terday at 02:47 PM Wow, not a single example. Not one. So the only data presented says that bigger QB's get hurt MORE, and no one can find a single example where a QB's injury can be blamed on his smaller size. I guess the size/durability concerns were truly nonsense.

ESPN’s Matt Miller inside info on Panthers #1 pick
poundaway replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I was on the fence but as I watched more of both, I prefer Young. They are both excellent QB's. I could support Stroud if he indeed becomes the pick. -
David Newton: Panthers leaning toward Bryce Young

Those aren't predictions of who the #1 pick will be, they are who THEY would choose as the #1 pick. Many of them predict Stroud to go #1, saying we'll take the second best QB, cause he's taller. -
Same goes for Stroud.

Maybe. Young looks pretty awesome sitting comfortably in the pocket. The question is, who do you want at QB when Icky or Sanders gets hurt? You want a QB who can save your tail in a pinch. I think both can do this... Young is just better at it.

Whoever we don't pick is going to have high bust potential. If the Texans pick Stroud his bust potential jumps. The Texans have a rookie HC and rookie OC and the OL was bottom 10 in PR% and bottom 6 in pocket time. Some rumors say that the Texas don't want Stroud at all and will choose Anderson at LB so theres hope he'll drop to a better team. Young and Stroud were on elite teams with elite coaching. I'd say SEC is tougher than Big10 and I predict a lot more OSU offensive players to get drafted in the early rounds this season, where last year it was pretty even. Those of you certain of Stroud's minimal bust potential will be proven right if we pick him, and proven wrong if he ends up in Texas.

So can someone share with me some examples of QB's who got hurt and missed playing time and can definitely say, it was because of his size. Someone big hit him. The hit did damage that would not have been done on a larger player.

David Newton: Panthers leaning toward Bryce Young
poundaway replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think people are forgetting that the odds that both these guys are going to be good is very low. Much more likely, one will be good and the other bust. Take who think the better QB is. The vast majority say Young is the better QB. -

PFF, Draft Buzz, Sports News, ESPN,Walter Football, CBS Sports, NFL.com, and SI.com all have Bryce Young as their #1. Most of the analysts I have heard have said Bryce was the best QB in the class. There are some analysts and big boards out there saying Stroud is #1, it just doesn't appear to be as many. If we pass on the true #1 QB for a slower, taller one, and Young tears up in Houston while our guy is getting sacked staring down his #1, we are going to regret just as much we would if Young gets hurt. It is unlikely that both of them are going to be hits. The more likely hit is Young. -
Another guy who says Young is his #1.

Bryce Young will not be shortest starting QB in the league at 5ft 10 1/2. Kylar Murray will still have the honor of being the shortest at 5 ft 10 1/8. Russel Wilson is 5 ft 10 5/8. Wilson is not known for being injury plagued and has 2SB trips and a ring. That 1/8 of an inch isn't going to get Bryce hurt or stop him from taking us to the promised land. As for weight and muscle, he can put it on. CMC did. Of course CMC had all his injuries AFTER he bulked up.

If he was taller, that wouldn't have happened.
-
I want the taller processor.
-
I would say the slower, less mobile QB would be more likely to get hurt at the next level.
-
Apparently the guys who did this study showing smaller players get hurt less, were Bryce Young fans back in 2019.
-
If only these guys were taller. Then they wouldn't have gotten hurt.
-
If a guy blows out his knee because of his size...that doesn't count. But if a guy takes a big hit and is out, that does. Whatever. Its purely subjective to say if some one was hurt because of their size.
