AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH *abandons work for football*
-
My favorite part about situations like this is the inevitable silence from folks that were up in arms over the move.
-
Some folks here being on the same wavelength as Jim Irsay makes sense.
-
I mean, Chris isn't wrong. To an uneducated observer, be it somebody's spouse that doesn't regularly watch the sport or an acquaintance at the gym who has (at best) a surface level understanding of the game, Bryce Young doesn't look like somebody you'd expect to go #1 in the NFL. Thankfully, that's why we don't just go off of a player's senior prom photo but rather their game tape. Anybody with just the slightest hint of a football IQ can watch the film and tell you that he was the #1 player in college at the #1 position in football.

Right? Frankie Luvu is literally right there. Von Bell, Xavier Woods, Jeremy Chinn, and Sam Franklin Jr are just ok? DeShawn Williams started for the Broncos last season on the DL for their 3-4. Justin Houston just signed. Folks don't have to believe that the defense will play up to their hopes and desires, but willfully dissociating from reality isn't going to help either.

Gotta make money and reporting the facts doesn't do that anymore.

Josh Kelley is a name that I haven't heard since TB trolls started posting in the main forum. I think he's on his way out in LA. They spent a 4th in the recent draft (which they spent on Kelley when he was drafted) on Isaiah Spiller. Will be interesting to see what Kelley is able to put on tape backing up Ekeler.
-
My favourite part about this season's RB threads is that a lot of the same folks wringing their hands over that group are the same ones that have been pounding the drum to spend the bare minimum on the position. I'm not saying to break the bank for a devalued position, but the irony is hilarious.
-
I have never seen this many fans cry over preseason games. Some folks need to touch grass (or I guess as Panthers' fans, turf).
-
Imagine how Browns fans must feel when that 4th string QB was the only thing worth a damn for them this week and last.
-
It's not just for some reason. He has horrible hands. His rookie season he had 7 drops on 37 targets for a drop rate of almost 20%. He was only targeted 17 times out of the backfield last season and still had a drop. He also had as many fumbles as he did touchdowns last season (2). He's supposed to be a track star but we've all seen him ran down from behind by LBs on breakaways (CMC was criticized for the same thing). This isn't to say that Chuba is a lost cause. He has shown growth and development. So long as that continues he'll finish his rookie contract with the team.
-
It would go pretty much like it does here. A third of the people will rage, another third won't care, and the final third will be okay with it. *looks at X/Twitter*
-
They already picked up a camp body CB since Mabin and one of the other CBs are hurt. I think that they roll with Hubbard/Blackshear/Brown and if there's concerns with Chuba then they might start kicking tires.

Name 3 things you are looking for against the giants
Icege replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
1) Improvement from the OL 2) Improvement from the DL 3) A back-up pass rusher stepping up -
Was this the one you were super excited about a few weeks ago? Great pick-up!

All of the mic'd up moments did not prepare me for this. I thought Sam Franklin Jr just stayed talking trash and would be funny as Hell, but I didn't expect him to be that funny and personable. Sam: "He got an old name. You really supposed to be born in the 80s." JJ: "You know I was born in the 80s, right?"
-
Now if Leonard Fournette wants to sign for $2M to just be the power back...... But then that means cutting depth in a position of need like OL, DB, DL, or EDGE
-
I don't believe that both would have signed here for a combined $4.555M knowing that they'd be splitting carries. That does nothing for their value besides tank it. Then there's the fact that Miles Sanders fits Reich's predominantly zone run system that likes to stress the edges. If it was going to be focused on running power then I'd take Foreman all day over Sanders at $2M. Heck, I'd still take Foreman for $2M in a predominantly zone scheme but with Sanders' ability as a receiver out of the backfield (which Bryce depended on with Gibbs back in Bama) and being better at stressing the edge I can't be mad at the current RB room.
-
ngl, I'm honestly impressed by the energy you two have to keep this going the entire day. Ole boys still got some fight in them.
-
Huddle: "They should have paid D'onta Foreman just $2M instead of the absurd $2.555M they're paying Miles Sanders for 2023 - 2024!!!"" Reality:

Who impressed and who sucked - preseason game 1
Icege replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Do you recall when that play took place? I just watched all three of the first offensive series that Christensen participated in (he didn't play after that) and he wasn't beaten by a single stunt. In fact, he picked up three stunts including the one Icky missed. The only two negative plays were a play where he got pushed back a yard but went no further and another play where he got pushed back a good bit but wasn't the reason for the sack. EDIT: I think that you're mistaking Christensen for Mays. During the first preseason game Bryce gets hit on the overthrow to DJ Chark. The hit came as a result of Cade Mays not picking up the stunt. That might have been what you saw. -
Nolan Smith opposite of Burns would have been insane to watch. TE depth might actually be worth a damn this year too! Mingo + TMJ developing into a solid WR duo would be incredible though. Very eager to see how that works out. The team has a decent enough core to where if some of these young guys show out in the next year or two they're going to be a part of the window. If not, replace em with somebody that can get the job done for QB1.

Christensen picked up the man moving inside. It was Icky that got beat. Unless you're calling out a later play that got Christensen ofc (I'm not recalling any, but plan on watching the all-22 during meetings today )
