I'm interested in Danny Dimes as a backup only. As a starter he is one of the most uninspiring players I think I've ever seen. I would be seriously upset if we signed him with anticipations of being the starter for the season.
I'm happy those 2 are finding success elsewhere. Chinn never lived up to the hype after his rookie season and Luvu just wanted to go play in Dan Quinn's defense that suits him perfectly. I can't hate on that.
The handling of Cam and his image by the Org since Tepper has been owner has been an absolute failure. Truly nothing else needs to be said and it's sad. But he's always going to stand up for us because that's all he ever did in his time here.
The Robert Hunt signing was one of the best FA signings this franchise has ever made. It's shocking what one signing can do for the rest of the team. He's elevated everyone around him, is a culture changer, and is a great player in his own right. Everyone in the media and some within our fanbase were snickering at that signing, stupid 'ol Panthers making him a top 5 paid Guard in the league. It's been an incredible move! That combined with Damien Lewis has completely stabilized the line and made the Panthers fun to watch again.
John Ellis on the pod made a point that Canales has nothing to gain by fully backing Bryce. He’s not his guy and he’s just treating him like an adult QB in the NFL. Has to earn it week in and week out. Bryce isn’t exactly setting the world aflame either so I get it. Canales has done a good job balancing the situation this year because he’s been pretty straightforward about it.
And a sick game winning drive in overtime.
In all seriousness he wasn’t bad today. We ran it so good and in that awful weather on that awful field that’s what ultimately helped us win the game. Bryce throws some absolute ducks that im sure are going to get picked off but it didn’t happen. He had clutch plays when needed like that long scramble and his creativity to find JT Sanders open for a touchdown. Im not gonna hate too much on him today he helped the team win.
My favorite part of him today was actually seeing some emotion out of him when he missed Coker on the kill shot and yelled in frustration. I want to see more of that for sure.
