  1. Was completely legal and during the middle of the round too.
  2. Can't answer for the other user, but can for myself as I've outright called Pickett's ceiling being a game manager. While he does go through his progressions, there are plenty of throws out there where he either takes the check down (even though he has another man open further downfield) or he forces the ball into a window (that in the NFL is going to be a pick). The latter is due to his lack of arm talent. He can make the NFL throws, but he's not going to be scaring teams with his vertical passing game nor does he have the zip on the ball to make the type of throws we became familiar with during Cam's first tenure. This is further supported by a relatively low YPA (7.3) as well as AYPA (7.5). The hand size might be a meme at this point, but his turnovers aren't. Over his 48 game college career, Pickett has thrown 38 INTs and fumbled the ball 28 times. That's 4 turnovers every 3 games, and the fact that his numbers were consistent up until his senior year when he suddenly started throwing TDs gives me a lot of concern. For all of the talk about his athletic versatility, he is not going to break open big plays by scrambling (especially without a fake slide!). He can extend plays behind the LOS and does well keeping his eyes downfield, but his 1.9yd rushing avg tells all that it needs to in regards to how often he's going to make a play with his legs. I was the first to say it, and I'll keep saying it: Kenny Pickett is Teddy Bridgewater. A smart, pre-snap QB that isn't going to wow you with his scrambling ability nor is he going to impress you with his arm talent. He can get the ball to his playmakers in space, stretching the field horizontally. This is great for college ball, where you can get it to a weapon and just out-athlete the other team. In the NFL though... we have seen how defensive coordinators adjust. Pickett also doesn't spread the ball around. For his senior year, Jordan Addison accounted for 17 TDs, 1593yds, and 100 receptions. 30% of the receptions, 37% of the passing yards, and 40% of Pickett's TDs went to one player in his senior year. This isn't out of the ordinary either, as Maurice Ffrench was Pickett's preferred target before Addison joined and in his final year with the team Ffrench accounted for over a third of Pickett's completions, yardage, and TDs. He's the "safest" pick in that he needs the least coaching up out of all of the other QBs when it comes to mechanics and reading a defense, which are very important skills to have if there is a chance at success in the pros. However, it's hard for me to see him as anything higher than a late 1st round pick, but he'll likely go higher than that simply due to the desperation that comes with needing a QB. To be honest, he'll likely be the most successful out of all of the other QB prospects, but that success will be as a game manager and high-upside QB2. Just like Teddy.
  3. 2021: PHI traded its first- and fifth-round selections (6th and 156th overall) to MIA in exchange for first- and fourth-round selections (12th and 123rd overall), and a 2022 first-round selection. 2018: TB traded first- and seventh-round selections (7th and 255th) to BUF in exchange for BUF's first-round selection (12th) and two second-round selections (53rd and 56th) 2016: CLE traded its first- and sixth-round selections (8th and 176th) to TEN in exchange for Tennessee's first- and third-round selections (15th and 76th) as well as its 2017 second-round selection Using those trades as a framework, some potential trades... NYJ: First- and second-round selections (10th and 38th) for first- and sixth-round selections (6th and 181st). WAS: First-, second-, and 2023 fourth-round selections (11th, 42nd, 2023 4th) for first- and 2023 seventh-round selections (6th and 2023 7th) DEN: First-, second-, and third-round selections (9th, 64th, and 75th) for first- and 2023 fifth-round selections (6th and 2023 5th). Good chance at Cross or Linderbaum still being on the board at either of those selections in the 1st, and then the team can opt to chase or wait for a QB in the 2nd (Aqeel Glass pls kthx). The Jets trade would even allow the team an opportunity at trading back and picking up a 3rd or another 4th.
  4. Trade back, acquire a 2nd, and go get him while still being able to get Cross or Linderbaum :3
  5. If y'all were hoping to see the best QB in this draft, he wasn't at the Senior Bowl. He already played at the Collegiate Bowl :3
  6. I liked Teddy, but the thought of picking an updated version of him in Pickett at #6 makes me irrationally angry. Now... if we trade back and acquire a 2nd round pick, let's have a conversation about that man Aqeel Glass.
  7. If we draft Pickett and he is ass, one of you ass clowns saying that they need to sack up and throw away 1st rd picks on a mediocre QB class owes me a ticket to a game (nosebleeds are a-ok, I'm just grateful to be there).
  8. There are tons of stories of WRs sharing how they got into a WR room and a veteran took them aside to help them learn their craft and be a better pro. I can't think of any job that wouldn't benefit from having a mentor available to guide you. A position coach is more or less a manager. Having that senior guy on the team that looks out for you because you're a part of the team makes you better. It's the same story as Revis' when he got to the Patriots. He stayed just on his man until Brandon Browner beat his ass during practice because Revis wouldn't communicate nor help out his teammates. He just took his assignment.
  9. Might be worth mentioning that if a guy is suddenly catching your eye just because he's there and not terrible (ie: Jack Coan), it's probably a good idea to watch their college games and ask why their numbers were consistently garbage. Excellent year though to take a developmental talent. A lot of potential QB2s and QB3s that could work their way into a roster spot within two to four years.
