  1. I respect the attempt to strawman, but it wasn't just protection. Weapons that can get open would have helped tremendously. Bryce also had a higher pressure %, which would have been a more accurate way to rank who was under pressure most often. Mahomes was pressured just twice more on 70 more attempts. Is he the guy? idk but I do know that last year he flashed despite everything going wrong that could. Can he consistently show those flashes? We'll have to just wait and see.
  2. Be careful... Some of the angry weirdos might accuse you of gatekeeping.
  3. If the play call is to make his progressions and he skips to the ones that makes the biggest play as you suggested then that is not what the coaches called. His first job is to execute the offense and he's not doing that if he's immediately looking to the go routes that are designed to clear a defender for the passing concept designed on the play. He would not be giving the staff the ability to evaluate the rest of the talent on the roster because he'd be too busy looking out for himself if doing what you suggested. If fans want to be entertained by the play calling, they should check out Fan Controlled Football (FCF) instead of gaslighting themselves by demanding that an NFL team calls the plays that they want. I'd hate to be QB3 in a locker room where I wasn't getting my teammates the looks that were called for them in preseason. Especially if that was because I was too busy looking out for myself and throwing it on the deepest route every play, progressions be damned.
  4. If a 3rd string QB is going to go deliberately against the play call, they're not going to be trusted nor are they going to get many opportunities afterwards.
  5. I'm fairly certain if he does that once or twice he's going to be pulled, cut, and unlikely to find a team afterwards. Not because he's throwing deep and that's taboo or any other dismissive reasoning, but because he's looking to promote himself rather than playing with the team.
  6. I think that will depend on what Evero marches out scheme-wise. If we see the disguised coverages that he's known for, then we'll get to see how Milton responds to that. If it's vanilla and lots of man, we'll get to see how guys do on an island (and allow Milton to sling it).
  7. Failed physical. Looks like those injuries have done a number on him already. That sucks.
  8. I was thinking the same thing! lmao My favorite part about the Olympics, aside from the whole world competition and exploration of other cultures, is that I end up following a random sport or two that I've never kept up with before. It gets to the point of where I'm deep diving the history of the sport and the evolution of the tactics used so that I can better understand what I'm watching.
  9. Came across this while trying to find out what led to the inclusion of flag football as well as other info such as the NFL's involvement. I can't recall off of the top of my head what events have been added before the Tokyo games, but for that Olympics they added skateboarding, sport climbing, surfing, karate, and baseball/softball which are all popular in Japan. I can dig them rotating a couple of events in order to highlight the host country's culture/history. Looks like current NFL players are being encouraged to participate though. BY9 to Tyreek Hill?
  10. Canales has stated in his pressers that they're trying different back-ups with the 1s to see if they can consistently perform against them after showing flashes against 2nd & 3rd stringers. I think that Christensen is going to be the first man up if any iOL starters go down with Mays waiting to be the next to step in. Unless Zavala has shown huge leaps in his pass blocking I don't believe they'll rush to have him fill in.
  11. I've got two big screen TVs and three PC monitors. My living room is going to look and sound like a sports bar tonight. Panthers on one big screen, wrestling on the other (Greco Roman 67kg finals, women's freestyle 53kg, and more). One monitor with the women's volleyball semis (Turkey vs China, US vs Brazil), one with track, and one with Discord and Firefox open.
  12. Hell, it could be even worse than last season and I'd still be excited tbh. I miss football. Going to have my eyes glued to the OL when the team is on offense and the pass rush while on defense. And of course, Jalen Coker!
  13. Ladd is 2nd string as well with the Chargers.
  14. Deone Walker is the DT prospect that I'm going to be watching this season. I'm very interested to see how him and JJ Weaver put that Kentucky defense on their backs. Having a starting DT on a rookie contract would also be awesome for off-setting DB's contract. Very eager to see Morrison in action and how his shoulder does over the course of the season.
  15. Oh wow. Surprised that they brought in Sterns after talking up Woods, Fuller, Scott, and Cooke all week. Does he play nickel as well? Can't help but think that this doesn't bode well for Sam Franklin unless they're planning on starting him on the PUP... but it could also just be kicking the tires on a guy familiar with the system that's had a history with injuries.
  16. Both of the Steelers fans at my office + a good friend of mine that's a die hard Steelers fan have said that DJax is looking good for them and that while they hated losing such an obvious talent that they trust the front office when it comes to finding talent at WR. Made me a little jealous, ngl.
  17. I cannot believe how eager I am to watch back-ups play. Like... legitimately amped.
  18. He was recovering from a torn ACL last year. I wonder if there were any issues there still? He tore it late in the season before like Corbett did.
  19. I know it's way too early, but there are some guys being talked about already that are dawgs. OT Will Compton (LSU) OT Kelvin Banks Jr (Texas) WR Luther Burden III (Missouri) WR Tetairoa McMillan (Arizona) WR/CB Travis Hunter (Colorado) CB Will Johnson (Michigan) EDGE James Pearce Jr (Tennessee) EDGE Mykel Williams (Georgia) If two QBs come off of the board before the Panthers pick then they'll get at least one of those guys.
  20. Speaking for myself, I'd consider picking in the top 10 again to be selecting high. A 7-10 record has secured teams the 10th overall pick for the last three years. The team could triple their win total and still be in that range.
  21. If the team ends up picking high but Bryce shows promise, I wouldn't be opposed to taking one of the top LTs and sliding Icky over to RT. Moton only has one more year left on his deal, though I could see them opting to stick with TMo if he's still playing at a high level @ 32.
  22. The initial reports were that he was down for a long time and the guys took a knee. He was able to eventually get up on his own and was moving a little gingerly. Video of the collision below: Definitely got the wind knocked out of him. There might have been initial concerns about a bruised sternum or injured ribs. Personally, I think he took a shot to the xiphoid process because that ish suuuuuuuuucks. I got put down for the 10-count and beyond after taking a teep from Dennis Lane to mine. T_T
  23. The amount of folks on here that choose to believe a hug from Nicole Tepper was the deciding factor is WILD.
  24. Quoting Rap: Pretty obvious "if the QB is good, the team will have hope" but I thought it was interesting that somebody dialed in as much as Rapoport definitively said that everybody had him at #1 considering how many fans want to believe otherwise.
