  1. If only Bryce was as tall as Matt Coral, then we wouldn't have to worry about him getting hurt.
  2. So the data says the bigger QBs get hurt MORE. Some huddlers are going to dismiss this right quick.
  3. He's 3/4 inch shorter than Wilson who's won a superbowl. Meanwhile our first round picks in 2021 and 2016 were on the big size for their positions and they were injured and out most of the year. Our 2014 big receiver missed his entire sophomore season due to injury. The 6'2 QB we drafted last year was IR'd in preseason. This notion that bigger guys don't get hurt as often just isn't supported by the data or our experience. How many injured QB's did we go through last year? How many in 2019? Young is going to get hurt as some point, as it appears most QB's do. I bet in the end he doesn't miss anymore games than a typical QB.
  4. Losing in the playoffs sucks. But, like football, basketball is team sport. Hawkins missed the winning shot. Jordan fouled him, no call. Now with the scandal and investigations of what has happened in the NBA, its no surprise.
  5. Hey I loved Bogues. He played here 10 years, mostly as a starter. During his time in Charlotte, the Hornets rose from mediocrity to a serious contender taking the team to the playoffs for the first time and then again the next 2 years. He still holds the steal record for the Hornets. He wasn't great at rebounds or blocked shots tho. You're right he's no Steph Curry, but who is?
  6. It be nice to see what its like on the other side of that.
  7. Just curious for those who are very concerned about Young's height.... Lets pretend Stroud was drafted last year, and this year it was between Young, Richardson and Levis, who would you choose?
  8. I understand why people are uncomfortable with Young's height as it may or may not correlate with durability. I often thought that Cam's size and athleticism, at least in part, contributed to some of those roughing the passer NON-calls. Refs had the attitude, "he can take it". I wonder if that works in the other direction.
  9. I thought this thread was about sheme-fit over talent. So I asked what element of Riech's scheme requires a taller QB. Still waiting. This notion that Reich wants the taller QB because he has had taller QB's in the past is just conjecture. Reich himself has said as much.
  10. The drop off in D last year with the loss of Reddick was jaw dropping. Pressure the QB and you make your corners look better. Henderson has been horrible with little sign of hope. Jackson did not have a great year even before the achilles. Horn broke another bone. We need a great corner. We need a great DE to help those corners.
  11. Maybe. If they pick the one Tepper prefers, he's shown that he's willing to cut some slack. Until we traded to 1, we were in QB hell. When Carr went to the Saints we were either going to pay a fortune for Lamar, or roll the dice on the draft.
  12. Maybe. I was thinking AR may have been the target early on because 1)We originally tried to trade to 3 but it wasn't much more to go to 1. If you look at 3 you are considering the 3rd best QB. 2)We traded to the #1 spot right after Richardson's amazing show at the combine 3)Fitterer loved RAS scores. Then I watched the tape. Richardson absolutely did NOT have the coaching, line or weapons that Stroud or Young had and the pocket collapsed routinely so its truly hard to say, but it didn't look awesome. Now I think we just shopped 3 to help justify the price of 1. The timing was driven by us losing the bidding war with the Saints over Carr and RAS scores has never driven Fit on a QB. No I don't think Richardson is in the mix now that I've watched a few games of all three.
  13. I think there is some truth to that. Whoever we pick is going to look better than whoever Houston picks, at least at first. Our line, weapons, D and coaching look better atm and our division looks worse than Houston's. We're the 9th worst team in the league, not the 2nd worst.
  14. Herb Brooks was looking for players that play well TOGETHER, not hot shots taking the puck the length of the ice. Its why the all star team was defeated by the Soviets. People are projecting that Reich has had taller QB's before, so he'll want one now, but he has said the exact opposite. So what exactly about Reich's scheme requires a taller QB?
  15. Great opening drive, then int in the ez. Then a lot of poor play by Young, the line and the WRs. LSU rushing 6 a lot. Then this https://youtu.be/LNDX3R6fYWQ?t=529 magic. Successful 2 min drill to take it OT. I can live with that.
  16. The reverse is also true. If you pick Stroud and Young tears it up while Stroud has trouble transitioning, the GM may end up unemployed. Both are pretty accurate, had decent weapons, sat behind excellent lines and faced tough competition. Both have shown magic. Stroud is 5 inches taller, heavier, and appears to have a slightly bigger arm. Young just appears smarter, sneakier, and quicker than Stroud. Its hard to measure those things, and who knows how either is going to progress in those areas. We know Young is not going to get taller. If Young was Stroud's height, I don't think there would be as many Stroud supporters. Right now, I'm leaning toward Young. I'd like to watch Young's worst game, does anybody know what Young's worst game was?
  17. I think Young was just following the Kylar Murray script of pigging out for 3 days to weigh in, and then not doing any combine drills because he was in no condition to do that. They're about the same height.
  18. Maybe it's Richardson. He's probably the only one fast enough to catch his own passes.
