They went to CJ's mother's funeral because after DW's mother's funeral they admitted they could have done more and talked to him about it. They made a new team policy to address such situations. They dealt with this and moved on but he decided to bring it up the day he gets released in a sensationalized lead up to the interview. The issue is really Deangello's little game yesterday IMO.

I've never been to or been expected to go to the funeral of a friend's family member. I would never ever want to. If I was specifically close to the person who died than sure. How many people here would go to a coworker's mother's funeral. Even a coworker you were close to?

You plan for weddings. Weddings are enjoyable. Funerals for teammate family members happening out of town during the off season are not something anyone is going to flock to. I'm not sure how that is TMZ material as much as basic human behavior.

This is more than a little bit absurd. Gettleman is the one who made the decision to tender Bell last year and not bring in any other tackles. Rivera played the only guy he had. Your perception is so far from reality.

A friend and co worker is going through something similar this week. He is taking off to go to the funeral but only mentioned why to a select few at work. It's not something he wants to be out there. I doubt he would want the company to bring it up at all.
