Interesting info about Wilks at Arizona
poundaway replied to ladypanther's topic in Carolina Panthers
Holcomb (DC), McCoy (OC) and Jeff Rodgers(ST) all spent time with Wilks on the Panthers, but he didn't select any of them? He hated his staff so much he elevated Holcomb again here? I call BS. -
We have one of the best, if not THE best slogan....with a HOF legend to go with it. I wouldn't trade it. Would you rather be "Who Dat?" Most of them suck: Panthers: Keep Pounding Falcons: Rise Up Saints: Who Dat? Buccaneers: Fire the Cannons Patriots: Do your Job Bills: Circle the Wagons Dolphins: Fins Up! Jets: J-E-T-S JETS! JETS! JETS! Steelers: Whatever It Takes ( I Think ) Bengals: WHO DEY? Browns: Dawg pound Ravens: Never Less Texans: Bulls on Parade Colts: For the Show Jaguars: DUUUUUVAL Titans: Titan Up! Broncos: United in Orange Chiefs: Chiefs Kingdom Chargers: Bolt Up Raiders: Raider Nation Cowboys: How Bout them 'boys! Giants: G-Men Eagles: Fly, Eagles, Fly Commodores: ? Bears: Bear Down Lions: One Pride Packers: Go Pack Go! Vikings: SKOL! Cardinals: Rise up Red Sea Rams: Horns Up 49ers: Faithful To the Bay Seahawks: Go hawks?

Its an interesting situation. We have an interim HC who is currently suing the NFL for setting him up to fail. Selling off our assets will help that case. The offers are going to have to be amazing so we can say it was too good to pass up.

MrCompletelyWrong I didn't post the shock the world thread.

Thank god RR was coach then. We never would have made it without him.
-
I'd tell you two get a room, but we all know your just a Frank alt. He's your favorite pie.
-
That's rich coming from someone who celebrates losses, kicking old threads...oh and feel free to keep your Rhule fetish as long as you want. I know you're lost atm without someone to hate on and to rile the mob up against. It'll be ok sugar pie. You'll find lots of stuff about the panthers to hate.
-
Dude. You heard wrong. He works for the Bills. Oh and he's no genius.
-
I think the question Scott asked was when exactly Tepper decided to fire Rhule. Tepper gave an answer, Scott didn't like it so he badgered. Its not a "tough question" and really, nobody gives a fnck. Tepper fncked up, the Rhule experiment failed. Tepper has pissed off a lot people, which owners do. Scotts trying to get clicks, which the media does. They really can both be asses.

I'm not the one with obsession. Nice avatar.

Poor Frank desperately looking for a pity party for Matt Rhule. Don't worry there still be plenty bad stuff for you write negative posts about, I promise. Really, it'll be ok Frank. At the very least you can post over and over about bad Rhule WAS.

Person analyzes Rhule's time as Panthers coach
poundaway replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
There have been open throws that Baker just plain missed. A change in QB could make a difference. Lets see if PJ can get through a game without an int. -
If PJ just throws more accurately than Baker, the O is going to look better. Baker has been horrid. At the point CMC can't catch it, its a real bad throw. Wilks himself said the problem was execution. His problem was with the D philosophy. He has said nothing about the O philosophy. If it was me, I'd put CMC in the slot, Foreman in the backfield and make them respect both. It will preserve CMC, upgrade the receiving core, and require little change to the rest of the O. Foreman can catch so we still have a good checkdown. The more talent we have the field, the easier to find the mismatch.

Wilks should get more wins than Rhule, he has a lot more games with some bad teams left on the schedule. -
CMC can't run the ball every down. Baker was so bad, he threw balls even CMC couldn't catch. If PJ just doesn't play Baker-bad, the O is going to look better.

But just writing that would make for a very short article. What was your record prediction for the year? What were your game predictions again? -
I agree with most of what you said. In the end, though, it was just as @CRA said. Mcadoo's offense was ass his last two years in NY, so what we're seeing is a continuation of suckage.
-
We are probably going to have a decent draft pick we don't have to tank to get a good QB. The Jets, Jags and Browns tanked many times for QB's and it didn't work out for them several times. The Bills, Bucks, Rams, Chiefs, Broncos, Pats, 9ers, Cowboys, Packers, Ravens and Eagles did not tank for their QB's.
-
I don't know. I was disappointed with keeping McAdoo in place and firing defensive and ST coaches, as if that's where the problem is. I forgot that Wilks had to have his DC duties relieved by RR, and as I recall, the D looked better when RR took over. In any case, hopefully he's only giving McAdoo a couple weeks to get his head out of is ass or to transition someone in. In the end, if we get better QB play, we'll be a better team. Lets hope PJ gives us that.
-
I agree with that Saints game at the end of 2018. RR played to win the game, keeping in most of the starters (except Cam). We dominated the whole game. Tanking the last game of the season, fine. Tanking the last 12 games of the season...I'll pass. We'll probably end up tanking anyhow, its what Tepper is trying to do. But it really all comes down to PJ in the end. If PJ plays smarter than he has ever played, we could upset some teams.

Posting that you're tired of the Rhule-bitching is not defending Rhule. Hoping the team wins is not defending Rhule. I have posted many times that Rhule sucked and that only wins will change that narrative. He didn't win. The closest to defending Rhule was when people were saying that RR walked into the same situation Rhule did. RR didn't, and it wasn't even close. I did say there were a lot of people who hated Rhule. There are. Some have even admitted it. As for the moment the D and ST already look competent, yet that is where Wilks made his staff changes. The problem is the O, particularly QB play. He could have fired McAdoo and elevated someone on the O positional staff. We have some talented people there. He didn't. Wilks has a commanding presence and the players love him. So hopefully he can squeeze out some wins.

I read it. Rhule is what his record says he is, a sucky nfl coach. Sorry I hoped he would win games. As for poor Joe Brady, who was strung along for a whole week. An extra week of prep for Nixon would not have won another game. It just wouldn't. The mistake was hiring the green Brady. The correct action was firing him. As for predictions, your prediction record is pretty weak. Case in point. -
So instead of lowering the bar, we'll just get rid of it all together.
-
The D is top half of the league. The ST are kicking ass. The line has been holding and CMC is healthy. The problem has been the O, specifically QB play. If PJ comes in and plays smart, he'll outplay Baker and we could upset some teams.
