  1. A top tier QB is supposed to throw across their body where a FS will be instead of taking the wide open WR underneath?
  2. I think that your desire to see a shot to the endzone might be affecting your judgment here because this isn't a matter of whether or not a fan sees somebody that they think is "NFL open" as much as it is how the play is designed and taught to be executed. At the very beginning of the play, Sanders goes into motion before resetting to his original spot. The defenders' reaction tells Bryce that it's zone coverage (cover 3 specifically, as they show a single high look rotation just before the snap). It's a play action designed to have Bryce throw while running to his right: XL is the quick hitch for a short option, Adam Thielen looks like he has an option route and settles into the space between the zones, and Diontae is flying upfield on a post. The safety drops while shadowing Thielen over the top, meaning that he's going to be carrying back to that area you're wishing it was thrown to. By design, Bryce is supposed to take the wide open Thielen underneath.
  3. The way that play is designed, Bryce is supposed to go over the top if the safety drives on Thielen which would open up the endzone for Diontae. But because the safety doesn't drive on it and open things up behind him, the ball goes to Thielen. It's another option, yes, but it's not the correct option to take in that scenario as you're proposing.
  4. At full speed it might appear that way, but it wouldn't have been a TD. The safety over top would have picked it had Bryce gone to Diontae. The defender doesn't drive on Thielen until the ball is being thrown. It was a good play.
  5. Max Duggan has been released by the Chargers.
  6. He's right tho. There's a reason why a lot of people left for the Discord or just left the board in general... and it wasn't just because it was the offseason. It was because of how toxic this place was with the same group of people posting in every thread the same (disproven) complaints. They justified their chosen behavior because they said that they were: a) entitled to being douchenozzles since the team sucks and b) the real victims because a couple of Bryce Young fans leading up to the draft hurt their feelings. Multiple people have shared that this has been their experience. To continue to dismiss it as if it isn't the case is, as you said, just silly.
  7. That sounds incredibly gross and unethical to me, but I can understand the temptation behind it.
  8. I always prefer winning, even if it is a "meaningless football game" that hurts draft position.
  9. But... what makes the narrative that you prefer common sense and not the other? Why is your's exclusively reality and the health of the position groups being a factor simple bs? There isn't any rational perspective here. It's a lot of emotionally driven fatalism. This isn't a zero-sum thing that it keeps being made out to be.
  10. Wait a minute... if we're not supposed to believe anything Canales says then why are you believing him?
  11. He was responding to questions about what he did during the start of the offseason and his exact words were: "I was kind of away from football for the most part, just living every other aspect of my life. Just hanging out, being around family, being around friends, getting back to a routine that doesn't revolve as much around football. For me, it was still being able to just enjoy and work out, but the Xs and Os actual football part, kind of stepping away from it. Legit, it sounds boring, like I'm holding something out, but I'm not. But it's really like I watch YouTube, I watch TV, I watch Netflix, and every once in a while, I'll go someplace to maybe look at some clothes or something. There's nothing really cool that I'm just trying to hang onto. I'm definitely kind of a homebody. I'm an only child, so I'm used to being able to just chill on my own. That's how I decompress. So it's really just that." Bryce was emphasizing that he didn't go out partying, worked on other business projects, did promotional work, etc. Just that he took time off to decompress and relax. He also said that he enjoyed sleeping in for about a week before getting back to his morning workout routine. It's just haters hating at this point. It's already been confirmed by multiple players that they got up with Bryce to workout and work on routes during the offseason.
  12. For anyone that's interested, a snapshot of his PFF page + grades from 2023 and 2022 2023 2022
  13. Went ahead and asked the Panthers discord. Sounds like as long as the Panthers have space on the 53 they'll get their picks of the litter. WOOT!
  14. I'm looking at two different write ups where one says we'll get whoever we want when it comes time to put in a claim during those first 3 weeks like you mentioned while the other says it's not that way. I guess we'll find out next Tuesday/Wednesday. Personally, I want it to be the way you suggested where the team can just claim whoever tf they want and roll from there.
  15. Not to say that we lose any positioning, but that when we put in that first waiver claim it won't have to be for a DB and the team ends up missing out on OL/QB3/EDGE. To my understanding (and please, somebody correct me if I'm wrong), being first in priority doesn't mean that the Panthers get all of their players that they put in a claim for but rather they'll get the first one, and if the second one goes unclaimed by the remainder of the league they'll be able to land them, and so on. Still trying to find clear and concise rules though to make sure. The way that I understand it to work means that the Panthers can put that first claim towards OL, QB3, or EDGE instead of putting in for the CB first and potentially losing a guy at one of those other positions that they want to bring in.
  16. Trading for Jackson also means that the team can use that waiver wire priority to pick up their favorite OL, EDGE, or QB3 instead.
