Yeah defenses are easier to turn around than offenses (especially when you are looking for a QB). Take a look at the Broncos. Allowed 70 last year to the Dolphins, this year they put together a solid makeshift defense while eating the Russ contract and drafting Nix in the first. There also isn’t done premium defensive player that should go at pick 1 as of right now.
Exactly, don’t overthink it!

Our D is horrendously bad and one draft cycle isn’t going to fix that. I was on the trade down train myself but the more I think about it the more I believe that if we are going to get any resemblance of an NFL team in that the time frame it will take to fix the D, we will need and offense that can just flat out outscore the other team. We have a good oline, we have a top RB, hopefully 2, we have developing WRs and a promising looking TE, all young. The piece we are missing, Cam Ward

You'll think they are SB contenders again after week 9

75% of his yards came after we were down 28-7. He gets no credit for garbage time yards.
Is he (Ace) talking about yards? Herbert had more yards than Young @237, I'm still looking but there is no metric I can find where Bryce Young has done anything against this team that no other QB to date has done.
And you're right, if you take out the first scripted series and the 98 yard drive at the end, which in fairness you can't because they count, he would have had the lowest passing yards against them and it wasn't close.

I can see the Cowboys wanting Hubbard as well. I didn't watch the whole game but I think Zek ended up with the most yards and that was like 40.
Package both of them together for a this year second and next year conditional 4th, could be a third depending on performance

You can say whatever you want. The facts are facts. He got the same amount of quarters against a Broncos defense that every other QB did this year and did what no other QB has done at this point while working with less. That is a fact. Gotta give some credit to him for that regardless how you feel about his prospects going forward. If not it’s just hate.
I'm confused, what did he do that no other QB has done to this point this year? What am I missing? Certainly hasn't scored the most points against this D, hasn't thrown or rushed for the most yards against this D. Didn't even do the bad things more, which is good I guess, than any other QB, Minshew ties him in interceptions with 2 against this D.

You don't like it, stop them. Pretty simple concept, hard for this team to do.

Yea someone mentioned yesterday they saw bright spots, I think they were seeing floaters or something because for the life of me it was all terrible; once again!

What you saw was a scripted TD, no first downs after that till the fourth quarter where he got a garbage TD. In other words nothing of note

Will be interesting to see who Dave starts next. You have Bryce who obviously isn’t cut out for the NFL and Dalton who has stunk lately.
Depends on the end goal, save your job or get the #1 pick

Guess we don’t have to worry about that do we?

For me, sitting back on the bench. That alone was successful enough for me to start watching the games again. Now, I'll go back to fishing, I guess.

Chuba wins 60% of the time on 1st and 2nd downs. He wins 50% of the time on short yardage downs.
A championship RB wins 70% of the time on 1st and 2nd downs. A championship RB wins 70% (bad OL) and 80% (good OL) of the time on short yardage.
Don't pay Chuba. He has reached his max development and it's not enough. He has 700 more carries in him after this season. That's 3 more seasons as an average starter or 6 more seasons as a backup. Next up if he won't accept a team friendly contract knowing he will be a backup short a miracle progression in his game.
As a side note, a good QB sneak wins short yardage 90% to 95% of the time.
Fun fact, 76.3% of all statistics are made up.

Please, 289 yards passing, 2 TD, 0 Int and 35 yards rushing.
Then let's see about that trade status.
You must be referring to Bo Nix here

Well, Bryce is back so we really don't need any of our WR's, trade him and see what we can get. Don't really need RB's either, teams are just going to stack the box again, Chuba will avg 2.1 YPC and we will all says he sucks anyway; TRADE EVERYTHING (even the owner)

Current NC State QB and former Coastal Carolina QB Grayson McCall hangs up his cleats after that scary hit.
I hope the young man recovers well and has success as a coach.
My wife was telling me about this, I hate this for Grayson, I am a big supporter of his. While I hated that he left Coastal, I was really hoping he would have a good showing at NC State. Apparently, he wants to get into coaching so maybe one day he can find himself back at Coastal doing his thing. It would be good for him and great for the school to have him back in some capacity.

Yeh… but it’s all Bryce Young’s fault… LOL
It is, if we didn’t waste draft picks on the undersized clip board holder we might have talent in other places

When you get a chance you should watch him, he has things he needs to work on but he checks all the boxes with no baggage. Has been through adversity and always come out one step ahead.

With the first pick, don't draft a QB? Draft a DE? C'mon!
in Carolina Panthers

I get what you are saying, again I was on the trade back team but...if you look at his body of work throughout his collegiate career you will find a true example of hard work, dedication and development! For those that don't know, he wasn't handed the keys to the kingdom from his dad everywhere he went like some that get talked about on here:
1. University of the Incarnate Word (No kidding) his only scholarship offer
a. Balled out, won the Jerry Rice Award
2. Washington State
a. Balled out, was going to declare for the draft but knew he could develop more
3. Miami
a. Balling out, probably leader for Heisman as of now
All that to say, this kids has already show grit, determination and a willingness to do what it takes to succeed. Much like our favorite, for now, Cam, the kid just wins! He is 31-19 as a starter with 16,093 passing yards, 139 TD to 35 Int and 19 rushing TD's.
To have the self-reflection to know "I've got to get better" and to do it...should tell us all, he is just different.
He may not be generational "right now" but the way he is developing he could be. Oh, and he is 6'2 223 lbs.
