  1. Hey group, wanted to follow up on this because I was wrong and wanted to update you. So last night a close friend of the McCall family was at a New Year’s party my wife and I attended. And @Varking you were right. If he were to transfer to Auburn, the credits that would transfer would make him a sophomore. Florida did reach out to him, and there was interest on his behalf but he would only have the credits for Junior status and believe it or not…the same for Liberty! So according to what was said last night, he is more than likely coming back to Coastal one more year
  2. Apologize on the name. I can't argue with any of your points besides making it at Coastal should look better for his resume than it would at Liberty given what you mentioned above. Coastal is in the process of building new facilities for all of it's sports programs. With the recent success in Baseball, Football, Track, etc there has been an influx of money. As an ACC fan, I really enjoy Sun Belt athletics, underrated in my opinion but man the games are so much fun
  3. Well, P5 schools were in his ear last year but he wanted to finish what he and Jim Caldwell started at Coastal. Jim made a pretty dumb decision to go to Liberty which, in my opinion, is a lateral move as a coach so it left Grayson wondering what to do with his final year he will be playing. Start over with a new coach and hope for the best or take one of the P5 offers where at least he will get more recognition. But you are right, he is a GOD at Coastal. Tim Beck, for everything I've heard about him was a decent OC and has ties to Coastal (his daughter graduated from there) so well see if he comes back, but I can't blame him if he leaves.
  4. Sorry, didn't want you to take it as a pissing match because I respect and enjoy your post. Just saying what the word it close to home. Personally, I hope he comes back to Coastal but I know that isn't in his best interest. I guess we will see how it plays out
  5. Not saying I don't believe you but I've never heard of those guys and not a single mention of that on any of this on any news site; ESPN, SI, CBS, nothing. And I find it hard to believe if that was the case, they would be saying that vs Grayson McCall canceled his meeting. I can tell you this, and probably shouldn't, but one of my very close friends is on the Board of Trustees for USC, the original USC that is; Gamecocks, and as you are probably aware it wasn't so long ago Coastal Carolina was an extended campus of USC. Now, they are separate of course and members of the boards are not mutually exclusive. Thats what I meant by inner circles earlier. I can tell you, according to him, Florida was never on McCalls radar; no trip was ever scheduled and from what he knows, no calls were ever made by either party and there have never been any mention of Florida outside of the media saying it "could" be a potential landing spot. Auburn on the other hand, has sparked his interest, they offered him a scholarship last year and tried to get him to leave Coastal, he opted to stay. I also mentioned that in another thread Auburn was one of 5 P5 schools that tried to get Grayson to leave last year; for everyone saying why is he playing at Coastal besides a P5 school if he is so good, well, he easily could have. I can also tell you that, from what I've heard it is down to 3 schools, one of which being Coastal. He will be visiting Auburn in the next week or two unless Tim Beck can convince him it is worth staying. Now again, I'm not saying you're wrong, this is just what I've heard from someone that don't necessarily have inside information but certainly has connections that do. On top of that, Coastals backup QB is now in Jail, I can't imagine if Coastal was certain McCall was gone, they wouldn't have already found / be looking for another QB....and they're not. And think about this, what possible Major would Coastal Carolina be offering that a school like Auburn isn't? Sounds like some butt hurt SEC homers you're following there
  6. Interesting, first I've heard of that. You would think that would be all over the internet and news but a quick google search gives me nothing. I don't have Twitter, or FB for that matter, because most of that stuff is trash but I guess it is possible just not what the word is around here.
  7. I haven't heard any of that, word on the street down here, a few miles away from Coastal, is that he just postponed the trip to Auburn due to personal reasons and will be visiting in the next week or two. As for Florida, he never wanted to go there, in fact I've heard nothing about Florida mentioned for him. If I had to guess, and I'm just guessing here, he is probably talking with Tim Beck seeing where that goes before going to Auburn. He tweeted out, before the original scheduled visit to Auburn in a round about way not to discredit him coming back to Coastal Grayson McCall Teases Coastal Carolina Return In Cryptic Deleted Tweet (outkick.com) Again, all of that just a guess and what I'm hearing from close circles in the area
  8. Still onboard with McCall. There isn't a clear number 1 QB for me this year. I haven't read through this entire thread so not sure if this has been posted but it's a pretty good writeup. 2023 NFL Draft: Coastal Carolina QB Grayson McCall’s Draft Outlook - Visit NFL Draft on Sports Illustrated, the latest news coverage, with rankings for NFL Draft prospects, College Football, Dynasty and Devy Fantasy Football.
