  1. What an absolutely insane quarter of football
  2. It sucks so much that no matter how much we want somebody to be retained, we'll have no idea what's going to happen until the head coach is hired. 2 - 3 year deal with the 3rd year leaving minimal dead cap if we retain Wilks. Hopefully another HC will want to take advantage of the power run game that has been empowered by the OL + Campen if they don't go with Wilks.
  3. Never have I felt more justified in my crusade for Elflein to ride the pine
  4. I hated him being the starting LT, but a swing tackle that's also been a big part of Icky's growth? I can dig a cheap deal.
  5. Solid gamble too tho imo He likely knows he isn't getting any better than a 4th (likely 5th) rd grade. If he goes to Auburn and lights it up he is going to rocket up draft boards
  6. Better arm, better wheels, and of course... MOAR MOXIE Linderbaum was my draft crush last season. This season, it's Duggan. With that said, please don't spend anything higher than a 3rd on him. Preferably a day 3 pick.
  7. Wild how they took a QB that busted with the higher pick instead of using it on Brian Burns or Montez Sweat so that they didn't have to trade their 2020 1st... Then again, losing 2 more games would have meant that they could have selected the franchise himself, Daniel Jones.
  8. Shoot, I'll do it for them! Bryce Young (Alabama) Will Levis (Kentucky) Max Duggan (TCU) Grayson McCall (Coastal Carolina) Anthony Richardson (Florida) I genuinely think that any of those 5 could be "the guy." My big issue though is that, looking at that list, I can't justify taking any of those guys in the top 10 except for Young (who will be gone already) and maybe Levis? Not a fan of Stroud at all. For Duggan I stan. McCall was somebody that I thought was overrated, but after going back and watching his games I found myself more and more impressed. Both of those guys, to me, are at best late day 2 picks though they're most likely day 3 selections. Richardson I would gamble on with one of our 2nds in a heartbeat. The biggest thing going against Corral imo isn't having to spend his rookie offseason on a Matt Rhule team, but rather that if the next OC comes in and wants more of a traditional drop back passer that he might be on the way out. Wilks' background leads me to believe he'd prefer a big bodied QB with a rocket launcher for an arm. If he gets an OC that wants to run more of a WC-style, in-rhythm offense though, Corral could be the guy.
  9. I understand that the higher the pick, the more available prospects there are. However, this also reminds me of the end of the 2018 - 2019 season. We had folks in here that were apoplectic over winning the final game of the season against the Saints. It was a "meaningless win" that folks guaranteed would prevent us from drafting a top pass rusher that offseason. The draft pick: Brian Burns Again, I understand the sentiment behind the desire to lose and get a better pick in the draft. However, if that can be validated, then why can't it also be acknowledged that picking 9th or even in the middle of the 1st doesn't doom the team to mediocrity? Hell, Mahomes went #10 behind Trubisky. Stake your claim then! Darnold isn't going to be on the roster next season, just Matt Corral (who, despite what folks here want to believe, would be one of the top 3 QBs in this draft class). Which of these potential rookies are you willing to go out of your way and say that they'll be the franchise guy? If picking in the middle of the round is a sign of infinite mediocrity, which of the rookies will prevent that?
  10. One of the consistent endorsements of Steve Wilks has been that he is a man of his word: From AZCentral's "Arizona Cardinals coach Steve Wilks lauded as 'great leader' by those who know him" From Panthers.com's "Steve Wilks not a believer in 'buddy' system" From beat writer Mike Kaye's, "Better late than never: Panthers say they’ve found their identity after win vs. Seahawks" In other articles that mention Wilks' leadership style, again and again we hear about how the players appreciate his honesty. While this has been a constant throughout his career, what do y'all think might have happened behind closed doors with Rhule and the locker room that resulted in Wilks' honesty being so refreshing and appreciated? Do y'all think that this is yet another sign of the players having not bought in to the previous regime's philosophies like Cam suggested at the end of last season? Or is it Coach Wilks just being who he has always been? Little bit of column A w/ column B maybe?
  11. I keep seeing the doomsayers churn out this reasoning, but which of the available QBs in this draft are they willing to say is the next franchise QB?
  12. Let's fuging GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
  13. Big time drive atm. Punch this in for 7 and leave them down by 10 with less than half of the quarter remaining for the Seahawks to desperately try and catch up
  14. Loving this so far. Let's get a TD and keep drowning them with the run!
  15. Holy poo Three 3rd down conversions... and on the opening drive alone? Is this real?
  16. If he's somehow still there at #40, run the card up.
  17. As a Clemson fan: thank goodness While he didn't have quite the weapons his predecessors have had this season, he just never seemed to put it all together consistently. Really hope that Dabo starts recruiting an OL.
  18. I'd be very okay with Duggan or McCall on day 3, maybe Max as high as the 3rd
  19. Hate to see Duggan and Johnston's college careers end like that, but glad that Max did his thing on the big stage so that folks got to see that he can sling it. Quenton is going to be one of the first WRs off of the board as well, so at least one of them will likely have a career in the pros.
  20. He tagged @ellisearlier about having some stuff to talk about on the podcast Wondering if he's going to be the "unofficial" mouth piece for the organization in regards to Rhule's tenure
