He wasn't the GM who picked Young as much as frank repeats the best friends line we don't know. Beane was assistant to Gettleman and Hurney and doesn't suffer for it. His first year free agents and draft picks have fared well. There was no real need to bring in someone this year. Young as number 1 needs to prove what he is. We weren't winning anything this year. I don't know what people keep expecting miracle seasons without the work.

Our defense is worse than our offense. The other teams offense goes against our defense not our QB. Their offense is worse than our's and has been so that's not some knee jersey reaction to Bryce Young. That makes no sense. I know what you are suggesting but there's a more logical connection here.
