Its great living rent free in your head as you write post after post about me.

Clark appears to be more open than some around here to the possibility of a Panthers playoff birth: You've made a incredibly compelling case I'm almost on board if not for the fact that my team like that is the Dolphins.
-
Simmons was way more prepared for this discussion. Kevin Clark almost concedes. "You've made an incredibly compelling case, I'm almost on board, if not for the fact that my team is the Dolphins."

It is pretzel logic when you apply it to us but not to other teams. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/years/2021/ Here are the teams that had easier SOS than us last year: Los Angeles Chargers Cleveland Browns Baltimore Ravens Tennessee Titans* Indianapolis Colts Miami Dolphins New England Patriots+ Denver Broncos Buffalo Bills* Cincinnati Bengals* Minnesota Vikings New Orleans Saints Arizona Cardinals+ Seattle Seahawks Atlanta Falcons Los Angeles Rams* San Francisco 49ers+ Dallas Cowboys* Green Bay Packers* Tampa Bay Buccaneers* Philadelphia Eagles+

I always thought Chuck's posts came off more intelligent. The posts are more like Chuck on drugs.

23rd in salary yes, but 62nd in yards last year. He had TWICE the drop rate of Robbie last year. He's not a horrible blocker, but he's nothing spectacular in the blocking department either. He has no excuses this year. Last few years you could put some blame on QB play. Not this year.
-
So does that mean Rhule gets the credit for the better coaches he brought in?
-
He certainly got the blame when his previous coaches sucked.

I think the data point we would need would be how Baker played. If we go 9-8 because we got run over on d, miss the playoffs and Baker threw for 4000, 30 TDs and 10 ints, we're signing him longer term. We'll see.

I'm hoping that Horn's return will diminish the productivity loss of Gilmore. Gilmore only played in 8 games. I'm still not sold on Henderson. I didn't think much of him in preseason. He has to step up or they are going to pick on him all day long. On a per rep basis YGM stats look good, he needs to stay healthy. I think Damien Wilson, Cory Littleton and even Brandon Smith will improve our LB core and in turn help the rushing defense. Jones for Ionnitis looks like a wash on paper. I believe Baker, the OL additions and even Hekker will help the D a lot. Its hard to stop a score when you're starting on your own 22 yard line after an int on the first play from the line of scrimmage. As the OP stated, we had the 32nd worst defensive staring field position.

True, the Bengals tanked for a QB and it worked out well for them. We tanked for a QB and it worked out pretty well with Cam. The Jets, Jags and Browns tanked many times for QB's and it didn't work out for them several times. The Bills, Bucks, Rams, Chiefs, Broncos, Pats, 9ers, Cowboys, Packers and Eagles did not tank for their QB's. I don't think 9-10 wins is necessarily a sentence to purgatory.

SOS is determined by team records of the previous year. This years SOS is definitely harder than last year. However In 2021 we played 6 games against 2020 playoff teams: Bucsx2, Saintsx2, WFT, Bills. This includes 2 games against the SB champion. We also played Miami who had 10 wins and just missed is the playoffs in 2020. In 2022 we play 6 games against 2021 playoff teams: Bucsx2, Cardinals, 9ers, Rams, Bengals. This includes 2 games against SB contenders. In addition we know that 3 more teams we played in 2021, the Cardinals, Eagles and Pats made it to the playoffs in 2021. From a playoff team perspective, the 2022 schedule is not 10x harder than 2021.

Bigly Walterfootball Power Rankings drop
poundaway replied to janderson20vt's topic in Carolina Panthers
meanwhile.... NFL insider predicts big jump in wins for Panthers https://pantherswire.usatoday.com/2022/09/03/panthers-christian-mccaffrey-jaycee-horn-baker-mayfield/ During a recent segment on Good Morning Football, Fox Sports senior national writer and NFL Network personality Peter Schrager picked the Panthers as his team to make a Bengals-like jump during the upcoming campaign. He started off his reasoning by shouting out two studs Carolina was largely without last year. https://www.nfl.com/videos/which-team-will-have-the-biggest-jump-in-wins-gmfb -
Backpedaling doesn't help any of that, It makes it worse. So what you're saying is that she's not smart enough to see that. Disregarding her attempts at clarification when they are in agreement with Baker's statements on the matter is "actually pretty dumb."
-
And why is she backpedaling?
