  1. For what it's worth, the Arizona insider people have said this is entirely bullshit, they've really gone hard after McShay's comments the last few days. Fisch wasn't happy when T-Mac and our QB didn't follow him to Washington last year and the rumors have been that he's been out there bashing T-Mac to his NFL contacts out of spite, which is 100% something he'd do, he's not a very well liked coach and is a complete dick.
  2. I don't care that there is an official thread or if this may even be "against the draft day rules" but I'm starting my own thread, because after everything leading into today, of course I have to, lol. This won't be a long post about why he's going to be great, he's a Panther now, I don't need to convince anyone to want him, he'll show all the doubters why once he hits the field. But I've been trying to speak this into existence for about 18 months now It's not often that your favorite NFL team drafts the best player in your college's history, this still doesn't feel real, I'm in shock, I'm on cloud 9, I'm not even sure what to feel right now. To those of you who were on the T-Mac train with me this whole time, WE DID IT, now let's enjoy the ride. To those of you who were strongly against that train, well, you're going to be proved wrong and will look back on this one saying I was right, so I'll just accept your apologies now, you're welcome. Bear Down and Keep Pounding Tetairoa!
  3. This may have only been poo'd so far, but I did just ask on my Arizona board and they said yes, he doesn't like the nickname and has said he feels it's disrespectful to his mom who named him Tetairoa. So, poo on this if you want, but that's what the case is here, just passing along to our fan base.
  4. Can I please make a request to the mods and have this thread title changed to his full first name? I know our insiders on our Arizona page get upset when they see all the NFL people call him Tet, so I have a feeling it's not a nickname he likes, let's respect our new superstar.
  5. I have no words at the moment, been running around screaming since his first name came out of Goodell's mouth, never even heard his last name.
  6. Giving up that much means they 100% plan on playing Hunter both ways... which means they just gave all that up for a guy who is probably only going to last 3-5 years in this league. Playing 5 years both ways would be the equivalent of taking 10 seasons of wear and tear. So dumb
  7. It’s not about starting, if we take an OT in the 1st, the only path to any playing time at all is injuries. thats not how you should use a 1st on a team with so many holes. If an OT falls in the 2nd it would be more acceptable, but even then we can get players there who will play for us and make an impact this season.
  8. Not at 8, he's someone we should be able to get after some sort of trade down
  9. OT is only a need if we think Moton's career may be over and not even play this season. If the team isn't concerned about that, then an OT in the 1st round is the definition of a luxury pick, as realistically, no rookie OT should play a snap for us this year unless we have injuries.
  10. But if Dallas is willing to trade up, then yes, the Bears do have to trade up to get him. You’re making it sound like no matter what, the bears can stay put and get him, but they can’t. Hell, even if he’s there at 8 and we don’t trade with Dallas, then Dallas has the same chance to trade with the Saints to take him before the Bears get the chance. Which is why if Jeanty falls to 8, I think our best bet is to try and trade with the Bears, whether it’s bluffing a Cowboys offer or we have a real offer from them, the Bears have to take it into consideration that the Cowboys have 2 spots to try and trade above them for the guy they want
  11. I think if he falls to 8 the Bears and Cowboys get into a bidding war with us as they’ll both want him, so sure, bluff may be the wrong term, but if he falls to us, I’d be shocked if we don’t make a trade with one of those two teams. And the Bears won’t be able to stand pat then as there isn’t a scenario for him to fall to them at 10, it’s either trade up to get him or the Cowboys do
  12. But that's exactly why the Bears would need to trade up for him, because the whole league will know they plan on taking him if we pass on him, it won't be hard to bluff the Bears that we have someone else trying to trade up to take Jeanty, such as the Cowboys. And that's even if a bluff is needed, if that scenario plays out, I guarantee we'll have trade offers for someone to try and get Jeanty anyways. I also think it's all a moot discussion anyways, as I don't see him getting past 6. Someone is trading up with the Jags to take him at 5 or I think he's going to the Raiders at 6.
  13. Maybe we should just be hoping he falls to 8 so the Bears will try to trade up, that might be an even better scenario than trading with the Cowboys. We're not taking Jeanty at 8, best case scenario might be Jeanty falls to 8, we swap with the Bears, they take Jeanty, Saints take a QB at 9, and then we get to pick at 10 the same player we'd have taken at 8, but pick up whatever the Bears give us to make that swap.
