    I'm rather fine with nobody jumping to pay an athlete 45 million a year and throw 2 picks away. The precedent of that being the norm doesn't help the sport from a fans perspective. I don't have any pity for any of these big names dealing with the atrocity of a measly 35 million a year.

    If using the Spotrac projections just keep Foreman another year at roughly half price of Harris. And give him a 2 year deal

    They'd get him for the year below the exclusive tag rate while also negotiating with someone who found out his asking price was too much

    How this tag works Another team has to negotiate a contract taking in to account the automatic loss of two first round picks. Then the Raven just match it or not. If no contract is negotiated and no takers then the Ravens get him for a year at a bargain compared to the exclusive tag.

    I get the I impression his interests were broader than covering things directly. He was more in to being more of the leader of the media department.

    I feel like people get some specific gratification about drafting 1st overall for the sake of it. The "just trade to 1 to be safe" strategy seems really absurd. It's emotion driven.

    That's an odd thing to say a this point. Teams wouldn't have grades on these guys yet. They haven't finished the combine. They haven't had visits. They have pretty much just started their draft evaluations based on the explanations of how the timetables work for the draft. Now maybe the key point is that they are saying scouts grades and not final team grades or draft boards.

    Nothing against him. He is a special talent. But I don't really miss him either. I also doubt the top tier coaches wouldn't have been too game to come here if the franchise tanked. That's not reality

    They were building a brand new facility. So while the reason it fell through likely involves ownership mistakes it's not like he refused to address these things.
