Care to share how you would scheme around a qb with less that ideal arm strength and not being able to stand tall in the pocket? How about when he gets up there in the years do you think he will be an elite qb when whatever physical skills he has diminish..I'm interested to know or all you can do is post links and poo all day

Smitty only 5'9, shorter than Bryce and played a position with a much higher injury rate.

So, Smitty, Olsen, Davis, and Cam are on the Bryce train. Luke dismissed the durability concerns.

Alright Cam's on the Bryce train.

He didn't do well on some metric so he didn't want to release his score. Its the same reason why Young only weighed in at the combine, or Stroud didn't run the 40.
Young took a ton of flack around here for only weighing in.
These players are trying to hide their flaws and show their strengths to maximize draft position. Who can blame them?
If Stroud becomes our QB, then I'll wish him the best.
But it looks like he'll end up on a competitor, in which case I won't.

Only half the teams in the league have signed up for the S2 thing. I'm assuming teams aren't going to share the results to the other teams that don't pay for it, if that's how it works. If the leaks were that easy no one would pay for it
If a team believes in S2 and needed it to evaluate their picks, they signed up for it. If a team doesn't believe in S2, they don't care about the score anyway. S2 was baked into the draft. The leaks, and how they've been handled, only effect public perception.

Good stuff. I think Thielen is past his point of being an elite outside WR but will excel in the slot which is huge for a young QB and makes him a great pickup. I can see him getting 1000 yards 10+ TDs honestly. But he's not really going to be a guy teams gameplan for, that's what we're missing on offense is one of those guys. Maybe Sanders could be it but I think that's unlikely. None of our WRs or TEs come close. For now we'll hope for great coaching and QB play to outweigh not having that stud offensive skill player that other teams have to account for every snap. Whether it's a WR or TE doesn't really matter
Yeah we still don't have a tier 1 WR and though Hurst has more production than Thomas and Tremble, its not hard to beat ~150 yards in a 17 game season.
There have been flashes from Thielen, TMJ, Chark, Shenault, Byrd, Hurst and even Smith. Hopefully our HC, OC and new QB can bring more out of them. -
I was curious the difference between Thielen and DJ.
40 time- Thielen:4.45 DJ:4.56
Height: Thielen:6' 2" DJ:5' 11"
Weight: Thielen:200 DJ:215
Age: Thielen:32, DJ:26PFF Thielen: 65.0, 74.6, 87.4, 75.9, 89.4
PFF DJ: 73.9, 76.9, 79.1, 82.2, 71.8Last season's stats:
Thielen: 70/103 for 716 yds, 6 TDs
DJ: 63/109 for 888 yds 7 TDsObviously they are two different receivers with very different QB, competition and team situations. Thielen is 32 and had a relatively down year last year, we're hoping he hasn't lost his production due to age. Preseason last year PFF ranked Thielen 19th and Moore 25th in the WR rankings. It was a good pick up in a attempt to bandage a terrible loss.

We all went into the thing with ideas inclinations...the scouts were way ahead of us.

I agree we need someone. They see Sanders as that 3 down back. I hope they bring in someone like a Fournette type vet on a cheap deal. I just feel the RB room is missing something and in case of injury, I would hate to be reliant on Chuba.

I was swayed by the overall sentiment that there was little difference between BY and the bigger QBs and that it wasn't worth his smaller frame, until I watched the tapes. Watching his tape and the other QB's tape, I think it would be a mistake to pass on Young.

It's worth noting that the lack of explosive plays for Bama this past season was likely due to them not having a speedster at WR to act as their deep threat. Tyler Harrell transferred in from Louisville and was supposed to be that player for them but he didn't see the field until late October against Mississippi State due to a foot injury that plagued him all season.
That left Jermaine Burton (who played the role of their X after transferring in from Arkansas), Ja'Corey Brooks, Traeshon Holden, and Kobe Prentice to be the main four WRs. Prentice has speed, but he was also a freshman learning the offense.
Couple that with how poorly the Alabama OL played and I can understand the lower explosive play percentage.
Yeah. I'd love to see these numbers for 2021 season.

RR wasted a lot of talent, I think he is overrated here as a coach. He's had 3 winning seasons in 12.
That said, Rhule was the worst Panthers coach ever.
