Darnold hasn’t been in the league long and had an incompetent coaching staff around him. Darnold had no offensive line, no wrs and no RB. Cam had a good offensive line and RB Corp. average to below average WR Corp and a great coaching staff that has experience and a winning record. They have made back ups look good in their system. The difference between cam and Darnold is potential and age. Cam has already hit his prime and had lots of wear and tear on his body. Darnold hasn’t hit his prime yet and is younger than some rookie qbs. It’s possible that Darnold could become a good player with the right staff around him to teach him. It can take a few years for a QB to develop into a good player. Many teams give up on QBs too early in my opinion. You already know what you are going to get out of Cam. There is a lot of concern that his arm isn’t even close to the same as it was before his injury a few years ago. Can with a messed up shoulder is a back up at best.

I guess people are going to completely forget how he had like 6 games where he had less than 120 yards passing 4 under 100, more interceptions than touchdowns thrown and 6 fumbles. You can give him all the excuses you want like “he didn’t have anyone to throw to” but that’s bullshit. Great QBs put up good numbers with bad players around them all the time. He’s also been injured a lot. At the end of the day you aren’t entitled to anything in the NFL. No one owes you anything.

G Forrest Lamp has ties to our OL coach Pat Meyer

If I had to guess I could just about guarantee that he’s never fully recovered from his injuries and wouldn’t be worth signing. -
Rhule was trying to "hold" the lead today ?
rmoneyg35 replied to JABANOG's topic in Carolina Panthers
To be fair holding the lead makes sense. You are basically training the players for the regular season so you want them to get experience with holding the lead. -
Does it really matter if we play a rotation where YGM would get plenty of snaps? Also wouldn’t Fox be better against the run which usually means starting?

Is Terrace Marshall the rookie most likely to succeed?
rmoneyg35 replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
I swear every pre season we hear about how great a WR looks in camp and they end up sucking and sometimes not even making the team. I remember as far back as hearing Walter Young getting praise in 2003. I do think Marshall has potential to be great but I don’t think he will put up big numbers this year considering he will be the # 3 WR at best and we have Darnold at QB who is a question mark. Maybe DJ Moore or Anderson gets injured and he becomes the #2 while Darnold has a great year. That’s one way he could have a great season. However right now we don’t know if David Moore will beat him for the #3 WR spot. David Moore can make big plays and has lots of nfl experience. So chances are he could be the #4 WR this season behind David Moore. -
Considering how Ohio state QBs have translated to the NFL and how quarterbacks have developed in Chicago, I don’t expect Fields to do well in the NFL.

You think Cam is going to have a mvp season after having multiple games throwing below 150 yards passing? I mean are you expecting 80% of the players to get injured? Because Cam isn’t going to be mvp with guys like Mahomes, Rodgers, Allen, Jackson and Wilson. Hell you would probably have a higher chance of a running back like Henry or Mcaffrey winning mvp before Newton. There are probably 15 qbs who are better than Newton right now. I mean last year we were told how he was going to come back and be so great and how he was in such good shape and Bellacheat would get the most out of him and we saw how that went.

Didn’t Cam get in a fight with Norman and we ended up going to the Super Bowl that season?

You mean an injury prone QB got hurt? I’m shocked! Maybe the colts can finally get a top pick and draft a franchise QB.

Texans now indicate Deshaun Watson is available for trade

Do we get a discount because of the legal issues? Honestly if Darnold has a decent year we could get some decent trade value out of him. -
Xavien Howard requests trade
rmoneyg35 replied to Your GFs favorite huddler's topic in Carolina Panthers
So he’s already one of the highest paid CBs and wants more money? He’s already 28 and usually Corners start declining around 30. We just drafted a CB in the first so we would have a lot of money invested in the CB position. We would also be paying him a lot of money when he’s probably going to be declining. We would probably have to give up a lot to get him since CBs are worth a lot. I would say pass. -
The worst with a clean pocket, the worst in the red zone…

I actually saw a video the other day that said Darnolds receivers were horrible. So it doesn’t matter how good your pocket it if your receivers aren’t open or are dropping passes -
Panthers Cap Space (This Season) After Moton Deal
rmoneyg35 replied to CarolinaLivin's topic in Carolina Panthers
Can anyone explain why you wouldn’t front load the contract? I mean this year supposed to be a rebuilding year so wouldn’t you want more cap available in years 2-4 of the contract so we can have room to resign/ sign players? Why not put the majority of the contract for this year? -
To be fair from my understanding he was the best LS and one of the best in a long time. LS isn’t a flashy pick but it is important and if you can get the best then why not do it? I’ve seen games won and lost by the LS plenty of times. Our LS is pretty old and I believe is paid as one of the top LS in the league. So basically you are drafting a player for a starting position for a decade then it’s worth a 6-7 round pick.

