Great post. I'm not sure that what we've added that will account for Reddick though. YGM, though good, does not produce the pressure on passing downs that Reddick does and I don't think the rookie Barno is going to be the answer this year.

TBF the tweet was showing IMPROVEMENT in dead cap. We were #1 in dead cap in 2020. We are now 13th. When you consider that Kalil, Luke, Olsen, Poe, and Gano are 36.7M of the 122M, I don't think you can put all of the 3 year total on the current management. Those contracts were signed long before they got here. Kalil had a 5 year 55 million contract that we signed in 2017 that was the largest dead cap hit in 2020 at 10M. You simply cannot blame that on the current management. That was on nippleshorts.

OK We were discussing whether D's points allowed was the only measure of a D. It is an important measure just not the complete picture, especially when you are as lopsided as we were. As for my statement on the D in the playoffs. In the playoffs, KC scored 47 against NE, 42 against Buffalo, but only 24 against Cincinnati. Tennessee averaged 24 points a game during regular season, Cincinnati held them to 16 points in the playoffs. In SB, Cincinnati led the whole game holding the Rams to 16 points until 4 minutes left in the 4th quarter. Its true that Cincinnati's O was top 10 during the regular season. But in the playoffs, it was their D that got them to and kept them in the SB where they held the Rams to 23 points.

He says its useless, because it is, and always was. All a written test can do is tell how good you will do on that test. It cannot measure "aptitude", or future aptitude. it cannot measure your ability to process or ability learn to play football.

Darnold had a better score than Mayfield, Roethlisberger, Prescott and Mahomes, so I guess we're good to go.

Chubba was a 4th rounder, how could he be a bust? I never said he was a bust. Bust would imply he was supposed to be really good and then was disappointing. Exactly the opposite. I wouldn't have gone into the season relying on a 4th round rookie as my only backup to CMC. I'm not so starry eye enamored with Chuba "oops I dropped the ball" Hubbard. Thank God, you aren't in charge of the roster.

Our offense was 31st in offensive turnovers and 30th in total yards and our punting was average... so starting field position for the D was ass. Its hard to stop points when they are a short distance from FG range. We gave up 32 FGs to 42 TDs. So they stopped the TD nearly 40% of the time. Does anyone know where to find average starting field position?

Thats funny, comparing Chubba to other rookies. Chubba had more YARDS than many rookies because he had more attempts than them and that was only because CMC got hurt, not because Chubba is a an awesome running back. Love you some of that 4th rounder, stone handed, Chubba Hubbard. Love away.

Drops are catchable targets and blamed on the receiver. Its true that the number of carries affects the average, but those were the people with rushes on the team. 3.7 is nothing spectacular as CMC at 4.5 shows. Chubba Hubbard has the worst STONE HANDS in the league. His drop rate is THREE TIMES Robby on CHECKDOWNS. Not sure I understand the love for a sub-par 4th rounder, but whatever. You seem very offended. Are you Chubb's agent or something? If so, good luck.

3.6 looks good, until you look to see that CMC had 4.5 behind that line. In fact Bonnafan, Tremble, Darnold, Newton, Moore and Chandler all had higher YPC. Abdullah was 3.1, but Abduallah could catch.... Hubbard had the highest drop % in the league for any receiver with more than 30 targets. His drop % was THREE TIMES Robby and we are constantly bitching about Robby's drops. Hubbard 's average depth of target was .4 yards. We aren't talking about advanced difficult route running here. Hubbard was dropping CHECKDOWNS. When you have a offense that is very dependent on checkdowns, this hurts, a lot. It got so bad, other teams would intentionally leave Hubbard uncovered hoping we would target him,. Meanwhile his blocking was ass. You cannot be worthless on passing downs in the NFL. You also cannot be a finesse RB in the NFL with stone hands. Hubbard was a rookie, so there's room for grace here, but I would not shed tear if Hubbard doesn't play a down this year. I feel so much better knowing Foreman is there.

Jimmy G yards passing: 3810, 20 TDs, QBR 53, PR 98.7 Sam D yards passing 2527, 9TDs, QBR 33.2, PR 71.9 Its night and day. Jimmy has been to the SB and the conference championship two times over the last 3 years. I agree we shouldn't give up the store, but Sam to JimmyG is the definition of a big upgrade.

I'd love to have JimmyG. He would be a substantial upgrade over Sam. That said, I don't see us trading for a vet QB at this point.

The huddle has predicted that micromanager Rhule will 1) F up the new coach selections. No good coaches will want to come here. 2) Ignore the new coaches OR ignore Fitt during the draft. Our draft is going to suck because we don't have a 2nd or 3rd. Instead... We have NFL experienced coaches who have shown success in their very positions. We have an LT picked at 6, the very FIRST offensive player off the board. We have the QB that our new OC wanted. We have highly rated linemen in Bozeman and Corbett. Now it is possible that the prediction is true that Rhule will play Erving or Elflien over Ikem, Corbet or Bozeman, but I doubt it. In fact I'll bet you avatar for avatar that outside of injury, Ikem, Corbet, Bozeman and Taylor are in the starting lineup day 1.

Teddy had 2 years in the offense before he started playing for the Panthers. The first time we saw Teddy play in this offense, Kyle Allen actually looked better, and we beat them in NO. Teddy looked awful. Sam had a preseason, and by the end of the season we were so depleted on the OL, were on our 13th line configuration. Look, Sam sucks, in fact, I think Teddy is a better QB than Sam, but to say that Sam won't play better with a better line just doesn't sound right.

His best protection was the first three games and is supported by the OL injury history during last season and OL stats support it. His best production was during those games. Some say it is because the Jets and Houston sucked and the aints were depleted, on the road and had covid. ok I guess we'll see. At this point, it looks like Sam is going to start the year. According to you, we should see a shltty Sam the moment we play a difficult team regardless of the OL state.
