Not sure what the purpose of securing Baker would be other than getting rid of Darnold. Is Baker that much better of a mentor to Corral than Garoppolo and Darnold? Does the team believe that they can push for the playoffs this season if it's Baker at the helm? So many questions.

Whataboutism is a horrible fallacy that folks use in an attempt to justify their toxicity. At this point, we just have a bunch of middle-aged divorcees on a message board showing why their ex-wives left them and took the dogs.

Because most of the NFL gives their vets the first day of minicamp off. Only the Huddle cries about Rhule doing the same thing.

some tweets from OTAs...qb are throwing

To be fair, they would still be an upgrade over Elflein/Miller if that's the case. -
Excellent listen. I'm going to have to go through it a few times to really digest everything, and that's after already having what I thought was a decent enough grasp of the salary cap to understand some of the little tricks that go on. With the way that the system currently works, having Tepper as an owner instead of Richardson definitely helps the team should he be willing to cough up the cash in order to stay under the cap.

Says a lot about the state of the Huddle that folks would rather ask why Corral can't help rather than getting behind a good cause themselves to help a family in need. If this had been 7 - 8 years ago, that donation goal would have already been hit thanks to the collective efforts of Panthers fans. What a sad, sad decline.

The Panthers are the worst rated team in Madden 23

Can't wait to make all of the Chiefs, Chargers, Bills, and Rams players ragequit anyways when I 21-skunk em -
I think that's the rub right there. Most folks look at 1st round picks and think that they have to be elite players when in actuality, their draft status had more to do with their ceiling + ability to come in and immediately start (not saying that's the case with you btw, just what I see generally). Only a few kids will go into the NFL and immediately compete with the grown men whose families rely on them to provide. There's also the emphasis on banking on players to be "elite" that creates further discontent. For example, the 15+ sacks threshold. Let's look at just how many players have achieved that in the last few seasons: 2021: TJ Watt, Robert Quinn, Myles Garrett, Nick Bosa 2020: TJ Watt 2019: Shaquil Barrett, Chandler Jones, Cameron Jordan 2018: Aaron Donald, JJ Watt, Chris Jones Over the last four seasons, only ten individual players have broken 15 sacks. Hoping that our players achieve elite status is one thing, but expecting them to? That seems like it would just set us up to be disappointed most of the time. It's also worth mentioning that TJ Watt and Shaquil Barrett were the only two players on rookie contracts to do so out of the 10 players listed. Both Brown and Burns are solid, and while I'd love for them to do better on the stat sheets as well, that likely isn't happening until the play around them is elevated as well. Somewhat related note: holy poo does it suck to play OT for the Ravens in a division with TJ Watt, Myles Garrett, and Trey Hendrickson coming at you for 80 snaps. Then there's Jadaveon Clowney, Chase Winovich, and Sam Hubbard to deal with as well.

Fitzmagic did it for the memes, and I will always love him for that.

Dude is basically the unsung hero of the DL. Whatever he thinks is going to elevate his game, I'm here for it.

I think that Brandon Smith might make some plays

Suleiman introduced to Jeffrey Laurie (by Nicole Tepper)
Icege replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
Why would the team want that? Can't help but think that trying to get a player who's play fits the pay rather than a player who's play exceeds the pay is a bit shortsighted. -
Doing fairly well tyty Studying for certifications, son just finished up his first season of soccer, wife is on the other side of a mental health episode that had her down and out the last few weeks, and I'll be heading out of town to an event next week (that I was just added to the staff for!). I've had to cut down tremendously on getting my Panthers fix here, unfortunately. It is not worth attempting to research and create discussion threads anymore (which was what originally brought me to the Huddle). Now, threads are dominated by toxic regulars who go out of their way to repeat the same tired rhetoric in every thread without ever actually contributing to the discussion. It wouldn't be so bad if mods weren't also discouraging discussion by doing the same thing. Hopefully the team finds a way to start winning and we can go back to hating the mainstream sports media instead of ourselves + each other.

With quality QB play. Is this roster ready to go?
Icege replied to iamhubby1's topic in Carolina Panthers
Ioannidis is an upgrade from Jones. YGM is coming into his 3rd year and looks to be more than a competent replacement for Fox. Burns and Brown are solid. LB-wise, Littleton is better than what was rolled out last year at MLB. Shaq is that dude. Luvu backed up Reddick well. The loss of Reddick sucks, but there are upgrades everywhere else. Woods will also allow Chinn to play down in the box more. -

Already expensive enough to have to travel to Charlotte to see the team play

I think Mays makes the roster, though he might not be a part of the starting group (my prediction there is Ekwonu, Christensen, Bozeman, Corbett, and Moton). Now pick 3 to 4 players from below and we've got our OL group: Deonte Brown Dennis Daley Michael Jordan Pat Elflein Cameron Erving Mike Horton Sam Tecklenburg Austen Pleasants tbh I'd be okay with just taking Brown and two traffic cones at this point

Night and day between Panther and Canes home games

I would hope that a game 7 playoff game was more electric than a regular season game during a losing season. -

Cue the douchenozzles with their, "iF He GeTS PaiD MiLLioNs He CaN TaKe THe CRiTiCiSM," responses Tarik's tenacity is remarkable. I hope things turn around for him and his family sooner rather than later.
