  1. JMatt fan ever since his Raw Room appearance
  2. I wouldn't be mad at a WR room consisting of Diontae, Thielen, Mingo, XL, TMJ, ISM, and Coker Especially if they're going to be marching out a bunch of 11 personnel sets.
  3. We were gonna go, but money is crazy tight and we've got a lot of travel planned for the holiday season so we had to sacrifice Fan Fest T_T
  4. Oh poo, the Washington kid? Dude is a DAWG. Played hurt in the CFB and did everything he could to help Washington.

  6. Hearing some concepts emphasized rather consistently: Iron sharpens iron Grit/tough Internal motivation > external motivation Focus on defeating yourself, not your teammate Looks like the team has bought in to it enough to emphasize it during their media sessions.
  7. I understand that some of y'all feel like 20yds shouldn't be classified as a deep pass, but it is. The sooner that can be accepted, the sooner a better "Bryce is too smol" talking point can be found to spam in every thread.
  8. Bryce Young up Feels good. Pads bring out a little more intensity. Makes things physical, but they're still family. Brothers in the locker room. Don't want to lose periods, want to remain productive even with the intensity being raised. Making sure to keep on task and when it's over, it's over. Everyone has each others' backs and that will translate to Sundays. Asked about guys that got brought in, says they're great competitors and appreciates their mindset. Tries to be the same way by communicating and improving, and has nothing but confidence in the five up front. Gotta establish the run game. Doing great up front. There will be some runs that don't go well but they know that they won't abandon it. Negative plays can happen no matter what is called. Support the run game and take opportunities that it creates for them. Growing and building together with Diontae. Works hard, super competitive. Sees his fire in practice and are continuing to communicate to get on the same page. Started real well and they're gonna keep working on it. Asked about how he's evolved his leadership from college to the pros. Bryce liked that question a lot and said he had to think on it. Is trying to make sure that he earns the right to be a leader by focusing on getting better and showing his improvement. Having that mindset is important, but also needs to build relationships and get to know the guys off the field. It's on him to carve out time. Being year two allows for more time and more connections, and learning a new system helps them with that teambuilding. Corbett was active while hurt the same as he was when starting. Was in meeting rooms, asking questions, etc. They're continuing to talk and build their relationship as they discuss things after plays. Impressed with how much of a student of the game that Corbett is and is glad that they've got good rapport. Miles Sanders was super intense today and has a game day mentality to maximize his reps. Says that the attitude will permeate throughout the offense. Every rep is intense and intentional. Still a little bit of the Wofford-stay away feel that he experienced as a rookie. Guys at the same hotel, taking the bus, being across the street, etc. Likes that they have their own restrooms this year. They've got a couple of good performances for the rookie talent show. Had a couple of guys skate by. Yesterday was a better today, so hoping there's better effort today. Coaches got called up and did well. Still waiting for that steal the show type of performance. XL has gone. Verdict is still out on his performance, waiting on the "higher powers" to decide that. Mingo is playing more freely even though it's a new system. Was confident before, but more free now that he has that year of experience under his belt. Embraces his position and at times they both were trying to survive rather than strive, but doing good now. Practice done for the day.
  9. Robert Hunt at the podium Canales brings good energy. Got a black Tesla truck recently. OL can run block, today went well. Some things worked, some didn't. Had good competition today. Thinks that they have really good guys that are willing to compete, be gritty, and run the football. Couldn't tell Corbett was transitioning to center. Seems like he was the center last year. Has done a good job communicating and getting on the same page. Same reporter asking about guys holding on to feelings from last year. Hunt reiterated what Canales did: past is in the past and guys are focused on trying to win now. Talent show coming up. Got some talented guys and some tomato throwers. Knew that Bryce was a playmaker, now playing against him: "He likes to make plays. That's what we need. He's tough. He can sling the ball, put it in tight windows." Is really impressed with what he sees. Everybody is different. Bryce can do things that Tua can't and vice versa. Hasn't had to adjust when he holds on to the ball because it's right on schedule. OL isn't holding it longer than they need to, and that's what really impressed Hunt for such a young guy. Damien Lewis is a stud. One of those old school, big body guards that puts hands on you and gets physical in the phone booth. They live within walking distance from one another and talk. Haven't been to each other's homes yet, but are pushing each other on and off the field. He's a quieter guy that speaks up. Got vocal today. Old guy in the room. Thinks the pads going on is the same game, but did feel a little different than the past. Said Derrick Brown was a little heavier. Was asked about competing against DB, and Hunt says that they'll make each other better. Iron sharpen iron. If one doesn't bring it, the other is gonna get them. Played him a couple of times in his career. Mentions DB and Dexter Lawrence as big, strong guys that can do things that other big, strong guys can't. Felt what he felt from him in practice today what he felt in games, which was impressive. Somebody was drawing him. Looks like Robert will get the sketch later on.