  14. I really don't see Jeanty falling to 8, but if he did, I'd be jumping all over this offer if they were to make it, move down 4 picks while adding 44, yes please!
  15. Think you mis-read my post... I was saying they take Hunter at #2, Shedeur would be their 2nd rounder, not the 2nd pick
  16. Right?!?!?! I don't even know why it popped into my head just now, but with all this talk about Shedeur falling the last week or so, how has this scenario not been discussed anywhere? Screw it, let's make it even more fun..... Browns take Hunter #2, then take Shedeur with their 2nd (or trade back into the 1st to get him), immediately fire Stefanski, hire Deion to replace him, agree to do Hard Knocks, HBO ratings go through the roof.
  17. This just occurred to me and for some reason I feel like I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere before. But a lot of people saying Shedeur could end up really falling, maybe even to the 2nd round. If the Browns take Hunter at #2 as expected, it would be crazy of Shedeur falls to the 2nd round and they end up drafting him to pair the two of them back together. Seems like something a GM would want to do to create buzz and sell tickets/jerseys, but if I'm Stefanski, I'm pounding the table to not allow it as it basically means he's setting himself up to be fired so they can hire Deion after the season.
  18. In the words of the great Kevin Costner... Tetairoa McMillan no matter what
  19. The point is if the Lions believe he has that potential and think he can keep his head straight, then trading him isn't an option because of how good he'll be the next 2 years on a rookie contract. And if they are the ones looking to trade him, it's because they don't believe that will happen, hence the red flag it raises.
  20. If you don’t understand there is a difference between “wanting to fix the run defense” and “DT is the position of priority” for us, then I don’t know what else to tell you. When you have a Derrick Brown and so many other holes, I can never see DT being the position of priority in the draft, and that’s not saying we can’t take one, but it should be far from our main priority
  21. Your point? We didn’t have Brown at all last year, so we are basically already adding one all pro level DT to the team this year. I’m not even saying we don’t need another, but just that I can’t see how it’s a priority position for us high in the draft because of Brown.
  22. The Lions are not in a “forward thinking” mode right now, they are in a win a Super Bowl THIS season mode. I’m from the Detroit area, you don’t understand how much this city is starving for a Super Bowl, they don’t care about the future right now, they care about maximizing their window right now, this season. You also say it’s the last chance to get something good, but that’s nonsense, this is a 24 year old with legitimate Top 15 WR potential. Teams were lined up to trade high draft picks for Higgins or Garrett Wilson if either came available, both of whom would need brand new big contracts. If Williams improves and plays 17 games next year while staying out of trouble, he’s would basically be in the same situation as Higgins the last 2 years, except with a higher potential ceiling and the 5th year option instead of back to back tags because he was a 2nd rounder. Which is why if the Lions didn’t have concerns about him, they exercise the 5th year option and keep him this year. Because if he has the expected season, he’s 100% bringing back a 1st rounder next year as a 25 year old not even reaching his prime yet, or they keep him for one year on a bargain bin value contract for the production. Thats why if the Lions are the ones looking to move him, it’s a huge red flag that they have serious concerns about him or they are looking for at least a 1st rounder this year, which is then a super hard pass.
  23. That couldn't be any more incorrect. They can still pick up his 5th year option and then trade him next offseason. They can still decline the option, let him walk in FA next year, and as long as he has a good season will likely bring them back a 3rd round comp. And they could do either of the above and then still franchise tag him afterwards and then trade him for what would be a really good return, assuming he continues to progress and stay out of trouble. All of this while he's only costing them $5.4 million against the cap and trading him would only get them $3 million in cap savings. It makes zero sense to trade him this offseason unless they have serious concerns about him or unless they get a godfather offer they can't turn down.
  24. And if he improves again this season, $15 million in 2026 would be a massive bargain for a WR of his ability and game breaking potential and something a team with a SB window will find a way to make sure it work for the year. Especially as even if they REALLY can't afford to keep him after that, they can then franchise tag him so they can trade him for a great return. Goff has a monster arm and combined with Williams speed gives the Lions one of the best explosive play threats in the league, which is a perfect compliment to both Amon Ra as their #1 and their run based offense. I just can't see any way they'd want to trade him if they didn't have serious concerns about him, likely because of his recent off field stuff.
