  1. Canales up first. Guys got their legs back yesterday and started a little slow when they came out Bryce challenged them in the huddle and they responded "Dominant practice for the defense today." Praised turnovers, "beautiful hits," and being physical Praised Moehrig, Ransom, Incoom, and Jones II Confirmed playing starters. Predominantly a young team and can't pass up an opportunity. Emphasized game day routines such as nutrition, body readiness, etc. Plus it's a bunch of new guys on the defense. Bryce will start. Will play them the first two, but starters might sit for the third game depending on how practice goes that week. Nic Scourton has a mild hamstring that happened in special teams. DJ Johnson had an issue with his hip flare up and is getting checked out this afternoon. Experimenting with approach to preseason games. In Seattle they played their starters in all but the last preseason game and what Pete Carroll was looking for in terms of mental readiness to play football. Thomas Incoom has been getting a lot of work with AC Carter adding to his toolbelt. Getting better as a rusher and being physical in the run game. Looking for a consistency in response. 1pt for a win, 3pts for a TD. Defense doesn't like that, but in games if they give up one go ball the score can swing. They challenged the pass game and the run game today. Guys are getting together before, between, and after team drills to challenge each other Job of the coaching staff to set the foundation for our schemes, philosophy, and expectations of what it's like to play Panthers football. Powerful when players take that and the locker room owns it. That's when it becomes our team, their team. At the end of the day, the men on the field have to rebound from a bad play, celebrate the good plays, and keep each other in tune for a whole game. Robert Hunt is amazing. Size, talent, quickness, flexibility. Really intelligent guy that there will say himself there are technique things he needs to work on. Regardless of where players are at, there's a constant learning curve and loves that Big Rob is challenging himself with the position coach. Thinks the digital down and distance can be really valuable. Getting the information quickly will help with the flow of the game. Thought TMac looked great but there were some near misses that he'll have to get in the room and communicate with Bryce on while reviewing film. James Mitchell keeps doing right and his trust factor is increasing with the QBs. If you're right and the coverage says the ball goes there, it'll come. Had some issues at the start of camp but is trending up. Newton or Person: "It looked like today was beyond thud but short of live. What do you call that?" Canales: "No, that's thud. In my mind, that's what thud should look like. The challenge for our defensive guys is can you put your body in a position where we know that would've been a tackle." Whizzing by, tagging with two hands, etc doesn't show you whether you would've made a tackle. That's not real football. Let's the play extend because guys have to be ready to chase sometime where the ball squirts out from a pit. Can't train to say "Ah, it was a tackle" and relax but instead play with intensity through the whistle. Lathan Ransom is bringing the physical style of play that they saw on film. Has been really into the details and someone that they can count on. Has really given himself a chance to start at the other safety position. Excited for the extra energy from a game-like environment that they'll get from FanFest. Used to have four preseason games and now FanFest feels like that first one. Will give ST full speed reps to evaluate. Making plays and feeding off of the fans. Window closed quickly on the INT to finish practice. CSW baited Bryce with some movement and made a great play. Saw it from Bryce's perspective with TMac coming open. Has played all over the secondary that they can count on to speak loudly and be on the same page with his teammates.
  2. Tommy Tremble (back) rehabbing on the sidelines Nic Scourton (?) is sidelined Kay Adams is in the building Not many videos today, shooting period ended ~20min ago
  3. Panthers practice stream that started 45min ago
  4. Have the Jags given any hints yet on what their plans are? I'm in the same boat as you thinking he'd be better off as a CB with a package of plays on offense, but looking at their personnel in both groups... the poor bastard could end up having to pull double duty after all. WR: BTJ, Dyami, Parker Washington, Joshua Cephus, Austin Trammell CB: Jarrian Jones, Tyson Campbell, Jourdan Lewis, Christian Braswell With the Jags recently losing Montaric Brown to... I think it was an Achilles injury... I could see Hunter getting more looks but talent-wise he might provide a better boost to the WR room. Watch JAX make him play WR this season, CB next season, both in year 3, and then trade him in year 4 after he's sacrificed his legs. I genuinely hope it doesn't go that way... Travis seems like such a good kid.
  5. Padded practice underway! Got about an hour to catch up on. Quick summary of what's posted so far: Renfrow (hamstring) working with a trainer before practice, likely on the sidelines today Mike Jackson (toe) back in pads today after missing the last two practices Panthers started streaming a portion of practice @ 10:15am (will drop the link for that later when I find it) Pat Jones (illness) back at practice
  6. I can't believe that I went to look up the ratings just to see Horn Jr's speed and forgot to look at it... Oops... 91 SPD Evans has 81 SPD
  7. Refer to JJ Watt's post regarding camp stats. We've been waiting for a Panthers' offense that sticks up for it's QB since Cam. The fact that the team is making moves in the passing game with young weapons is a very much welcome change of pace.
  8. idk if this would make sense for the Jags. BTJ is their #1, they traded up for Travis Hunter, and Dyami Brown is on a 1yr deal after showing promise in Washington (as well as Jags training camp). Coker would likely compete with Joshua Cephus for WR4. Doesn't seem like a very good transaction for them.
  9. TMac is 77 OVR (89 SPD) Scourton 74 Princely 72 Etienne 72 (92 SPD) Jackson 70 Fitzgerald 70 Ransom 69 Horn Jr 67 Evans 67
