  1. People actually think this is real? ..... really??? Can't believe Drew Brees would ever fake something for monetary gain, truly unlike him /s
  2. He was impressively average this year, not someone I want on this team.
  3. I'm curious if Spencer Rattler leaves for the draft, would be a nice day 2 pick.
  4. Gamecock fan here so take this with a grain of salt but I've watched him a little this year (not all the games). Rattler 100% has an NFL arm, I'll start there. He can drive the football over the middle of the field or with precision to the sidelines outside the numbers. Gets rid of the ball quickly and decisively and the most impressive trait I've noticed with him is his ball placement, his receivers are in good YAC opportunities because of that and will directly translate to NFL level. His deep ball is not bad but has been especially on in the last 2 games this season, which brings me to my next point... He's a hot and cold player. He certainly has some cockiness and moxie to him and the more confident he is in himself, the better he plays. He makes awful decisions too much, trying to force the issue at times and has terrible turnovers. He's certainly not afraid of any throw, but he needs to decipher the good from bad better especially if he wants to succeed at the NFL level. Rattler has issues with blitzes up the middle, his eyes drop and he ditches the pocket immediately and try play backyard football outside the pocket which he is certainly comfortable with. I'd like to see him stand tall and deliver a strike more or try to evade pressure in the pocket with better footwork. This can be taught and he actually does have a better pocket presence once he trusts the O-line to play better which brings me to my last point... What the actual fudge changed in the last two games against #5 Tenn and #8 Clemson? That's the information that NFL scouts will get that we don't have access to. This offense was straight up dysfunctional and borderline unwatchable for most of this season. Gamecock fans wanted Marcus Satterfield's head on a spike until the last two games, then Rhule just saved everyone the confusion by hiring him as his new OC at Nebraska. But really... did Freddie Kitchens call plays the last two games? Did Beamer finally get on his butt about the offense behind closed doors and told him to simplify the playbook? It's the biggest question for SC fans but regardless Spencer Rattler played on a whole other stream of consciousness at the QB position and for that Gamecock nation thanks him. I would certainly take a flier on him, he's got some talent in there somewhere but likely needs to grow up a little bit and would be a QB guys like to play for. I have no idea if he would be a good leader for an NFL franchise but he can grow into one certainly.
  5. Wilks is doing an admirable job I cannot fault the guy, but I'm not ready to hand the keys to him yet. Let's revisit after the season ends.
  6. He threw DJ open on that awesome bomb up the right sideline
  7. Thank you for the last two games Satt and have fun in Lincoln, probably got a pay raise too which is hilarous
  8. Young is in the foreground a little bit here making him look taller and could be wearing some lifts (not kidding lol). There's a pic of him with Mina Kimes and he looks like a string bean.
  9. I liked Stroud over Young but as the CFB season has gone on I'm slowly flipping the other way. I'd be happy with either to be honest, just none of the other guys like Levis and AR etc.
  10. I live in the greater Denver area, it's been a treat to tune into 94.3 and listen to Schlereth rant about how bad the Broncos are. They are just completely flabbergasted by it too, it's just such a mess all over that it's hard to even pinpoint where to start to fix this. I always think back to pre-season and how they were talking about the Super Bowl window opening now.... yikes. They are in a hole for the foreseeable future.
  11. Nebraska and Rhule are perfect for each other
  12. If you had asked me this 2 years ago I'd say yes 100%. But now after going through our retread QB experiments I'm just so over it I'd rather draft someone for the unknown potential. I understand how flawed my reasoning is too but I don't even care.
  13. You mean the play that worked all game and even got us a touchdown…. Almost like they were setting up for it or something.
  14. I'll defend Jaycee Horn pick until I'm blue in the face but I'm also biased since he's an SC alum. But... that draft is looking like a disaster for us. Micah Parsons is going to be a hall of famer, probably Surtain too. There were legitimate red flags on Parsons going into the draft so I wasn't too surprised by that and we needed a corner, but may have taken the wrong one. Rashawn Slater also looking excellent from that draft but "T-rex" arms.... and then there's Justin Fields, the QB I would have drafted and wanted at the time. We are barely 2 years off of that draft and hindsight looks brutal there. Trades for Gilmore/Henderson were rough, but definitely to appease staff and make a playoff push, didn't work out and now that regime is gone. Not too upset about it. I get why they didn't trade DJ or Burns, you still need good players in this league and you should aspire to keep them... but that Packers pick is going to be good especially. I would've signed off on that for DJ, I still like keeping Burns despite the bounty that was offered.
  15. I hate Abram, if we signed it's Robbie Anderson experience all over again. Some JAG who just runs his mouth all the time and does dumb stuff on the field. NO THANKS.
  16. Probably? They put two orange teams against each other on Halloween day for MNF
  17. What? Not really, Evan Neal was right there as well as Charles Cross. He deserves credit.
  18. I remember being a little upset but not surprised when passed on Fields, definitely thought he was the best at the time just because in my mind he was a "baller". Then through last year I was relieved we did not draft him, fast forward to this season and now I'm wishing my team had him. Conclusion? Evaluating/drafting a QB is incredibly difficult and a QB's progression is NEVER linear, that applies to other positions too. My "baller" award for the 2023 QB class? It's Bryce freaking Young and I've been singing CJ Stroud's praises all season. That's changed as the year has gone along.
  19. ..... I just realized that if we took this deal then we'd have enough ammo to offer the Saints for Sean Payton
  20. This is true, and likely a factor in Fitterer declining it which I completely understand
  21. Prob similar to the money now > money later approach in finance. Also I suppose it makes sense to view it as the worst possible outcome to keep it conservative but still.... first round picks are first round picks. Blue chip talent in there if you approach it the right way.
  22. I'm not gonna lie to you that makes zero sense and I appreciate things like value charts.
  23. Life ain't fair, take this team to the playoffs and the job is yours. No playoffs, we are likely drafting a QB and hiring an offensive guy to pair up together. Sorry Wilks, but I appreciate the hell out of your professionalism so far and making me like this team again.
