Their forecheck is relentless because they are so physical and heavy. It’s just a perfect mashup for how they play. Florida before Paul Marice played just like us. Speed but with finesse. Paul made them but into playing heavy. They went and got players that added to that style he wants and it works. Plus they have the best goalie in the league. That helps more than anything. The canes have got let Koochie be their guy he will never become the star that most think he will if rod keeps sticking with vets that flame out. 1. Koochie or a Soros type player 2. Switch to zone defense 3. Get heavier. like I said, I love Rod. Best pro coach ever in the Carolinas sports buy he is holding us back with his philosophy and style. He is the reason. He can change all of that with decisions.

Of course. That’s what I said. Bad goalie play and the style of defense. Florida played amazing. Rods decision to stick with a struggling Freddie cost us. Plus, Florida may be more talented than us and they play a very heavy game. Something we don’t do well minus Svech. Glad the rangers lost.

Florida takes game 1 with excellent goal tending and zone defense. Something we don’t do in the playoffs. Kinda a blueprint their rod. Not a shot btw…just an observation.
-
I thought Freddie was and free agent?
-
Would he be that kind of successful in rods system?
-
No to Freddie unless he is ok being the backup and mentor to Koochie

https://www.espn.com/nhl/insider/story/_/id/39936448/nhl-offseason-schedule-keys-draft-picks-trades-free-agency-cap-space#car The article really makes a good point in saying what Most of us are thinking. Gentzel is a top priority and letting Koochie start over Anderson and find Anderson’s replacement is big for us.

Where are you hearing those rumors? Btw I would love if we got to keep Jarvis Guentzel and chatfield. That’s a great off-season. KK is toast. Bad contract. Skjei would be great too.

Paid attention a little bit last year now that the Canes are done I need to pull for another team. Strengths, weaknesses, standings outlook this year. Help educate me so I can enjoy some soccer in the Carolinas this summer. @MillionDollarCam @Anybodyhome @PantherChris

Yep

fug that is sad. Damn we really are going to look different next year. Maybe Donny Wadds call pull some magic in the offseason. Who knows.
-
Jarvis is going to be a cane for life. Love that kid. Tough as nails. That could be another reason the scoring dropped off there.

Guys necas is going to be tough to see let go. Two years ago, he was in the running to be an all-star next to an Aho. I remember him getting votes as one of the fan votes. I signed a puck for my dads birthday which always stands with me. I really do think Necas is going to go to a team like the leafs that’s prioritizes scoring he’ll get to 80 to 100 points. He will set the NHL on fire. Great player, wrong system.

I love some good ball busting! Doesn’t bother me ha! no promises on that one. I hate losing more than anything. Even when I have no control. Panthers lose I just laugh and move on. Canes lose again in playoffs, it hurts. But, I’m over it now. 24 hour rule.

I should! Maybe I’ll have my daughter write those for you. …or I can take a few of your as well. “Done” “I’m out”

Taking the family today to do the painting on the ice. Going to be pretty emotional walking in there this afternoon. I’ll try to take some pics. This event is always fun but bittersweet.

It’s not that I don’t like Rod. He is actually my favorite coach of all time next to Jerry Moore from App State that run of 3 straight nattys with the Michigan win was 2nd to none. My issue with rod is he beats up on regular season teams then once he gets to the playoffs, our scoring drops or our goalie play sucks. Every year. Last year, goalie play was good but we couldn’t score. This year, scoring was there but our goalie play was bad. We scored three or more goals in all but 1 game Vs rangers. That should be enough to get you wins in playoff games. It’s one of the other ever single playoffs. Also, his man vs zone is a real thing. Burns had a terrible playoffs. It wasn’t good. Him chasing his guy vs playing zone may have benefited him. You can still check, hit your man, and get back to your area. Like I said, I love rod but his playoff resume is like one poster said, it’s .514. Its average. Average for a cup contender isn’t good. He needs to change his tune of some philosophy and loyalty to aging vets and goalies.
-
I hope he changes his tune on some things.
-
Necas is going to be stud with a team like leafs that lets their stars shine. I’m going to miss that guy.
-
Facts. We looked gased in that third. His system just doesn’t work in the playoffs.
-
I don’t mind the players except maybe Freddie. My issue is the the philosophies from rod. Man Vs zone. The guys just wore down. Man just fails in the playoffs. Rod needs to change his tune on youth vs loyalty to vets.

Neither is being a good human. Wasn’t a flex since we have a few of us here that are season ticket members. You choose to single me out because you are obsessed with me. Sorry pal. I’m not interested back. Piss off. -
I agree with everything but Drury. Drury showed up big time. He is getting better each day. We will need him next year. Koochie is our guy. No doubt. For the canes to take the next steps, Koochie needs to be him.
