Mike Kaye: Panthers going after starting C
csx replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
the tweet several have attempted to post doesn't mention "starting C" -
Would keeping Burns require another big D-line addition?

If the best player at 33 is on defense then so be it. Best player is the only way to approach this roster. -
Ughhhh......remember everyone saying we HAD to pull the trigger on Mayfield?

Are we low-key tanking? Donnelly thinks we're half-tanking.

Corral is the only one of them affecting our cap now other than Young which isn't much. The issue isn't cap it's draft picks. -

I'm no more or less confident in them than anyone else they could have hired. Only time will tell. -

The only potential fix is a slow one. -
I honestly dont care about the owner or owner wife interview. Its meaningless. But that certainly didn't go well.

I think he was doing what his coach and owner wanted and wasn't good at the flawed approach -

I just don't see rebuilding as tanking being the same thing. The good franchises aren't victims of draft position. They regularly draft at the end of the first and find good players. We need to hope we we can fill our roster with the types of players the Ravens, Chiefs, Bills, etc find. Because picking top 10 hasn't worked for us or the other bottom feeders. -

They've been constanty making panic moves thinking they would become winners. -

I see tanking as purposely losing to get a draft pick. I'm not sure that's what we are trying. If we are rebuilding a foundation then I hope that's what we are doing. I believe they will try to win but with the hopefully the understanding that freak out acquisitions won't help. -
Carolina Panthers will have trouble building roster for 2024
csx replied to jayboogieman's topic in Carolina Panthers
At least many of you are grasping length of the path to being competitive again. There still seemed to be those thinking we are a big free agent or 2 and a second rd WR draft away. Ps.....Chris Jones and Calvin Ridley are not in our plans -

This should be where you stop listening to them on this topic. -
Those other guys played run defense very well. Yall want to pay a 1 dimensional second tier pass rusher a premier contract why?

He couldn't have said more explicitly that he left for a change of location. He straight up says it would have been different if he hadn't gone to school in NC.

Not.

https://pantherswire.usatoday.com/2023/07/19/panthers-julius-peppers-hall-of-honor-bears-packers/ “There were a lot of things going on at that time,” he added. “But yeah, the personal growth was one of the things that was like a driving force and that decision. You know, I loved it here. I love the Carolinas. But there was a part of me that just wanted to go, go see something different. I think that if I had gone to high school here and gone to college in, I don’t know, Miami, or New York or wherever, anywhere, any other city, right, and then got drafted by the Panthers, I probably would have had a different feeling. “But the thing from being born and raised, going to school here, coming to the Panthers, it was lovely; it was a perfect scenario. But I think I got a little bit fatigued with the whole thing. It was overwhelming at times. Whatever you want to call it, the celebrity, you know, it was a little bit much at the time.”

Huh? Peppers left because he explicitly wanted to
-
He's been tagged. He's either kept or traded at this point. Unless you are dumbass Dave Gettleman
-
This was the first out year in Jacksons contract. It's not really surprising timing.

You might want to read up on that group a bit. Even if they weren't a front for the former owner it would not erase other native groups stances or speak for all natives.