  10. That's kind of the point. Smitty didn't make his teammates better, he even said so himself that he looked at them as competition for his job and had no desire to help them.
  11. Great opportunity for Joe. He's going to get a chance to work his way back up to a coordinator position and will be doing so with a franchise QB already established.
  12. The Guess Who! game looked really fun. I cracked up when DJack told Burns that he knew that he was gonna get that it was RA after he asked about the jewelry
  13. To leap frog NYG and grab their favourite defensive player should they go with an OT at #4. The specific picks mentioned mirror what the Eagles did when trading up to #6 in the last draft.
  14. My fingers, toes, eyes, and ears are crossed that the Jets give us a call wanting to trade their #10 + #38 for #6 + #129
  15. It amazes me how much casual fans overlook the importance of a QB's fit within a system. I guess they're looking for the same versatility that Matt Rhule looks for in an offensive lineman.
  16. Most of the fan studies do support what you're saying in regards to being most likely to get a QB in the first two rounds (with a huge drop-off between the 1st and 2nd). The chances of landing a franchise QB outside of the 1st? Next to non-existent, even though the chances of landing one in the 1st round isn't exactly reassuring. 2nd (7) - Jalen Hurts, Derek Carr, and Jimmy Garoppolo are the only success stories here for 42.9% hit rate in the 2nd. 3rd (10) - Jacoby Brissett and CJ Beathard have gotten chances to show that they can start. The verdict is still out on Davis Mills, but he hasn't eliminated himself yet so we'll go ahead and include him as a hit for a rate of 30% in the 3rd over the last 10 years. 4th (13) - Dak Prescott is the only franchise guy from this, but let's go ahead and include Josh Dobbs who's made it as a back-up and Logan Thomas who is now the starting TE for Washington. That's a 23.1% chance of drafting a QB in the 4th that does at least something to contribute to the team. 5th (14) - I refuse to acknowledge Nathan Peterman as a success story. I mean... maybe a half point for Jake Fromm just so that there's SOMETHING? 0.04%. 6th (11) - Gardner Minshew is the name here, though Sudfeld has kept alive as a back-up. Sam Ehlinger put out some interesting tape this season also. We'll be kind here and include them to make it a 27.3% hit rate. 7th (14) - Alone stands Trevor Siemian. 7.1% hit rate. UDFA (104) - Huntley & Heinicke look to be the only meaningful success stories from this group. That's a hit rate of 0.02% if you're hoping to find the next Tony Romo. Nobody in the last 8 years has found a franchise QB outside of the 1st round with the exception of Dak (4th) and possibly Hurts (2nd). However, not including the last two drafts, only 7 out of 19 QBs drafted in the 1st round are with the team that drafted them. Those QBs are Murray, Jones, Mayfield, Allen, Jackson, Mahomes, and Watson. Of that group, Jones and Mayfield might not be with their original teams after the upcoming season and Watson isn't even able to play due to his legal troubles. When we look at the current crop of QB prospects, depending on what makes a player a 1st round prospect for you, there's arguably only 2 - 4 guys that with 1st round grades (with only two of them being worthy of top-15 selections!). So even though I understand the chances of finding a guy outside of the 1st being very slim, I also understand that gambling on the next Teddy Bridgewater at #6 is even more harmful (and this is coming from somebody that likes Teddy!).
  17. I miss the Preview Post button. I have absolutely brutal ADHD (if you couldn't already tell from how I waterboard folks with walls of text) and even after re-reading something multiple times I'll still inevitably find an error that I missed T_T
  18. Reports are saying that he's leaving Tepper Sports & Entertainment to pursue other opportunities.
  19. God damn copypasta! EDIT: JUST missed the edit window. Gdi. fwiw there were no 7th rd QBs in 2021

  21. I had misread at the time of that post and thought that both the HBCU Combine + Collegiate Bowl were in Bama. Looks like Glass chose the Collegiate Bowl (which was in Cali) and can still go to the NFL Combine. Also still waiting on a compiled list from the HBCU Combine. There's been a couple of tweets for some of the players that caught the eyes' of coaches but nothing thorough nor easily displayable.
  22. Holy poo Sam's OL was terrible. I've watched UNC vs. Pitt, WF, Duke, and ND so far (wanting to watch NC State so that I can watch Ekwonu as well) and he was constantly under duress. The Liberty OL was supposed to be experienced but I read that their LG + RT dealt with injuries throughout the season. They look every bit the part of a bad OL tho.
  23. Literally watching the game vs. Ole Miss right now and all it's doing is solidifying him and Corral as better prospects than Pickett for me. Corral looks like the cleaner of the two, but Willis' ceiling is clearly higher. His OL forgot they were playing that day from the looks of how it's played out so far. I noticed that Willis had 27 rushing attempts in the box score, which is likely a direct result of the OL play (further evidenced by the 9 sacks that he took, one of them coming on a 3-man rush). One of his picks came as a result of a WR giving up and getting stripped. The one that he had at the end of the first half though was really bad and made concerned me about his ability to read a defense. He had a man heading up the middle of the field that looked like the better option from the moment the snap occurred.
