  1. I just read on MSN that they fully expect a trade, the panthers turned down the 2 first rounder option to drive up the value.  Not sure if that’s true but makes sense.

“The expectation is that Burns will still be traded despite the Panthers continuing to deny it”

What? Tom Brady played for Michigan. Literally none of these apply to him.

Not true, and I wasn’t just talking about the post I quoted.  What you hear about McCall is good arm not great, not the most athletic and not the fastest but can escape pressure when he needs to.  Who does that sound like coming out of college?  The small school is true but Brady’s first year as a starter Michigan was ranked 12th, last year, CCU was ranked 11th.  I also disagree that no one outside of the Carolinas have heard of CCU given Josh Norman, Mike Tolbert, Dustin Johnson, MLB players and their college World Series win.  In other words, he should be getting a lot more national coverage than he is, kid is just a winner, 23-4 or something like that!  Agreed it’s not SEC competition but stil

    1) Not on a Power 5 conference team (Sunbelt conference)

    2) Team is not ranked (would have been had they not lost Saturday)

    3) Doesn't have a rocket for an arm (but he can make every throw)

    4) Small school that doesn't have a long, storied history in FBS football and thus greatly lacks national TV time.  Heck until they upset BYU I don't anyone outside of the Carolinas had even heard of Coastal Carolina.

I'm cool with it.  I DO NOT WANT the #1 overall pick.  Young will stay hurt and Stroud I'm not sold on...yet.  We need more picks; a trade back is necessary.

This is exactly the scouting report on Tom Brady coming out of college.  Definitely not saying he is Tom Brady but watching C.J. Today, I would rather trade down, get more picks and get McCall.

Rodgers need a wr1.  Cmon green bay!   Pay up for dj!

Sounds like the team is at least listening

"The #Panthers also have received multiple trade calls on their other top playmaker, wide receiver D.J. Moore, per sources, but the team has considered Moore a foundational piece to the roster. That would make a trade tough to execute," said Jeremy Fowler.

    Lolololol. Yeah no

So you honestly don’t think a 1000 yard receiver, which btw was Sams best receiver in NY, and had chemistry with him AND our glorious ex coach was positive Sam was going to be the Franchise QB of the future, to lock Robbie up for basically Pennie’s on the dollar compared to other #1 receivers?  Now we both know Robbie isn’t that but I’m trying to put myself in their shoes at the time.  Year 1 was outstanding, so they locked him up, I get that.  Sucks it went to poo after that but if you can see the future please give me the winning lottery number, I swear I’ll split it with you

I don’t think he wants to peacock about anything involving RA.

    From OTC

Even though it was not a one year “prove it” deal the Panthers treated it as such and quickly extended Anderson after the season to a new contract worth $14.75 million a season. This would be a disaster for the team as Anderson only had 519 yards in 2021. Rather than paying the original $8 million salary and then letting him walk after a poor season, the new extension saw the team pay $12.5 million in 2021 and then an additional $12.31 million this year. For that extra $16.31 million in cash and cap the Panthers got 6 additional games, 13 receptions, 206 yards, and a touchdown of production.

They extended him because he had over 90 catches and over 1000 receiving yards in 2020 and was the best wide receiver we had on the roster.  Honestly, hindsight being 20/20 and all, it was a pretty smart move then

You raise yours! He had a right to be upset. I'd rather have 11 guys that hate losing and let you know it than 11 who accept it with a smile and say nothing.

I agree with you here, I love to see people that care about winning!  However, I think there is a right way and a wrong way to do things.  Distancing yourself from your teammates probably wasn't the right thing to do but still I agree with your point

In regards to McCall I think you are way off.  His accuracy and ability to throw off platform is top notch.  The knock that I have before the season is he didnt have the strength to push the ball downfield but they are doing that in the games I have watched.  Will be interesting once the dust settles on what the scouts think.

I still stand by my theory that the new staff will pick richardson around pick 5

What you also have to mention with McCall is his moxie, the kid just seems to have the IT factor if you ever watch him.  He basically wills his team to wins.  Yes, you can say they play lesser competition, but that same competition has beaten power 5 schools on the regular lately and to add to that, he is playing with players that don't have the talent of an Ohio St, Clemson, Alabama, etc.  So, he is doing all this, because he is GOOD, not because he has NFL talent at every position around him.  I'm sold on McCall, would not be mad at all if we traded back, picked up some draft capital and picked him up.

  9. I actually thought he did good with the press conference.  I like him being "cagey" makes me think he really wants to win and is disappointed we haven't.  He admitted he was still learning, admitted that he is accountable to the fans, admitted mistakes, all things he didn't have to do.  Some people say he gave vague answers, I didn't take it that way, I took it exactly how he said it...winning, getting over the hump is winning, being patient is winning more this year than you did last, and winning more next year than you did this year but seeing progress IN THAT AREA which he hasn't.  Not sure what all the hate is about with his press conference, personally I say thank you for coming out doing what you didn't have to do!

Now, what time is the Wilks press conference

just out of curiosity does the teams that the 49ers played against count toward this historic start to the season? I feel like we are only a year removed from the Panthers being talked about having a historic defense a qaurter into the season....

There opponents were all struggling offenses:

    1. Bears

    2. Seahawks

    3. Broncos

    4. Rams

And their D smashed those teams, our Offense isn't struggling, its non existent.  Those teams you listed are at least 1 tier above us if not two

    I lived in Archdale for 7 years - Stephen A. doesn't know Archdale - he's just picking out Exit signs from 85 & 40.

If he knew Archdale, he would have repped the Archdale Soda shop or Jerome Davis rodeo.

If he knew small town NC, he would have repped towns without interstate exits - like Sophia, or Locust, or Hamlet, or Tuckaseegee.

He does know a couple of things:

    1) Baker (currently) is terrible

    2) Cowboy fans live in an alternate reality.

I miss Archdale Soda shop, best hot dogs and Archdale Subs, best steak and cheese on the planet

If they had even a avg. offense, they would be winning. The defense is actually very good and dragging the shitty offense along. Something needs to give and I think it is the OC to start.

Obviously Rhule sucks, but he will be the last to go. The play calling is atrocious. Not developing a game plan to suit the personal and the QB is the cause of alot of the problems.

I don't know who or what the replacement could be. But it is not working out and I doubt he has the ability to change at this point.

Maybe I'm being cynical but I just don't see our Defense as being very good either.  So far, we have played the Browns (run all over us), the Giants, the Saints when the QB had a broken back and the Cardinals who until us hadn't lead in a game this year during regulation and yet our Defense is bottom to middle of the league at the start of yesterdays game in almost every category.  We will find out if they are actually good or if we have just been playing really bad teams in the next few weeks though.
