting 1 season of playing time in college.
  13. Because he couldn’t move things with his mind, like a Jean Grey who can do it. he can only read and control peoples minds, but it’s not going to make his legs work lol Okay, nerd time over
  14. Suck this year, draft Tetairoa McMillan in the 1st round next year. Suck next year, draft Arch Manning with the #1 overall in 2026. Have an elite passing offense for the next decade plus.
  15. Bryce is the starting QB of this team as long as he's healthy and until we draft his replacement. He's not a franchise QB and trying to win meaningless games and hurt our draft position to draft a new QB would just make things worse
  16. Bronny will carve out a successful 10+ year NBA career. He's not going to be Lebron and be a HOFer, but he's going to end up being an elite defensive player, think a Marcus Smart or Derrick White. No, he wasn't an NBA ready prospect yet, and he really always was going to need a couple years of seasoning to be ready for the league. But people forget that he couldn't train for 4+ months in the summer leading into his Freshman year, like at all. He never stood a chance this past season, people judging him on it are just not willing to be objective and are hating on him because he only got drafted because of his dad. Not every successful NBA player is an offensive juggernaut, he's going to make his money on the other end of the court and be very good at it. His defensive instincts and overall bball IQ are off the charts good and all accounts are that Lebron's work ethic was picked up by both of his sons, that's a combo for success.
  17. I thought he was going to be terrible when it was first announced, he just doesn't seem to be that type of guy in interviews during his playing career. But have seen a few clips of him breaking stuff down recently and he sounded really good. Apparently he actually took that year before starting up to go through a broadcasting bootcamp, he might surprise people with how good he can be. With how he sees the game, if he can figure out the broadcasting side of it, he could be what Romo was that first year (but he kinda sucks now, it's weird)
  18. I have a feeling it's going to end up being cancer or some other illness. Can't see how else the family would say died "peacefully" at his home if it was something sudden and unexpected, especially given his age.
  19. So a Vikings player is killed in a crash by a drunk driver, then 10 days later one of their players is arrested for a DUI because he was passed out asleep, behind the wheel, while on the LA freeway. Wow, no words If that wasn't one of their main players, he'd be cut immediately, but I'm sure they won't do that with his potential.
  20. They thought it was harsh? That's lenient to me, it should have been life. If you have 9 DUIs (which in itself is just ABSURD, but won't get into that here) and use your child to get past the breathalyzer and end up killing someone, you don't deserve to be free again.
  21. I'm guessing they are already planning on cutting him, but you keep him around in camp to "compete" with the rookie, but in reality it's just to keep the rookie hungry and for him to hopefully learn some things from the vet. We're not contenders this year, no reason to pay good money to a vet who isn't elite when you have a rookie with real potential. Worst case scenario is he has a bad year and we're looking for a new kicker next year, but best case scenario is he becomes a stud with that big leg of his and is our kicker for the next decade plus. Eddy isn't our franchise kicker for the next 10 years, there's no reason to go with him and I'm sure the staff already knows it.
  22. BOA was built at the very wrong time, the design of stadiums completely changed less than 10 years after it was built and it very quickly became outdated because of it. It might have been the exact same stadium if built 10 years earlier, but if built 10 years later it would have been modernized in design and functionality. Just look at something like Ford Field, that was opened in 2002, it's en entirely different generation of football stadiums and opened not too long after BOA.
  23. Without looking it up because I'm lazy, so maybe I'm wrong... if I remember it was talking to both Brady and Sean Payton who were under contracts at the time, multiple times and possibly in multiple off-seasons (less certain on that last part if I'm being honest). Huge difference between that and improper communication during an active free agent time period and with a free agent. Again, not looking it up, but think all this was, was the Falcons doctors (and others) talking to Kirk during that 2 day period, which isn't allowed. I hate the Falcons as much as the next guy, but let's also still look at things objectively and know that those two things are far from equal.
  24. All 3 of those guys were traded because it was time to give them monster extensions that their previous team wasn’t willing or able to give them, not because they weren’t reaching their potential. Terrible comparisons to Johnson’s situation
  25. I'm not sure he's even worth signing to an extension at any point, even if he has a solid season. He turns 28 in a couple of weeks and has ONE 1,000 season in his career with better QB play than Bryce (and better coaching as well). He's a solid player, but fact remains that probably the best team at recognizing WR talent in the last 10-15 years, decided he wasn't someone they wanted to keep around. I'd rather overpay for a better player in the offseason, and/or use our first rounder next year on a 21 year old WR with truly elite potential to pair with Legette. I like the trade to get us a solid WR option this year, but extending him now just makes absolutely no sense, it's the same problem we've had for the last decade, overpaying for average to slightly above average players. We aren't contenders this year and short of some absolute miracle happening, we won't be contenders for the following couple seasons either. So why in the world does anyone think signing a 28 year old without a single elite season in his 5 year career is a smart move? We're not going to be contenders with a 30 or 31 year old Deontae Johnson making 25+ million a season, that's just asinine to think it's a smart move, even with a rising cap. I'd rather overpay a Aiyuk or Higgins by $7-10 million a season next offseason than pay Johnson a fair market contract. Or try to trade for someone like DK Metcalf next offseason, who I don't think gets a new deal in Seattle, it's why they drafted JSN.
