Probably not. But we're probably going to win enough games to make the ones who love tanking and root for every loss to have a mental breakdown.

It wasn't a good trade. When the dust settles it might be a very bad trade. Those hoping that CMC gets hurt this year or next, or that 9ers aren't making the playoffs or winning any playoff games are probably going to be disappointed.

There is no "right way", that is the point. You can get there via FA, trade, trading up, or taking a QB lower than top 5. Those celebrating that the Panthers are going to be absolutely bottom of the league, because now we're doing it right, don't know what they are talking about.

I didn't know Newton got a ring. I missed that game. Why are you shooting for runner up? When you look at the champions, the overwhelming vast majority were acquired by means OTHER than tank for a QB.

In the last 20 years, only 2 qbs, both Mannings, were acquired through tanking. The vast majority were acquired in other methods (trade, FA, trade up or lower draft pick). Tanking is no guarantee. We're doing it so lets hope it works, but tanking for a QB is clearly not "the right way".

There are many comments saying our current tank for QB is us finally doing it right. This thread calls BS.

In the last 20 years, there have been only 2 QBs that the SB champion tanked for: both Mannings. All of the other QBs were either FA, traded for, traded up for, or found outside the top 5 in the draft. Finding your QB via FA is not the "wrong way" anymore than drafting your QB in the top 5.

I would expect more starters go to IR. No point in playing with injuries.

Tanks aren't easy. There were 3 coaches with HC experience on staff. We chose the only one who had successfully tanked before. When asked if Wilks could turn it around, Tepper laughed and then caught himself. We fired staff from the two performing units (ST and D) but kept all of the O staff. Everyone here agrees that our O was the problem. We kneed out 3 times and went into half time with all 3 time outs last week. Our average depth of target was NEGATIVE. We just traded away our best player, and arguably the best player in all of football when healthy. And those of you who value him only as a RB didn't watch last weeks game cause he ran a bunch at WR. The FO and Tepper are trying to tank. Wilks may not think he's tanking and may screw the whole thing up, but the FO is clearly trying to tank. Even the media is outright asking about a tank in the pressers.
