  1. Tbh, I don't mind the folks trying to play Madden as opposed to playing football. There are some minor adjustments that can be made to ultimately bust up a lot of the no huddle stuff. Shift the DL to the center, put a DE in QB spy, and then control a LB or S to patrol the field. Teddy is fine in the game too tbh. I've had no problem getting the ball out, just gotta make sure you read the coverage and hit the open man. I get a huge kick out of dumping it off to CMC during the end of the first half when they're dropping everybody back so that I can activate his superstar x factor :3
  2. Drafted, sure, but free agency has been a part of it as well. Ted Ginn Jr was brought in the year after Joe Adams was drafted, and while he wasn't called for return duty in 2014 & 2015, he did return to the job in 2016. According to some Huddlers, CMC was a returner drafted in the top 10 lmao 2018 + 2019 was just like 2014 + 2015 in the by committee approach, but Pharoh Cooper was brought in to do returns and Trenton Cannon was also getting opportunities. I think we'll see Trenton Cannon pulling return duty this upcoming season along with Shi Smith. Shi, despite training camp reports not giving the warm fuzzies in regards to his return ability, has plenty of it from his time at SCar.
  3. No love for Josh McCown? Surprised that KJ Wright hasn't been brought in to be worked out given his ties to Fitterer. Wouldn't mind DJ Swearinger getting a looksie as well to be that enforcer at SS
  4. I'm sorry, but are we saying that THE PJ Walker aka Mr Undefeated is about as effective as The Flying Graysons' invisible safety net? Tho considering how that draft went overall, we'd have likely taken Miller where we took Grier, but I definitely would have taken Minshew over Scarlett in the 5th.
  5. Which is another reason for my excitement: a lot of Brady's play calling last year was using the TE as a decoy to pull the coverage before laying out said coverage. Look at DJ and Robby: both dudes that block hella aggressively when the ball isn't in their hands. That was another big reason for Curtis' success imo. Agent 89 showed us just how much a WR that blocks like a TE can help the other guys getting targets. Now we got a TE that can block like a downhill FB? Let's gooo
  6. Pro personnel folks commonly say that year 3 is when most players are going to be who they are. The two position groups that they say can take up to 5 are DE + QB. Of course, you want them to flash early and often, but spending their first 3 seasons with Adam Gase is not setting up any player for success. Plus, I'd rather the rest of the team get built up so that they can install a QB and allow them to develop into the franchise guy everybody wants to throw money at. That's going to take away from the team's ability to have depth at other positions, which there's already hand wringing over. Eviscerate the staff because they sent a 2nd round pick for a #3 overall selection where the first two picks were Mayfield & Saquon? Nah. I don't agree with that at all. Especially considering that the team had no idea how the most recent draft's QBs were going to fall. Remember how many posters in here were on their shared high horse looking down their snotty noses that picks #1 - #5 were going to all be QBs when that's never happened before in the history of the draft?
  7. Returner is a liiiiiittle low on the list when rebooting a roster.
  8. Tremble has all of the makings of a quality H-back. Can line up as a TE or FB, block or catch passes, destroy or maim, etc. Really looking forward to preseason when he gets to be in pads hitting defenders in the mouth.
  9. Hindsight is showing that moving on from Cam was the best move. He was still having physical issues last season, not including COVID. Fields was available, but do you burn your first two picks on QB or do you burn just one? Considering that they had already spend a 2nd on Darnold due to uncertainty on where the chips would fall in the 1st, they made the best move there as well imo. Would we rather have FIelds/Darnold with DJack/Bouye/Pride Jr or would we rather have Darnold/QB2 with Horn/DJack/Bouye? I'd personally take the latter, especially given the flexibility with Darnold's contract.
  10. Definitely would like to see some churn in regards to depth for safety, QB2, back-up LBs, and every position on the OL except for Moton's. Let's not forget that this is year 2 for the coaching staff. A complete roster overhaul isn't done in just a season, especially a season that was affected by a pandemic. With that considered, they've done an excellent job stocking the WRs, CBs, RBs, and DL. Hopefully we'll see that the TE group's overhaul was successful and we're left with just S, OL, and LB to finish shoring up. The fact that we have competent starters at LB and Jeremy f'n Chinn at safety helps tremendously with those areas. I don't think we'll see what some of the young OL guys are really capable of until later in the season or maybe even next. If at least one of Little or Daley can step up, that'd be a big help.
  11. As a game overall, it's terribad. Glitches galore, but very rarely does it effect the actual game itself so that's nice (you know it's bad when day 1 the ball is glitching out during TD celebrations, but that's just aesthetic issues). As a football game tho? It's gotten a LOT better. I just hate that they keep calling it a simulation. I play primarily online ranked and exclusively as the Panthers. It's gotten MUCH better in regards to folks just rolling out of the pocket and chucking it deep after a few audibled routes. Burns in QB spy while rushing 3 and dropping the rest into zone while controlling an LB usually stops a lot of the bullshit that folks like to get away with. The nano-blitzes not being as plentiful either has also been nice. Been waffling on picking it up, but I'll go ahead and preorder today. I hate that they spend so much time on MUT, but that's their big money maker so I get it.
