  1. Definitely the Saints when looking at the current rosters and results from last season. Tampa has the weakest roster by far. Nearly every position group on that roster is not equipped to deal with losing a starter for the season. Atlanta and Carolina have a couple of groups where they could weather such a storm, but the Saints have the best depth by far. I'm eager to see how this roster develops and evolves under the new staff. We've already seen the death knell for many of Rhule's preferred players, so early signs are showing that Reich is going to put less of a premium on athleticism and more on football intelligence when it comes to later round selections in the draft.
  2. Fingers crossed that the team can keep Burns, Brown, Chinn, and eventually Horn as those four are key parts of the defense. Getting another pass rusher and some LB help for life after Shaq would be a huge boost next season (unless we find answers on the roster this season, of course).
  3. He claimed to have wanted to trade up for Allen but GM/owner overrode him. The Bills traded two 2nds to jump from #12 to #7 to select Allen. Arizona took Rosen at #10. Given his time with Cam, I don't doubt that Wilks saw a QB he could lean the entire offense on while building the defense in Allen.
  4. Anybody with half of a brain cell could tell that the situation in Arizona was fuged for Wilks from the beginning. Hard to hold his time there against him. His time here last season, if anything, is a much more accurate representation of what he can accomplish. Granted, that vision might be a bit dated given the offense. But Hell, if Rivera can be x2 COTY then Wilks could at least put together a competent 3 - 5 year stretch as a head coach somewhere.
  5. With some of our OLBs able to come down and play 4-3 DEs the DL makes sense. I'm expecting a CB to get added in the near future. Eager to see this team in action during the regular season. Going to be a lot of learning about this staff, their scheme, and how the players adjust.
  6. I am content with Hurst/Thomas/Tremble/Ricci/Sullivan (cut one), but wouldn't be mad if Okwuegbunam got a look.
  7. Deonte Brown waived but expected to hit the practice squad
  8. Brandon Smith gone too. Looks like they're comfortable with Shaq, Frankie, Kamu, and Chandler.
  9. DiRenzo looked overwhelmed vs. 3rd/4th string guys at times. Milton seemed to also get picked on (or at least be on the wrong end of a highlight) during the preseason. Expected Spencer Brown to be cut but still bummed. Surprised by the R. Williams cut tho. Like most have said already, figured the roster was his to lose after McCall was cut. I suppose he lost it. Would be surprised if Kobe Jones nor Eku Leota make the practice squad, assuming they don't get picked up by another team first of course.
  10. Deion Jones and Kobe Jones cut. Surprised about the Deion Jones cut, but not if it means Chandler Wooten made the team due to his ability to contribute on ST. Kobe Jones could end up being a practice squad stash. Michael Jordan is finally gone... the bad man can't hurt us anymore.
  11. Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Maxsaw Duggan
  12. Very eager to see how Chuba looks after a year under Duce and TB. That's an upgrade from Jeff Nixon and Ben McAdoo.
  13. It's definitely going to be interesting seeing the difference between the draft classes with Rhule and Reich. It'll also be interesting seeing the similarities (Fitterer). One commonality I'm seeing with Fitterer is that rounds 1 - 3 address needs (with emphasis on BPA in round 1). Rounds 4 - 7 seem like more of a coach's gambit. We'll know in the next draft if that still holds true.
  14. Very surprised by Kirksey and King being cut. Definitely wouldn't mind seeing what's going on there.
  15. We found him at #1 overall. It cost a couple of extra picks and he's not the size of a monster, but he's gonna be solid. 5yrs is a long time to wait to be right about him being too little. Enjoy what you can while you can.
  16. Good news on that front! Feeling much better about the OL overall after the preseason has concluded. Zavala showed capable if he needs to start, and McCray showed to be a capable interior back-up as well at center and both guard positions. The staff is bullish on Cade Mays as well. Brady Christensen is an amazing OL6 that has shown to be more than serviceable at LG and potentially capable at LT as well. In a perfect world, Christensen gets to be OL6 but in the real world he's shown enough to be able to hold down the fort until Zavala beats him out for his spot (or he has to fill in for somebody else that goes down).
  17. That is a bold statement given the recent Trey Lance debacle.
  18. Hardy was an elite-level athlete. YGM has no get off and best serves any team as a high-motor rotational guy that can start the last few games if the starter goes down. Yetur had potential as a base 4-3 strong side end, but his burst and handfighting skills just aren't there.
  19. Exactly my thoughts as well. All of the "We both said Lance!" seemed forced in interviews. Man oh man does that trade up look even worse now.
  20. No. His get-off is terrible. He's a high motor guy and that's about it. Rotational guy at best that can finish out the season if you lose your starter midway thru
  21. Jennings and Poole could be interesting PS additions.
  22. Beyond giddy to see Bryce progress this season. He looks like he belongs.
