  1. Yeah but these old rich guys didn’t get handed the keys to where they are currently unless they were family money/trustfunders. Most of them put in the work and got Lucky enough to make it big.
  2. When something starts to become a trend I wouldn’t consider that the time to relax. Tell me something I said that isn’t true. Also only two of our D line starters are under 25 and they were both first round picks. Although I view Burns as more of a pass rushing OLB now.
  3. So I was thinking about how often a coach comes straight from the collegiate ranks to the NFL and finds sustained success and it got me thinking about other professions. Lets say I’m the CEO of my own decent sized company. My dream is to one day be the head of a multi billion dollar Fortune 500 company. If an opening for said position opened up I wouldn’t even be in the realm of possibility to be hired for the job. The most realistic chance I would have is to move into big business, learn the ins and outs of a Fortune 500 company and gain the experience needed to hopefully one day be considered as a successor. Now let’s take that same approach to football. I doubt high school coaches get calls from colleges to come right up and be the new head coach of a collegiate program. The same applies to the NFL. It used to be the only guys who got that opportunity were national championship winning coaches and even then the vast majority never went on to accomplish much at the professional level. We have started to see the trend of hiring coaches straight from the NCAA increase because of the success of young coaches like Sean McVay. The funny thing is McVay wasn’t a college head coach. He worked his way through the ranks in the NFL until he got his opportunity. Most people need experience in things to be successful. Just because you are a football coach doesn’t mean you are qualified to be a coach at any level of football. This is why the overwhelming majority of successful NFL head coaches come from years of NFL experience. Just seems crazy to me that a guy like David Tepper couldn’t see that as he himself had to put in the time and effort to grind his way to the top. I’m sure he isn’t going to hire a successful day trader to come in day one and immediately start running Appaloosa Management.
  4. Exactly, so just let the coaching staff go.
  5. After we lost 3 in a row my emotions went right back to where they were last year. Anger and disbelief. After each loss I think to my self. The coaches must watch the tape. It’s blatantly obvious what our issues are and yet every loss is the same fuging thing. We are coming up on 2 years with this staff and none of them have adjusted or fixed any of their glaring issues.
  6. Our D line is plenty big. Phil Snow is just a bad coach with a bad defensive scheme. Morgan Fox, Yetur Gross-Matos, Derrick Brown, DaQuan Jones and hell throw Bravion Roy in there are like a combined 1200lbs. For some reason Snow thinks it’s a good idea to run nickle and dime with Burns Reddick, Fox and Brown up front when they’re dominating us with the run. Fox is a running stopping DE or pass rushing DT. So you have 3 pass rushers and one guy who can eat blocks and you wonder why it was so easy to run on us. Same poo happened in the Dallas game and even the dumb ass commentators were wondering why we weren’t using more big bodied down linemen since we were getting killed by the run. If you want to have Burns and Reddick out there at the same time against more physical teams you have to be running a standard 3-4 formation with them or the opposing team is going to check to a run and gash us every time. If they’re in an obvious must pass situation that’s different. it wasn’t until the 4th Quarter until I finally saw a line up front of Fox-Brown-Jones-Matos and guess what, we stuffed their running back for no gain. Were literally talking basic fundamental football and our coaches aren’t even utilizing the fuging basics.
  7. If the defensive line was as bad as the offensive line this defense would be one of the worst in the league.
  8. Cam was the first player to suffer from Rhule's kiss of death. Rhule came in talking about how great Cam is and how he couldn't wait to work with him and then boom, Rhule cut his ass a few days later.
  9. We have a bunch of very talented player that are carrying a bunch of inept coaches. When the players need help from the coaches poo goes south real quick. Phil Snow has the most talent on the team to work with and when the player need him to come through and put them in a position to succeed he shits the bed every time. This entire staff needs to go and be replaced with actual NFL coaches.
  10. He is the head coach and was allowed to hand pick his coaching staff. He is fully responsible if they suck ass. He chose not to hire anyone with any NFL experience. Tepper also kept Hurney around an extra year and Hurney gave Rhule the green light to do what ever he wanted to with the team. Hurney even said he did not want to move on from Cam but Rhule wanted "his guy" and we all have seen how that's worked out.
  11. This honestly should be talked about more. 10 straight picks on defense and traded for 4 more defenders. Two of them former first rounders. His scheme sucks and any decent NFL coach is able to take advantage of it and our coaches are incapable of adjusting. Funny thing is Joe Brady suffers from the same issues. Crazy that a bunch of college coaches who are running their same schemes from college in the NFL aren't having success. First year I gave them a pass as they needed time to make their adjustments into the NFL. We are now going into the last quarter of year 2 and Rhule, Brady, and Snow haven't adapted or changed their ways at all. Way too much talent on this team (aside from the offensive line) that is going to waste because this coaching staff doesn't know how to properly utilize them allowing even average NFL coaches to completely neutralize entire phases of our game.
  12. He was indecisive and wasted a timeout because he was unsure of what to do in that situation. Not a good look coming from your head coach.
  13. Just wanted to bump this. Matt Rhule is an idiot for not punting. Just lost us the game.
  14. What a fuging moron. Can we get a free safety please so Chinn can play SS.
  15. I hope they figure their poo out since they are currently panthers and only a little over a year and a half in. If they continue this crap and don’t make the adjustment to the NFL then yes I’d like Tepper and Fitterer to start looking for an NFL caliber coaching staff.
  16. Idc what it says online. If this is a 4-3 defense our coaches are idiots and don’t know how to properly run one. Our defensive ends sure do stand up to rush and drop back into pass coverage quite frequently for a 4-3.
  17. Need Brown and Jones to step it the fug up. Going against a 3rd string center now and they are having trouble collapsing the interior of the pocket.
  18. They aren’t defensive ends in this defense. We run a 3-4 now they’re both outside linebackers now. Snow will sometimes have them put their hands in the dirt which is one of the issues I’m talking about. When we are getting gashed in the run game you need to bring in more down linemen instead of trying to use your pass rushers to stop the run with only 1 or two D linemen on the field. It’s a balance you have to find when running a 3-4 defense. A lot of teams who run a base 3-4 will have a 4-4 package to help when they are getting run on.
  19. I would hope we have a good defense. 10 straight draft picks on defense and we have traded for another 4 defensive players. Like I said personnel is not the problem. Only area for that excuse would be the offensive line which we all know is terrible.
  20. Didn’t say to fire anyone. Just said that after a season and a half our coaches still haven’t strayed away from their college coaching tendencies that clearly do not work in the NFL and that isn’t a good sign.
  21. Seriously, any time we go up against a team who doesn’t have another college head coach or a staff of experienced NFL coaches we get abused. Matt Rhule continues to look lost on game days. Joe Brady shows flashes but for the most part calls cutesy bs that doesn’t work in the NFL, and Phil Snow seems to always deploys the wrong packages in crucial situations. Zone when we need to play man, not manning up our best corner against their top receiver, extra LBs and safeties when we need an extra corner, only using 2 down linemen when we’re getting gashed in the run game, etc etc. The only reason this game is tied is because of Cam. These coaches are constantly setting up players in positions to fail instead of for success. Over a season and a half in and they still haven’t realized this isn’t the NCAA anymore and that bullshit isn’t going to fly against experienced NFL coaches. They’re getting out coached by Ron Rivera and abused by a beat up WFT for fugs sake.
  22. What the hell is Snow doing? Zone defense is that situation is fuging past poo. Why are you not letting Gilmore man up with Terry? This coaching staff still leaves a lot to be desired. Out coached anytime we go up against a team with experienced NFL coaches.