  9. I've watched a lot of his games this year, not an SC fan but I have buddies that are so we watch. I'm not big on Rattler at all but from what I saw, this year, his OC wasn't helping him early in the year. Most Saturday's we play a game during the game. Every time there is a wide receiver screen pass, we take a drink. Needless to say, a case of beer could be gone by the end of the game. Against Tennessee and Clemson they finally let the kid air the ball out and I have to say, he looked good doing it. The entire year, all I heard from Gamecock fans was they needed to fire the OC.
  10. Using Median instead of Avg is a cleaver way to make statistics say what you want. Remember 97% of all statistics are made up.
  11. As I said in another thread, this is what bad front offices do. There is no way you don’t make that trade. Mr. Scott mentioned earlier that they were running the opposite side of Burns, that’s fine but that’s also the point, there are no complimentary pieces, it does no good to have one All Star, which he isn’t, and the rest are plebs. We are way more than a few pieces away and draft picks would have lets us acquire more potential in all positions.
  12. At the end of last year he actually had offers from several P5 schools and thought about entering the transfer portal and leaving but decided he was going to finish what he started at Coastal
  13. People say the same thing about Spencer Rattler but while it might happen, it shouldn't
  14. Wouldn't put much stock in those predictions, they have Van Dyke as the 7th best QB? Yea...no. I think McCall goes in the 3rd possibly 4th
  15. He doesn’t have the strongest arm for sure, but accuracy, touch, etc it’s crazy to read what I’ve read in here. The number 3 team in SC just beat the best team in NC and it it weren’t for revivers dropping balls it would have been bad
  16. Have you watched this game at all? He has had plenty of zip on intermittent passes like the one another receiver just missed. On the deep ball he has touch. Kids is good, not great right now, but he will not make it to the 5th, round is a possibility but a lot of boards have home as the 5th QB coming out so 2nd rounder is what I’m thinking
  17. Exactly he isn’t playing with Alabama and Ohio st players. He has done what he has in college with at max 3 star players
  18. I live 5 miles down the street, I’ve been watching him since he got here, and if you actually read my post I’ve always said, if you are trading back, he is the one. I have never claimed he was a first rounder, go check my post, but the crap I’m seeing in here, tonight, is rediculous
  19. Obviously you missed the read option earlier that resulted in positive yards due to a split second decision. Look I don’t think the dude is a first rounder but what I’m reading on here you guys have never watched him play. It’s not one read passes, he reads the entire defense and sees the field so he knows exactly who is open. Not saying RPO works in the NFL but the RPO in its nature is not one read at all, it’s what you see because of his ability to READ the defense.
  20. I didn’t say they haven’t but you’re making claims that he had missed another wide open receiver when he has only missed 3 passes so far tonight like it was on him. I get there are a lot of APP st homers in here like UNC but let’s call it like it is
  21. He didn’t miss him that ball was perfect the receiver was held did you not see the replay? You have to remember he isn’t the throwing to Alabama, Ohio St talent here
  22. So 30 yards more passing 1 less TD on a team that hasn’t been able to run the ball and has had one more possession is doing better? You people amuse me
  23. Maybe it’s decision making? Reading the field? How many times to we watch repays and there is a receiver wide open? Maybe, just possibly, he sees it
  24. It’s showing you that he is smart enough to run a complicated offense and so far rofl stomp a team that should have beat Carolina that did beat Texas A&M. I love how some are downplaying this because “Coastal” Good touch on the deep ball good zip on intermediate passed great read of what the defense is giving him
