I've never been a fan of him. I've watched a ton of Big 12 ball (easily the best conference in the Nation). The past few years and he's a twat. When OU beat them in the Big 12 Tournament. The game was our of reach, and he went and dunked the ball with 5 seconds left then raised the roof. I don't mind a troll, but that was absolutely moronic.

Eh. This thread is the thread to start the series. Most people are forward looking individuals. I enjoyed the W last night with a fresh beer from OMB. After that, I looked toward Wednesday. I was even looking at Boston's roster last night going forward to see how they stacked up vs us going forward for years to come. Bergeron is 36 so we won't have to deal with him much longer, Marchand is 33 and on the decline. Only people we have to worry about is Pasta, and McAvoy. Not a big McAvoy fan. Reminds me of a younger Marchand without the offensive skill going forward.

Oh, I appreciate it. But the difference is, if he comes out in game 2 and sucks will he be remembered for this game 1 performance? I don't think so. We need him to be consistently great, and he's shown he can't do that throughout his career. Glad he balled out game 1. Now we need him to do the same continuously throughout this series.

I mean, statistic wise. Svech is barely top 50 in goals and tied for 51st in points. He's 73rd in Assists. So I understand it from an NHL wide perspective. But Playoff perspective? No. Doesn't make much sense.

I text my buddy that last night, and he's kind of like a poster on here. He said "you just don't want to give him credit. He's been great tonight." I legit laughed at great. He was solid, but not great.

Exactly. In the end, as the ESPN announcer said. It's just one game. He's not wrong. Sure, the team that wins the first game wins the Series 68% of the time. It's clearly a big game to win, but if we're depending on Raanta for the long haul. Color me skeptical still.

Still early in the Series. Just one game. Lets hold on until the Series is over before we make a declaration that Raanta is going to win the Stanley Cup. With Anderson out until next Series we're going to see how good and consistent Raanta truly is going forward.

If he plays like ass tonight, we lose game 1. That's not a positive from any perspective, and him playing like ass could swing any momentum in this series. This is a huge gamble on Rods part. Especially with how well Pyotr played vs the Rangers (sans those two weird late goals). No point in any fan rallying behind him, we don't play for the team. I want a W, and I'll root for him to not be trash in the 1st period tonight. But if he is, I won't be shocked.