Defensive Roster Changes for 2021 (Upgrade or Downgrade)
rmoneyg35 replied to Michael G's topic in Carolina Panthers
I have to wonder if Jones will help Brown get more sacks? I mean he really didn’t have a good DT beside him to take up blockers. Now he does which should free up Brown who if I remember correctly got a lot of QB pressures last year. I saw that Burris was the top or one of the top ranked safeties in the slot. I think he’s a solid player. I think Franklin can be a good player too. Perryman is a big upgrade he just has to stay healthy. I think Carter is a solid player and should be able to come in if Perryman gets injured. on paper CB looks greatly improved. We don’t know how good Horn will be in the NFL. Honestly I’m worried he might not be the dominate player we drafted him to be. I mean look at his tape, I don’t know if he can get away with that in the NFL. He will need to adapt. I think we will find out very quickly if he can adapt or not. Nixon could be a great player for us but I think he might not do much his rookie year. Honestly I don’t expect him o do anything until year 2 or 3 but I do see a lot of potential in him. overall I think our defense greatly improved. -
Panthers PJ Waker Ranked 25 Among NFL Backup Quarterbacks
rmoneyg35 replied to KatsAzz's topic in Carolina Panthers
How you know? For all we know he could be a good QB. How many times have we seen a 3rd string back up or undrafted qb end up doing well? There are lots of good QBs out there who just haven’t been given the chance. Yes Grier sucked in his little bit of playing time but there have been plenty of great QBs who were horrible their rookie year. I’m not saying Grier is going to be good but it’s possible. There’s a lot you just can’t know until you put someone on the field to play. -
Is Denzel Perryman the Carolina Panthers’ most underrated player?
rmoneyg35 replied to SBBlue's topic in Carolina Panthers
Maybe but he had 5 of those sacks in one game. He also didn’t record a single sack in 9 games. Maybe he’s a one hit wonder? I mean there is something up when a guy in his prime gets 12.5 sacks and can only get a one year 6 million dollar deal. I hope he is going to get better and repeat similar numbers but his size scares me and I don’t know how we are going to use him. -
Yes Brown is a beast but let’s be honest, you don’t draft a DT with the 7th pick to be a nose tackle, you get him to get to the QB. hopefully he will get more sacks this year. He got a lot of QBs pressures and with the signing of Daquan Jones maybe he will be freed up to get more sacks.

Positions likely to be addressed prioir to opening game
rmoneyg35 replied to 45catfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I don’t know if we move Moton to LT. Although this has always been my solution as well I think something is up because our staff won’t move him to LT. Could it be that we want to give him a RT contract first? I didn’t think he was that worse at LT but maybe I’m wrong. I’m actually okay with our safety and line backer Corp. our staff has basically said SS and FS are interchangeable on this defense and if you have a good pass rush it can offset a bad secondary. I think Burris is average to above average. I think I saw that he was rated top safety in the slot last year. im not worried about LB either because like you said we only played 4-3 in 10% of snaps last year. Our staff has made sure to get players who can play multiple positions. Reddick can play ROLB and DE. We also have Miller who still has potential after sitting out last year. It also seems to me that every year we get one or two UDFA linebackers that end up making the team so I believe we might find one or two for depth again this year. -
It’s practice and it’s raining.

Burns needs to work on his footwork!

Could Daley end up being the LT? Correct me if I’m wrong but didn’t he play well when playing LT before? Erving could also be the starting LT. Considering Daley’s injury history I think you should prepare for the worst. Christensen could also end up being the starting LT. I think Christensen and Daley will get the LT and LG spots. Miller may win the job because of experience but don’t be surprised if Brown or Moore wins a starting job. I also think Elfein is a dark horse candidate to be a starter.

Why not? I thought Yeldon put up good numbers just always put in bad situations. He can do everything.
