Round 6 Pick 189: Amaré Barno, EDGE, Virginia Tech
BULLETPRQQF replied to Icege's topic in Carolina Panthers
This man ran a 4.37 at 6'6" 245 lbs?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?! Even if he doesn't pan out, this would never be considered a bad pick to me Can you imagine him being one of the outside gunners on the punt team? -
Even though we didn't keep him...I'm glad we traded that 6th for Gilmore. Just the knowledge I'm sure he passed on to those young corners last year will yield more benefits than anyone we could have gotten for that 6th round pick. I'm excited to see this defense fly around. Other than the fack we might need another pass rusher, this defense will be be solid. Definitely a lot more man coverage, definitely a lot more aggressive. I'm honored to have had the opportunity to serve with Luke. After 2 years of teaching, I joined a nonprofit based out of Charlotte who's goal was to increase the number of people with in the bone marrow registry, Project Life Movement. This gave me the opportunity to travel to colleges all over the country because we were geared towards recruiting college students. Luke Kuechly served as the celebrity ambassador and he was just an amazing guy. I remember our first conversation...it was about Madden. He asked me who I played with and I said Panthers of course. He then asked, if I was one of those guys who picked the same play every play...I responded "nah, I mix it up, gotta keep someone like you guessing." . He wore the organizations cleats for those weeks that the players chose organizations to represent. We did a short little commercial together...if I find it I will post. But I believe Luke Kuechly was one of the best things to happen to the Panthers and Charlotte, NC as a whole. When he got his big contract....he never showed it...he just wanted to fish in the off-season .

Panthers plan to pick up Brian Burns fifth year option
BULLETPRQQF replied to NAS's topic in Carolina Panthers
Burns is the reason Hassan Reddick had the season he had. He taps in with the fastest time to the QB. I'm all for keeping him around...he and YGM will become the new Johnson/Hardy duo -
Running QBs don’t win Superb Owls
BULLETPRQQF replied to Lets go get it Canes's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah, I'm not buying this logic. Most(not all) current "running" or "dual-threat" QB's in this league aren't surrounded by enough talent to win a bowl. We went to the Superbowl in 2015 while going 15-1. Noone, and I mean noone saw us being that successful that year. Washed up Micheal Oher and Mike Remmers were our tackles . Ted Ginn Jr. Was not a #1 receiver....but he was for us... Jericho Cotchery Ed Dickson at TE...need I say more? Lets look at Lamar Jackson. Outside of TE Mark Andrews, he didn't have a lot to work with. Hollywood Brown is fast, but he's not your go-to guy yet....3-4 HBs went on IR and yet they still had a chance. I believe "running" QBs haven't won a lot of Superbowls because they allow teams to be successful despite lack of talent....but they can't reach ultimate success without that talent around them -
Ian Thomas didn't receive any felony charges....Shi Smith looks like both of those will be....."Abra Kadabra"...and he's gone

The Niners offered a first round pick for Darnold last season?
BULLETPRQQF replied to Proudiddy's topic in Carolina Panthers
I don't know why, but even with his struggles, I don't think he's great, but I don't think he's as bad as we are letting on him. That man didn't have a pot to piss in, let alone a door to throw it out of in New York. There was no talent around him....unless you gonna give him Robby Anderson. He started off last season great for us. I started to see it when we played the Texans and I knew it was going downhill. The Texans dline started creating pressure and getting to him. I knew the oline was the weakest link and I believe after that Texans game, everyone else thought so too. It wasn't until he got rattled that he began to go back to the Jets Darnold we were use to seeing. It also appeared that he spent a little time playing hurt...and we seen how that worked for Baker Mayfield. If all we do is pick up Cam, and continue to roll with a new fortified oline, I think we would be leaps and bounds better than the team we fielded last year. -
I see it as a smokescreen........are the Panthers gonna pick Ridder at #6? Nope.....Our next pick isn't until the 4th round? Will he make it there? Nope......The Panthers coaching staff dealt with him the entire week at the senior bowl, check..... The entire Panthers brass went from Pittsburgh pro day, to.Liberty's pro day, to Ole Miss's pro day that took place at 4pm. Cincinnati's pro day is at 10am the next day. I'm not reading too much into it. At least we are not the Steelers, who caught flack for attending Ole Miss's pro day instead of Ohio State. They're giving the fact they are looking for a QB. I like the idea of trading back, gaining extra picks...we could definitely pick up 2 or 3, then address QB, Edge, and OL . I like Ridder, but I don't see him as an option unless we trade back.

What matters: a QB’s talent or their situation?
BULLETPRQQF replied to Tbe's topic in Carolina Panthers
The easiest answer to this question would be our last Superbowl matchup against the Denver Broncos. Cam had an MVP season, yet couldn't do $HIT in the bowl because of the lack of talent we had around him. The offensive line was poo and got exposed when we went up against a talented defense. We held our own as a unit on defense against Peyton Manning.....but our offense couldn't do "diddly poo"
