I have a feeling burns will be back on a one year deal If he plays less minutes, I’m all for it. Nikishin and Morrow will be up next year to replace Orlov and maybe Walker. Depending on how Freddie does in the playoffs, it will be him and koochie or someone else and koochie. we still need a center. Badly. If that’s one of prospects, wonderful, if not, I fully expect them to go get a good one. $30 plus mill is a ton to work with. Esp when we already have a solid core. and yes, I fully expect moose to sign with us. We have the money. Pay him. Yo I don’t get top 6 to top 10 NHL players often. We now have one. Better than anyone on this team in including aho. Better than Guentzel. On par with prime Eric Staal. A true ELITE star.

If he scores and helps them win, that’s step one. Second, somehow winning a cup with him will only make more stars want to come here. Aho is his good friend though.

That’s not what I meant. Having Aho will only help persuade him to stay. I fully expect Moose to get 12-14. Easily. Plus, we can afford it. I was also hinting at that they learned from Jake and will not wait to sign. They will be ready to get a deal done fast.

The fact is Necas hit his ceiling with us. I loved necas but he is in the wrong system. 2 goals in 20 games. Not great at defending. Disappears in the playoffs. The canes weren’t going to get better if they stayed status quo. This move takes us to a scoring level. The fan base begged for scoring over the last 3 months. Begged for it. The fact that the canes are 2nd in the east and 4th on the league with suspect scoring, defense, and goalie play just shows how good this team can really be and why Tulsky and his analytics showed we needed to make a move. This reminds me of the moves Florida made to push to cup contention. Aho and Moose are friends so I would imagine he signs sooner than later.

Well boys. The canes have a super star. Maybe he plays tonight. Let’s see how this plays out.

I thought so too then saw we were top 4 in points and actually a couple points ahead of this time last year. This gives the canes a player they haven’t had since Eric Staal. And if he makes AHO better, then the team just got two super stars. Aho is is star but not a top level star like Moose is. This is gonna be fun.

I’d like to see us play and score more. Plus our D and goalie play needs to be better. Bu this is a great start.

In fact, he actually was brought to the canes 3 years ago for offense. Now that he is 40, the offense is drying up and he is being forced to play more D. Yeah, he is slowing down, Father Time is taking his toll. If he didn’t play so many minutes I think he would be more fresh. His clears aren’t becasue he is lazy. I think he is just getting older and tired. @Anybodyhomeagree or disagree?
