  1. The Kentucky RT #77 is so abysmally bad that he makes Nate Chandler look serviceable.
  2. Right? There's so many other things that need to sequentially take place first: 7 games left in the season (team can be anywhere from 3-14 to 10-6) Head coach needs to be hired Coaching staff needs to be retained/hired Film review needs to take place with the new staff to evaluate the current roster We won't have any inkling on the direction the team is leaning until we've got that new coach, know what their coordinators' schemes are going to look like, and what type of players they'll need to fit those schemes. Going with a west coast offense? Corral might be the guy. Want to run a Coryell-style offense? Might be better off drafting a QB. Who knows. At this point, the most we can do as fans is temper our expectations. For those of us that look forward to the draft regardless of the team's record, it just means focusing on the prospects instead of the position groups. Just too much up in the air to allow ourselves to get stirred up to the point where we're addicted to raging on a message board.
  3. "We didn't win the Super Bowl, so it wasn't worth it" is such a wild response to drafting a HoF pass rusher.
  4. There are some really, really solid late day 2, early day 3 LB prospects out there. Some pretty good coverage guys, some good pass rushers, some guys that can definitely make an impact on ST, etc. The money saved from Shaq alone could lead to two decent veteran FAs as well. I'm excited to see what the LB group morphs into. Will be especially important as well for helping the team run whatever base defense they want to go with that isn't Snow's 3-3-5.
  5. 77 the RT wouldn't have a future as a doorman let alone an NFL RT with the way he just allows folks into the back
  6. Will Levis' stat line vs. Vandy? Woof. Do not want at all. Excited to see Max Duggan & Quenton Johnston vs. Texas!
  7. Damn... sucks for DJack. Hope that playing on that hurt ankle didn't make things worse for him
  8. Luvu isn't an FA until 2024
  9. How is a QB supposed to look good when their OL consisted of: LT Dennis Daley LG Mike Horton C Cade May's RG Deonte Brown RT Austin Pleasants Not even prime Cam Newton could uplift that offense, and that's just the OL.
  10. I've grown okay with the idea of gambling a 1st on Young despite his size, but I don't think any of the other QBs would be worth the swing. It's night and day compared to other prospects though how well he sees the field and goes through his progressions.
  11. My favorite part about this thread is the amount of replies essentially saying, "Your math is right, but I have feelings."
  12. Which circles us back to the issue of their not being a Cam in this draft class, but there certainly looks to be Gabberts and Lockers.
  13. The LB group was one of the major question marks going into the season, but there are even bigger question marks next season when the team is sure to make Shaq Thompson a cap casualty ($11M in dead cap, but $13M freed up). That leaves the team with Frankie Luvu, Damien Wilson, and Brandon Smith as the only LBs remaining on the roster. Fortunately, there's a lot of veteran LBs set to be on the market in the offseason. Lavonte David, Kyle Van Noy, Denzel Perryman, Cory Littleton, Kwon Alexander, DEion Jones, Alex Anzalone, Raekwon McMillan, Leighton Vander Esch, and Roquan Smith are all potential free agents. This upcoming draft class is also quite talented at LB as well. Some of the current prospects of interest include: Jack Campbell (Iowa) Ivan Pace Jr (Cincinnati) Henry To'oTo'o (Alabama) Daiyan Henley (Washington State) Drew Sanders (Arkansas) Trenton Simpson (Clemson) Noah Sewell (Oregon) Justin Flowe (Oregon) Owen Pappoe (Auburn) Cedric Gray (UNC) What are some of your solutions to the potential problem at LB next season?
  14. I think that the biggest bang for buck will be trading down. The best QB in this draft is 5'10" 190lbs. Even with a solid OL, that's going to be a big point of concern (especially for a team that's had injuries rack up at the QB position). If the team moved on from Burns, then yea go get Anderson but unless the team is looking to move to a 3-4 base I don't see it being a good fit. With all of the clamoring over the importance of picks for rebuilding after Burns wasn't traded, the lack of a clear #1 franchise QB, and the #1 player basically being a copy of our current premiere pass rusher, making a trade similar to what was made for Trey Lance would net the team those beloved draft picks and give the coach that "free year" with Matt Corral at QB to see what he's got (he'd be in the discussion for QB1 in this year's draft if he stayed for his Sr year). If he's ass trash, then there's ammo to move up to #1 for Drake Maye
  15. So for an immediate 2nd the team loses their current leader in sacks, TFLs, and QB hits? Then two future firsts so that they can wait another season to potentially trade up for a QB? No thank you. No head coach worth their pay wants to come to a team with no players and a bunch of lotto tickets.
  16. What good are those picks when we aren't going to get to use them for years? The Jets picked in the top 10 for the last 6yrs (once @ #11). Are you suggesting that the Panthers do the same in order to be able to use those picks from the Rams and have a 6-3 record? That's insane.
  17. Jags, Jets, and Lions have been drafting in the top 10 since the Panthers last had a winning record. You can sell your house and use all of the money on Powerball tickets if you want, but that doesn't make it any less foolish.
  18. Getting rid of two of the best players on the roster (one of them with a team friendly deal that's already been signed) at two of the most important positions in today's game for lotto tickets is silly and self destructive. Going to be hard enough getting a quality HC. Last thing the team needs to do is make it even harder by having nobody on the roster. Plus... the Rams? We're mad that we didn't trade for a 2030 & 2031 1st?
  19. I wouldn't mind trading back for both of Seattle's 2023 1sts, one of their two 2nds, and their 2024 1st...
  20. I liked Aqeel Glass as a day 3 pick-up... Now to wait and see if my current draft crush Max Duggan is gonna end up like Aqeel Glass or Tyler Linderbaum
  21. Pickett, Willis, Ridder, Corral, and Howell were all being mocked in the first before going where they went in the draft. I don't think that you can hold being drafted in the 3rd round against him, especially given that he would likely be discussed as the #1 QB in this current draft class. Going back and watching Corral vs Young & Hooker in 2021 was fairly eye opening.
  22. I'm all in with rolling with Corral next season for a multitude of reasons including if he sucks then the team has to throw everything, kitchen sink included, at being in position to draft Draft Maye.
