  1. Despite the fact that Adam Schefter came out and said that Bryce Young was #1 on everyone's boards, we still see these baseless claims pop up. I get it, it's a message board, but CJ Stroud WOULD NOT HAVE SUCCEEDED WITH THE TEAM WE PUT TOGETHER LAST YEAR, hell even Stroud couldn't beat our defense last year despite them having the better roster....Tepper's decision was an overreaction to Rhule's hiring. We've found the middle ground with Canales
  2. I like the fact that we are doing more to shore up the bottom of the roster. We pretty much know who our starters are going to be and those at the top of the roster who will contribute to a better season than what we had last year. 10-15 plays in a live game during preseason will not be the deciding factor to how successful we will be. Finding diamonds at the bottom of this roster who can step up when a starter goes down should be more of our focus. We saw what this man did with Baker Mayfield and we can mostly agree that Bryce is a better QB. We have dawgs, and there is no need to let them off the leash to sniff around for food. They get enough live reps in practice and will be well rested for the joint sessions with the Jets. If they play, they play. If they don't, they don't, but from what I have watched, I expect them to be more than prepared when the season starts.
  3. Can't be considered overpayment because of 2 different systems. If these were Burns 2nd worst stats in a 4-3 defense, with his hand in the dirt every play, I would say this argument holds merit. The problem is that a 3-4 OLB is also asked to drop in coverage. Of course his stats will be down.....
  4. I like him if he is in the 3rd round. Not in the 2nd unless we trading down to the back end....
  5. The only way I am willing entertaining any draft day trades is if someone is willing to overpay. We have a done a good job of bringing in talent, so there is no urgent need to bring in bodies. We appear to be ok at Defensive Line, We have addressed the offensive line and no changes to be made at QB. We could use a WR, RB, and TE. We could use a Pass rusher, ILB, and Corner. Only WR, Pass rusher, and Corner really stand out to me. You clear 2 of those needs with the picks we have now. I say WR and Pass rusher. Bring back Gilmore for this season and we can select those other positions later. Now if someone is willing to overpay above and beyond, eliminate one of those needs in the process..just my 2 cents
  6. There is no way fathomable it will going to take a lot of money to resign Chuba. He can easily be replaced a Free agent next year, or drafting someone in the later rounds this year. With what we have on the roster this year, it is not an immediate need. The the oline does what I think they can do, You can put an infant back there and let them crawl through the hole....
  7. We were thinking the same thing. He could play the 4 tech opposite Derrick Brown and anchored with A'Shawn Williams in the middle. He can still stop the run....
  8. I disagree. I think his position coach spent more time being a mole on the team to David Tepper than actually coaching his guys up. Ickey wasn't the only one that sucked last year. The unit as a whole was gonna be better this year and with the FA addition, gonna be even better than that. Just watch......
  9. Y'all are killing me trying to kill a player after his 1st season. It is not a secret that this offense as a whole was atrocious this past season. There are many places to point the blame.....but even Cam Newton was more successful as a QB when the OC decided to play to his strengths. I don't think Reich was fully trying to play to Bryce's strengths because he was more worried about his philosophy. It also a tough task to ask a QB to be the QB without any WR talent. You can reference Tom Brady all you want, but he still had a great TE, and quick, twitchy, receivers that could get open within inches of the LOS. We did not have an identity this season...... that's why we looked like poo, played like poo, and ended up on the poo side of things. I can guaranD@mn tee that Bryce will not play this bad again.
  10. Does anyone remember the WR/TE core we had in the superbowl? Take another look. we will be ok. I'm calling Panthers in playoffs. Too dynamic of a coaching staff/young skilled players to not make it.
  11. I think he's gonna be the "Steve Smith of this defense."
  12. He saw he got snubbed, we saw he got snubbed, let's just sit back and watch him prove the doubters wrong.....AGAIN!!!!
  13. With Tuttle being 6'3" 300, he projects to being a 3-4 Defensive end. You need a mammoth (McCall) at NT because all they are gonna see is double teams and they have to be stout at point of attack. They have to be able to force a double team to keep your inside linebackers free.
  14. I mean, we finally ",won" at something. I understand some are worried about the cost, but I'll be dammed if it don't feel good to win. It's crazy to keep doing the same thing expecting different results. We know we have a talented defense and are closer to being able to transition to this 3-4 than most people think. Solid offensive line that knows how to ground and pound. The compliment to any young QB. Trade up, get a QB on a rookie deal, then use that money the first few years to put a foundation around him. I like Lamar, but even he has question marks. If we were not going to give Watson a fully guaranteed deal...no way we fork it over for Lamar. Having a QB on a rookie deal gives us an opportunity to see how this contract turns out. Will be setting the bar for us in a few years.
  15. While I don't post much...I feel like some of us are missing the big picture. While the Rams offered 2 1st and a 2nd for Burns, supposedly..... Let's dive in and I'll be one to say I didn't like the trade. Rams don't have a 1st this year they gave up 2 1sts for Stafford 2 years ago....their 1st pick in the 2nd round. So we would have been getting 2024 and 2025 1st rounders from Rams. 2nd could have been from this year but who knows. Yeah, we needed more skin I the game for this off-season for me to be ok with any trade for Burns.
  16. He's not a bad QB imo. I would still rather explore other options, but u think McDaniels is just a terrible coach. Decent OC..just terrible at leading a team...
  17. You all do realize that someone came in head down and planted the top of their helmet on his wrist...it's not like he meant for it to happen. I believe it Jeremy Chinn
  18. No damn way this is even a thread..lol The starters did play, and they got a lot of reps in the joint practices with the Patriots. They went at it all day Tuesday and all day Wednesday. If the coaching staff wasn't satisfied with what they saw, then I'm sure they would have played on Friday. At this point we know who our starters are and a lot them got good work over those 2 days. We also had a lot of starters with little Knicks and knacks during training camp. A team is judged by the depth that they can build and thats i saw Friday. Some backups will earn roster spots from the Patriots game.
  19. I seem to remember the Bears trading us the best TE we've seen in our organization for a 3rd round pick. He reminds me of a Greg Olsen. I'm all ears at this point.....
  20. What in the world am I seeing? Pre-season or not, if I am not a lock for the 53-man roster, you damn right I'm gonna be out there going 200%, 200 mph trying to put anything on film that will earn me a spot. Clearly Kenny Robinson will not sniff the field for us defensively. But if this was not a time for him to go hard, wtf did both teams decide to run the drill. Definitely didn't need it for a joint a practice if you didn't want to see them go balls to the wall against another team. The only bad thing was that a player got knocked out in an environment that was hostile throughout the day. I'm sure he wanted to deliver a blow, and he did, but Robinson is also 6'2". The Patriots player should have, and probably saw the hit coming. Of he wasn't looking then he probably was looking for the hit from somewhere else and just looked the wrong way. I'm not mad at Robinson for celebrating because it could be his only time to shine. Takes me back to the cut block on Thibedeau, or however you spell it. He was not expecting the cut block, but he also had the wrong reaction to the cut block. He turned his body and folded. He was supposed to place his hands on shoulder pads and keep the cut block away from his body/legs. I know because I'm a defensive lineman lol.....That is all.
  21. Might need to go back and check again.....Ian Thomas did attend TEU
  22. Yeah, I'm not buying.....good read though. The biggest difference between us and LOB is that they had long rangy corners, but no speed. They were in a cover 3 shell for the most part...running the seams beats cover 3. We have physical corners/safeties with speed that will allow us to press, play man, and send pressure at the QB. We are not the same....
  23. I really feel like this is setting up exactly like the Russell Wilson situation in Seattle......
