I think in that Hawks game Thomas got like 2-3 offensive rebounds in the first half. Out hustling Hornets players on the boards. Hurt my soul.

Isn't what the scouting report said. And I think he's a solid/good player, but he's damn sure not the star we expected. And I backed that up with facts/stats. I don't understand why you guys have to get in your feelings. He's a top 50 NHL player. Nothing worse, nothing better. I just expected top 10-20 by now. And he's, well. Not that. Not by a long shot.

Eh. If he wasn't so bad last year, and basically putting up the same stats as he did in year 2 I would be a bit more optimistic. I expected a big jump after last year. And all we got was year 2 again.

When you're supposed to be this offensive juggernaut as his scouting report/Draft profile said he was going to be. By year 4, you're supposed to show some semblance of that. His Draft comparisons were Ovi and Vladimer Tarasenko. Ovi year 4 goals: 56 goals Clearly that's a way off projection. Tarasenko's year 4 goals: 40 goals. This isn't going to happen. Don't take it serious, if you want. This is why I expected more. Because what this Draft Profile told me, isn't what I'm seeing on the ice. Not even close. According to his year to year stat output he had 24 goals in 68 games back in 19-20. Now he had 30 in 75. Seems like he's remaining close to the same player to me. Also had 37 assists back in 19-20. You keep saying he's "getting better" but looking at his present stats/facts, compared to his past stats/facts. I would say he's the same player. Shrugs.

Hes been a solid player, but he was expected to be a go to guy. It's been 4 years and he's still not that. Kind of disappointing so far.

He's still made some stupid penalties this year, just not as many as last year.

We need go to scoring more than great passers of the puck at this point. Svech went 16 games with just 1 goal in February/March. And went 11 games without a goal in December. Can't do that when you're supposed to be a star.

Everyone said that this year to be fair, and last year he was pretty bad in the grand scheme. I don't see it. After 4 years, if you haven't hit 40 goals in one season where he's been really healthy. Gives me tremendous pause going forward.

Exactly. Agreed. I got a few buddies that are bigger Canes fans than I am that say the exact same thing. We lack that go to guy when it's needed. Or when a hot goalie is on us and our game plan of throw pucks at the net and pray isn't working (which happens often).

They don't count Playoffs. I would hope he would get 40 in the Playoffs. Even John Buccigross a month or two ago said we lacked that go to scorer, but I digress.

Aho isn't even top 15, and Svech isn't even top 40 in goals scored and I'm being picky? Come on man. I mean, really? Neither one is close to 50 goals. And won't get to 50. Seriously? I'm not sure Aho will get to 40 either. Svech was expected to be a scoring machine and he's been very meh his career so far. Please don't bring up a bunch of guys that can't get timely goals when we need them. Aho is the only guy that to me, can get those timely goals. Svech has gone on runs this year when he didn't score a goal for 15 games and 10 games. That's not exactly a scoring machine.

He's been useless defensively. Wish we could find a Matthews then. That's something we don't have either. Aho's tied for 18th in goals. Not even top 15. Svech goal wise...........been a disappointment compared to his scouting report. I expected him to be a goal machine. Instead, he's well. Eh.

Been saying it for months. Not sure why anyone was caping for him. JAG at his finest. Put the goalie with actual potential in and lets see what he's got.

Guy has 50 goals at the young age of 37 (in September). He's a scorer. LOL.

Eh. Read an article the other day that stated they didn't expect him to be a top line scorer in the long run. We need go to scorers like an Ovi. We just don't have that. Aho's close, but not there YET.