  10. Canales press summary Great spirited day for the first day of pads. Toeing the line and pushing each other. Great opportunity to teach what happens in the game. Pull our guys away, don't give the opponent anything. Rashaad Penny didn't feel like he wasn't himself while trying to get back to what he was. Sounds like he couldn't get it to respond right after all of the injuries. Had the conversation yesterday afternoon after practice. Shaq + Moton shut down for the day to recover and allow their bodies to bounce back in time for the Clemson practice. Has to review the wide view film for what happened on the last play of practice. Wasn't aware of the drone stuff, redirected Person to somebody else. Trevin Wallace is big, strong, and fast. Looking for him to get comfortable with defense, calls, and alignment. Young guys tend to think too much and he's still teetering in that mode. Looking for him to settle in and be fast + strong every day. Message to the team is that they have to be able to practice hard. Gotta hit. Gotta set blocks up. Gotta have the physical nature of play to figure out who can do what while also pushing one another. Making sure to get minds focused on what's best for the team after the play is over. Plummer and third string guys are getting a lot of reps in order for the staff to better evaluate. They will get snaps in preseason. Want to make sure the basics are there before/while evaluating. Brief canned response to QB3 rule. Asked about iron sharpening iron. Doesn't want the team to beat the guy in front of them in practice, but wants both sides to bring their best which will ultimately elevate the team. Too early to tell whether or not Rashaad Penny retiring means that other RBs have a shot. Talked about OL. Brought up Chandler Zavala, Cade Mays, and Brady Christensen on looking good. No updates still on the Daewood Davis injury other than it'll take a couple of weeks to recover. They need legs so they signed another WR so that they could have the numbers they need. Taking Yosh day-to-day, but hoping to have him performing in camp before it's over after the reinforcement procedure he had. Talked to Bryce about last season who had some carry over but it was mostly about looking forward to trust the process, trust how they teach QBs, and trust how they teach the offense. Just today matters, and he shows that. No panic with him. Wasn't down in any way. Nothing changed for him with pads on either. Was still trying to move the ball, took some good play action shots. Had some hiccups at the end but they're going in the right direction. Everybody takes the bus together to Clemson. It's a team function and they're practicing being together as a team while also changing the environment to something similar to the season (not sleeping at home, on the road, etc). Guys aren't using external what happened in the past to motivate them but what is happening today with the 2024 Panthers. Canales tries to keep them looking forward towards the next practice to correct mistakes from today's. If external motivation is used, then what happens when it's gone? Has to come from within. Trying to help guys capture attaining their best. Mentioned Miles Sanders and how the momentum can affect the whole group. David Newton asked about Sanders' post-play comments, Canales said he didn't see it and immediately moved to the next question. Preseason game one is the most important game for a lot of guys on their roster. Tries to approach practice that way. Opponent and time of year don't matter, capture it now. Got some new info how to handle the physicality and not take it personal. Find opportunities to make it a game rep. If practice goes 20min longer, than go 20min longer and make it important is the message. Keeping score for the offense vs. defense, but won't be awarding anything to the winner. Guys go crazy just competing, having a score is all the incentive they need.
  11. Would y'all mind waiting until practice is over to poo up the thread with what you believe should be classified as a deep ball?
