lol.  Just take your L on how wrong you were about Matt Rhule and move on.  Quit bringing it back up.  Like all the Matt Rhule sucks threads, don't enter if you don't want to hear a comment on the subject.

and no, the Super Bowl game where we got hosed on that many bad and impactful calls isn't the "ball bouncing the wrong way".  The ball does sometimes bounce your way or against you though.

The league/officials put their hands clearly on the scales when it came to Payton's exist from the NFL and Cam attempting to take the reins.

Scramble scramble.  Your mental gymnastics are impressive only in your mind.  They're hilarious to the rest of the world. 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣

We got screwed by the refs.  You're still bitching about it 7 years later after preaching and preaching about how that just happens in the NFL and if you have any mistakes in your game, that's why you lost.

    🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣

Please tell me again.  Why did we lose Superbowl 50?

yep.  Refs made the ultimate difference.  Those big Bronco plays were all aided by overlooking penalties.   Almost every game changing play the Broncos had included a hit to the head or illegal bat of the ball.   And they won the game off those select plays.

I agree 100%.  Funny coming from you, who went on and on about how that's just life in the NFL and if you lost, you deserved to lose with all of the other imperfections in your game.   Here you are still complaining about a game 7+ years later. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

  3. Sanders was in a great position for a RB last year with an awesome OL and QB who can run to draw the linebackers.    We will be a good test to see how good he truly is.

I would feel a whole lot better if we kept Foreman as well but he wanted   RB#1.     I would feel better knowing there is another RB there before we put Chuba-oops I dropped the ball again-Hubbard on the field.

we could use some power in the backfield

There it is.  I've been hoping we bring in a power RB.   Hopefully something like this happens.

How is that trashing him though?

Im basically saying Bryce seems more focused on football.

Its amazing how much some still cling to S2troud.  Oh no, someone on the Panthers board ripped on the rookie QB for Houston!

He's a QB for a different team.  IDAF about S2troud.

It was never, ever, going to be S2troud.  Ever.  Some people just need to move on.

  6. Predicting Every NFL Team's Biggest Bust of the 2023 NFL Season

"The Panthers should temper expectations, though. Much of Sanders' breakout season last year was due to one of the best offensive lines in football and positive game scripts. According to Player Profiler, Sanders enjoyed the best game script of anyone in the league and was eighth in run-blocking rating.

He didn't rank nearly as high in the metrics that are more reflective of his running like juke rate (35th) or breakaway run rate (29th).

Sanders is a solid back with good blocking. But telling a fanbase that just saw Christian McCaffrey in his prime that Sanders is going to be a star is setting them up for disappointment."

    ...

I just pray he stays healthy because there's not a lot of good depth after him.  I wish there would have been a way to get Foreman to stay.

I know, right. There's a bit of revisionist history going on in this thread. I remember when the OP was leaning towards Stroud. He came around though. He never jumped all-in on the Young hate-train though. I will give him that.

Yeah.   Some of them truly live in their own little world.

I believe the entire key to our defense will be how the backend performs.  If Horn and Jackson stay healthy, I think this defense could be very special.  We have many good players up front.

The keys are Jackson and Horn and that is my worry.  Neither seem to be able to stay healthy.  Our only other hope is that others on the roster step up in a big way.

However, if they do stay healthy Evero will be able to do many exciting things with our defense.  He's a proved DC that can lead a top 10 defense.  No reason we shouldn't be inside the top 10.

    Let's go.

Assuming Jackson's achilles doesn't slow him down.  The D looked downright putrid at times last year.  I'm not sure we invested enough in it in this off season.

Eh, preseason rankings are all speculation.  They should all carry the following disclaimers:

    • They are based on the limitations of what we know
    • Past performance is not an indicator of future results
    • All other things being equal

Some players that are expected to be in the top echelon of their positions will not.  Some that are not expected to be will.  Some teams will develop a chemistry and prove that the sum of the whole is greater than the sum of the parts.  Some talent-laden teams may implode due to no chemistry, refuting what the previous group proved.  Injuries will take out players or dash entire teams' hopes.  Some teams may magically avoid the injury bug.  It is possible some coach will implode.  Or one that is a "dead man walking" will suddenly spring to life.

There are just too many variables to get hung up on preseason rankings.  They serve their purpose, and give us something to talk about when there is not much else to talk about.

    Exactly.

    https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-wide-receiver-rankings-and-tiers-2022

Thielen was ranked higher than Julio Jones, Beckham, Locket, Cooper and  DJ Moore in preseason last year, after a 700 yard season in 2021.

He had another 700 yard season last year so now he sucks I guess.
