  1. If Rhule truly was the only reason Elf was playing, Bozeman should be out there this Sunday. PJ has more practice snaps with Bozeman than Elf and the QB/Center connection is crucial. If there was ever a time to make the switch, its this week.
  2. Can't wait to see what PJ does in a McAdoo offense. If McAdoo can do for PJ what he did for Eli, we're gonna win.
  3. Looking forward to seeing the changes in who starts and PT.
  4. Absolutely fantastic cast. Stewart's testimonial on Wilks was very encouraging. Sounds like a true leader of men. Hopefully it will show in the W column.
  5. Its funny Rhule's gone so now we're propping up PJ as a SB champ beater. I guess stranger things have happened. Hope you're right.
  6. Actually, frank, he gets the whole rest of the season. Lets see what he can do.
  7. Wilks is trying to set that tone, so that is a first step...gotta do something to fix that O tho.
  8. I was thinking about a simple change he could do that would throw off the Rams. People talk about it here all the time, but I think times like this call for out of the box measures. Move CMC to slot, and put Foreman in the backfield. They will have to respect both. You don't have to change the scheme that much. The biggest change would be for CMC who as an elite player could handle it. It will preserve CMC, throw off the D, leverage Foreman, and upgrade a receiver spot.
  9. The follow up question was that 1st and 2nd down wasn't the problem in the Cardinals game, that they failed on 3rd and short, 4th and short repeatedly. The response was that we need to finish, to execute.
  10. Especially since Wilks said simplify about 10 times. McAdoo is known for that complicated O with a callsheet the size of a Cheesecake Factory menu. DJ in preseason was talking about how complicated the new O was. Wilks probably told McAdoo to pair it down.
  11. I'm not sure why there's so much defense for Fit. Rhule and Tepper chose Fit. The roster moves and contracts Rhule wanted, Fit happily made happen, and there isn't any indication that Fit disagreed or had a strong conviction against them, in fact quite the contrary. Sam, Baker, Chuba, Henderson, Elflein, Erving, TMJ, Fletcher, Johnson (remember him), trading away Perriman.... Fit made all those happen. Fit has not shown some great ability to evaluate talent in the draft or otherwise. When asked about Fit, Tepper said, Fit is our GM....you know, like "Sam is our quarterback" last spring.
  12. They were 8-8 the year before Wilks took over. Wilks took them to a league worst 3-13. His and Holcomb's D was 26th in points allowed (with Peterson, Reddick and Jones). Wilks staff changes so far have been D and special teams, the two performing units. Our problem is offense, mostly QB play, scheme and play calling. Its possible PJ doesn't play like PJ and we see improvement in QB. Its possilbe Sam Darnold then takes over and plays better than Baker. Its possible McAdoo makes the right adjustments with Wilk's guidance and the scheme and playcalling improves. Just doesn't seem likely. Wilks is loved by former Panthers players and he has a commanding presence. He played a part in a great D that was absolutely loaded to the tits with talent. We'll see what he can do with this crew.
  13. I think that's why Tepper pulled the plug. If Baker is out 4-6 weeks, he is not going to ever get acclimated to what McAdoo is trying to do. Whatever hope he had was gone at that point. The season was already over.
  14. The question that set off the Fowler/Tepper tiff was: why now? I think Baker's injury played a role. We were 1-4 after an easy part of the schedule, but Tepper was probably hoping that McAdoo and Baker just needed to get acclimated and settle in. But with Baker out, there would be no acclimation and we were walking into the buzzsaw of Rams, Bucs, Ravens and Bengals with PJ at the helm. If Baker is indeed out 6 weeks, Tepper concluded the season was over already.
  15. The Carolina Panthers are reportedly "very willing" to "eat salary" to complete trades involving Christian McCaffrey and Robbie Anderson, according to Jason La Canfora of the Washington Post. I guess you have to ask Jason La Canfora of the Washington Post.
