  1. We would have paid a lot more in picks and cash. With Corral in the stable, we had more leverage. Grabbing Corral first got us Baker on the cheap, which is the way it should be. We're going to find how good Baker is with less help.
  2. I was against it, but its done. He's our QB1. Go Baker!
  3. "Clown show" Skip loves Baker, hates Sam and hates us. He did not want this trade to happen. Curious his take.
  4. Some interesting takes on Twitter. We traded more to trade up for Corral than we did for Baker.
  5. Cleveland didn't have the best OL in football when they were the worst team in the league. The point is, Baker is not going to perform better in Carolina than he did in Cleveland because the OL, RB contingent and WR group were very very good during his time there. He didn't throw for that many yards in 2020 anyway. Teddy had more yards here in 2020. Cleveland was one of the best running teams in he league. I'm not saying Baker sucks. I'm saying its unlikely that Baker will play better here. He's better than Sam, its just hard to say how much. Sam never, ever, had the #1 OL in the NFL at the end of the end of the season. Ever. What would Baker's career look like at the Jets and then Carolina last year?
  6. At least we have a deep ball again. Baker has consistently ranked high in that category. That said he has done that behind some of the best lines in football.
  7. BTW in 2020, Bakers only playoff year, Cleveland's OL was #1 overall, at the end of season. https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-final-2020-offensive-line-rankings
  8. At the end of the season they had 2 probowlers on the OL, and according to PFF, they were 8th because of injury, but the starting five were among the best in the league. The point is still the same, whether it top 5 pre-injury or top 10 after injury with 2 probowlers, it was a very good OL...period.
  9. Preseason it was ranked #1 overall. https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-ranking-all-32-nfl-offensive-line-units-entering-2021-season They dropped because of injury. From your link: Cleveland’s starting five forms one of the best offensive lines in the game. I wonder what our line rank if both tackles went down. Even with injuries two OL were probowlers last year: Bitonio and Teller.
  10. He has had a top 5 line every year he's been in the league, with multiple pro-bowlers.
  11. So Baker ate 3.5 million to come here. So much for not wanting Carolina. We paid 5 mill and a conditional 2024 5th rounder. He's an upgrade over Sam. I guess we'll see how much.
  12. Bye Sam. We gave you the benefit of the doubt. Now its time to go.
  13. I'm sorry. He has shown year in and year out, he is not. Teddy had a similar line and looked 10x better. Sam was a mistake, we gave him the benefit of the doubt and he stunk up the place. Will Sam look better than last year with this new line? Probably. Will he still suck ass? Certainly.
  14. He may not win games, but he sure is professional.
  15. By the standard measurements of defense, we were 21st in points allowed and 2nd in yards, so we're probably somewhere in the middle. Those 3 games you refer to didn't allow 0 yards and 0 points to offset the other 14 games in the average. Many other teams played those 3 teams as well, should we devalue their stats? You ignore the offensive performance in the games you cited. For example, we scored THREE points against the Giants. For 10 of the Giants points they had to go less than 20 yards. 2 of the points the O gave away in a safety after the Giants turned over on downs after goal line stand--4 downs on the 1. The Giants couldn't get a yard. The O follows that up by surrendering 2 points and giving the ball back without gaining a yard. Take 5 mins watch the highlights on youtube: link. Put your avatar where your mouth is. I bet you we are top half of the league in points AND yards this year.
  16. I agree our rushing D looked worse than our passing D, but neither were bottom of the league bad. We were 15th in total rushing yards allowed. Funny thing is, we were 8th in rushing yards allowed per attempt, so go figure. Meanwhile In passing we were 9th in passing yards allowed per attempt.
  17. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/years/2021/opp.htm We had the 32nd starting defensive field position at the 33.5. Its true, our redzone defense sucked. We also sucked at forcing turnovers. We were 21st in points but that ignores the number of times the defense has to see the field at the worst starting position. We had 2nd most defensive drives at 197. We averaged 1.98 points allowed per defensive drive which puts us at 15th... 2 spots behind the 9ers (1.95) and better than Browns, Vikings, Packers and way better than WFT. This wasn't a bottom 5 D last year and if it doesn't get decimated by injury, it won't be this year.
  18. Yup. https://pantherswire.usatoday.com/2022/06/30/panthers-wr-dj-moore-ben-mcadoo-sam-darnold/ I feel like it’s a better, like, structure for us going into this year than previous years,” Moore said when asked what’s different with the unit. “I could tell you a little something—the offense is way better than previous years. ”
  19. Dude, you've been on the same track for a month following around people complaining about other users.
