  1. I don't mind the college football thread in the main forum. However, when their starts becoming a new thread for every new thought about a college QB it sort of defeats the puropose of forums or even topics.
  2. I think it's virtually impossible to communicate to everyone the potential of these situations. And who would believe it. I don't know how you build infrastructure to withstand such things. It's just insane
  3. https://www.noaa.gov/news-release/communities-need-to-prepare-for-catastrophic-life-threatening-inland-flooding-from-helene-even-well https://raysweather.com/insights/fujiwhara?fbclid=IwY2xjawFqhxBleHRuA2FlbQIxMAABHQzdgIT6cIt4lyT99JdAYkzrhr_TQBAQV-EHE20ClY7A5MBZmVCHyFmWrg_aem_Zp6LitNmUDO5m7Ljn7PNHg https://raysweather.com/insights/37850978?fbclid=IwY2xjawFqhu1leHRuA2FlbQIxMAABHZVMMDvgdcZ7iZUEqRn_grEllrREd6xRiwj9dogouZZD8RIvESKyTA_JJw_aem_oWqp8HFpxoNBebEjR4y0Wg People knew and warnings of catastrophic flooding started on Wednesday the 25th. NOAA specifically mentiond Asheville. They urged news agencies with red text to focus on warning the public . When I mentioned it here on the first page I had been seeing things for a day and chatting with other weather nerds for a day. Even then there were people downplaying it here. The sources I heard it from don't say things like catastrophic for fun. I am not blaming people but it wasnt a surprise. It's next to impossible to uproot and go for most everyone.
  4. It's rather common. In Geology at ASU we did a field trip to various major landslides that are attributed to historic tropical systems. Mountain floods are common and have huge potential due to the topography and orographic lifting. (Mountains enhancing precipitation)
  5. I realize nobody pays attention to details and how things work. How aid has always worked. They are not given cash. US companies are paid to produce items that are sent to these countries. The money stays here. If you all of sudden care about infrastructure then support the lawmakers who vote to fund infrastructure products not against them.
  6. Sea fossils in mountains were deposited on ocean or sea floors and uplifted in to mountains via the movement of plates, continental crust collisions, sea floor subduction, etc. 4+ billion years of mountain building and eroding and building repeated. They weren't washed up there.
  7. Injuries are demoralizing.......yeesh
  8. Not when you've seen Shocker posts in various places for like 20 years
  9. Rivers bested him in every statistical category. Those 2 SB wins were the only thing that makes it a conversation https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2872689-comparing-2004-nfl-draft-qbs-career-stats-after-eli-mannings-giants-retirement
  10. Bur everyone knows those runs didn't match his overall career. It's the defining characteristic and heart of the debate.
  11. Horn, Robinson, Clowney, Woods, Fuller, Thompson are legit starters. Not upper tier by any means but have started everywhere they've been.
  12. Fine, Rivers was the better QB and the Chargers also got an extra 1st, 3rd, and fifth out of it.
  13. I hope we arent drafting first in 2 years
  14. I don't see him being retained barring some unquestionable turnaround. I assumed he could scheme some sort of respectability even with a weak roster.
  15. Finally heard from a friend in Brevard. He had to mountain bike up to the Parkway to get a signal. "Fortunately" no high water at his home but branches through the roof. Can't get out because of closed roads
  16. Sucks to lose but I'm not too upset. I feel like everyone forgot it was going to take time to rebuild from the depths. This is what I expected a decent offense coach trying to turn around a franchise to look like. I hope Canales knows some defensive coordinator prospects
  17. This defense blows. I didn't expect it to be good buy I thought it could be ok ish Burrow is doing what I feared.
  18. If Deion is pushing him to play both then he's going to ruin that dudes career. Sad.
  19. FWIW Richard Sherman says he's clearly a CB and that there's no way he's playing both in NFL.
