His WRs were consistently bad throughout the season tbh. My wife is a Giants fan, so I got to at least watch her be happy this season. Golloday was a non-factor, Robinson was hurt throughout the season, and they lost Shepard week 3. Darius Slayton (NYG 2019 5th rd) and Richie James (SF 2018 7th rd) did a lot of work for them when it wasn't going to Saquan. Plus they lost Bellinger to the eye injury as well for a good bit. That roster overperformed this season to say the least.

Free agency has better pass rush options than the draft imo, tho I like KJ Henry in the 3rd or 4th. I don't see any likely available pass rushers in the 1st either that I think would have a bigger impact than Porter.
-
Horn + Porter == set it and forget it at the CB position My only concern is their contracts coming up for renewal once after the other, but at least it's not a project QB in the top 10 like other mocks have shown.

Nicole Tepper is the Chief Administrative Officer for Tepper Sports and Entertainment, the holdings company that owns the Carolina Panthers. Whether or not she deserves to be in that role is for folks to fret over however they see fit. It is what it is. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Why respond if you're not the one being referenced? Seems a little silly.

Anybody with an ounce of intellectual honesty can click back to page 3 of this thread and see the misogynistic behavior on full display. You might not have participated in it, but it's right there.

Worth mentioning also that Cam Turner followed Wilks out to Arizona and was there through this season as well after working himself up to Co-pass game coordinator/QB coach. Can't help but think that he's part of Wilks' plans for the offense that he had to present to Tepper. He also was here as the assistant WR coach (2015 - 2016) and then the assistant QB coach in 2017.

Good post is good. -
I've come to expect nothing but pure and utter chaos during the NFL offseason when it comes to decision-making whether it be players, coaches, or executives.

2023 they can cut him and save over $20.5M. Though idk if they're going to be confident with rolling out a QB drafted at #18

People are really riling themselves up over a 26yr old deciding to look out for his long term health instead of putting his career and future earnings at risk? It's not like the guy was checking out for Call of Duty double exp weekend. His injury was probably worse than what was diagnosed and/or there's been complications during the recovery. There's plenty of history with NFL teams and doctors not being as upfront about the severity of a player's injury. Good for Lamar. I hope that wherever he ends up, it's somewhere that will appreciate him as the person he is rather than treating him like an expendable commodity that most players are viewed as.
-
Because his current deal allows him to be cut in order to save the Lions $20.65M in cap space (it was a big reason why when DET was picking in the top 5 that QBs were being mocked to them). Though now that they're picking 18th, they're less likely to do it but crazier poo has happened.

QB carousel is going to be active again this offseason it looks Tom Brady Derek Carr Baker Mayfield Sam Darnold Jimmy Garoppolo Jacoby Brissett Geno Smith Carson Wentz Lamar Jackson? Jared Goff? Matt Ryan?

To add, in May 2020 the NFL also made it so that teams were not allowed to block assistants from interviewing for coordinator positions. So if Wilks does end up being retained, he can also retain Holcomb as the team will be in compliance with NFL rules as they'll have interviewed external candidates. Likely a mixture of staying in compliance as well as doing due diligence.
-
Hopefully because we won't keep McAdoo, but if whomever the HC is retains him then no other candidates are required to be interviewed. One recent change that I especially like is that teams cannot block

Only one playoff team in the NFC had/has a 1st round draft choice at QB.

According to some posters here, Daniel Jones being drafted in the 1st instantly makes him better than the rest of those QBs listed -
This makes sense when you consider that Al Holcomb was the interim DC and that the Rooney Rule was updated in 2021 to require at least one external minority candidate be interviewed for a coordinator job. Source: NFL Operations

Hopefully this means that Fitt isn't going to overpay just to gamble. If one of the guys they don't expect to be available falls, they'll still take him I think. Glad to hear that they're going to make sure they get a quality player rather than just targeting a position.
-
Worries me greatly that Wilks' answer to the offensive side of the ball is going to be either Cameron Turner (who followed him out to ARI) or Pep Hamilton (who many fans have said has had the benefit of working with top QBs rather than molding them).

He must be protected at all costs.

Hopefully he's available at 32
