At least someone liked my first round mock draft pick
rmoneyg35 replied to Jeremy Igo's topic in Carolina Panthers
5 years from now I could see Jeremy take Mel Kiper Jr's job. Congrats on being posted on the panthers website though. -
I was thinking the same thing but I don't know what Williams ranking is among CBs. Does anyone want to post that info?
-
I wonder if they will go sign a running back out of free agency or draft one? To me it will be interesting to see what they do at RB.

Cody is a mystery to me. One game e has 20 points and 10 rebounds then the next he has 0 points. I want to say he is improving but his inconsistency scares me. I thought Kemba really improved this year and I have high hopes for his future. Hendo has proved he can be a solid player, maybe not a starter but at least a 6th man. Vonleh will take time to develop and I don't know if PJ can stay out of trouble long enough to become a good player in the nba. MKG is starting to really become a solid player and probably will be our best player on the roster. He is starting to shoot the ball more and has improved his jump shot. He already is a solid defensive player and when he isn't playing our team suffers.

I just don't know if we will be able to get Jake Fisher in the 2nd round. I have a feeling he could be taken in the first round or early second, way before we pick.

Brian Hartline and Chris Canty to be released
rmoneyg35 replied to Mr Mojo Risin's topic in Carolina Panthers
I can't believe he's only 29 I swear Hartline has been around a while it seems. He would be a solid 2 or 3 WR. I'm starting to wonder if we won't be able to find a pair of free agent WRs this offseason with all these cuts. -
FA player release recap (2-27-15)
rmoneyg35 replied to Leeroy Jenkins PhD's topic in Carolina Panthers
I wonder if the dolphins will draft a WR in the first round? With Wallace on the trade block and and Hartline and Gibson cut we could see another WR taken off the board before we pick. -
Panthers NFL Draft Prospect - Justin Coleman
rmoneyg35 replied to Jeremy Igo's topic in Carolina Panthers
I believe CB is a great position for us to go after in later rounds rather than use a top pick or sign a free agent CB.- 34 replies

Ted Ginn leaning towards going home to Cleveland
rmoneyg35 replied to nctarheel0619's topic in Carolina Panthers
I have been looking at punt return possibilities from the free agent list on NFL.com. One man who we should look at if we can't sign Ginn is Leon Washington. Leon Washington has a career punt return average of 9.9 per return. He could also be our #3/4 Rb and could be a decent receiver out of the backfield. -
Ted Ginn leaning towards going home to Cleveland
rmoneyg35 replied to nctarheel0619's topic in Carolina Panthers
Ginn isn't the only good return man on the market so calm down. There is Spiller, Dwayne Harris, Jacoby Jones, Eddie Royal, Cecil Shorts, and I believe Josh Cribbs are are all free agents that are available for a decent price. Randall Cobb and Jeremy Maclin are guys who are going to cost a lot and are probably out of our league but are available as well. Not to mention there will be some guys who we could draft who could be good punt returners but there is a big risk with having a rookie returning punts. Also never forget the old phrase " The Answer is already on the roster." -
I would rather sign a few mid level tackles and/ or draft a tackle rather than sign a big name and have a lot of money invested into an offensive linemen. Oher would provide depth and experience if not starting material .
-
We could probably sign him for a cheap price. If we draft a tackle and he isn't ready to start then Oher can be a stop gap until our draft pick is ready. There is always a chance he turns things around and actually plays well as a starter. Unlike Bell he has had a decent history at left tackle and injuries could of played a part in his poor play last season. If we can sign him cheap it will be worth the chance.
-
Bush has improved as a rusher but still has injury problems. We already released one injury riddled Rb so I don't see us signing one to replace him. Although I do believe Bush has plenty of years left I just don't see him playing a full season.
-
No one will be willing to trade for him when we already know that he will be released and signed for a lot less money. Wallace is a good WR but just not worth that price.

Is 'BPA, or be damned' a flaw with Gettleman's draft philosophy?

Britt wasn't that good in pass protection. -
Does Carolina Pass up on Offensive Tackle at 25?
rmoneyg35 replied to Bj-Monster23's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think a lot of major mistakes teams make when it comes to drafting offensive linemen is that they pick measurables, physical traits over technique and skill. Amini would be a prime example where as Norwell was probably overlooked because he didn't have eye piping measurables. When we first signed Norwell i researched him and found he was a 2 time first team all big ten conference offensive linemen. He started 39 consecutive games and could play tackle and guard. I couldn't understand how a guy from Ohio state, one of the top football programs in the nation could be overlooked with that kind of resume. So when Norwell started at left guard it shouldn't of been a suprise that he played well, after all he has been playing LG against top talent for years. -
Does Carolina Pass up on Offensive Tackle at 25?
rmoneyg35 replied to Bj-Monster23's topic in Carolina Panthers
This guy is starting to get a lot of hype. I keep reading he could end up being a 1st round pick. I read he played well against top SEC competition. I believe he could be more pro ready than Clemmings. Both of those tackles struggled according to pff stats and Mathews was ranked at the very bottom of the list of tackles this season. Mathews was a can't miss prospect that was the son of one of the best offensive linemen of all time. Now I know you shouldn't consider someone a bust after one season but you would expect more from a top 10 pick. -
I recently found the rankings of best and worst players of the year and glad to see no panthers on the worst but one on the best which was Luke. Here's the link, enjoy http://www.reddit.com/r/nfl/comments/2qpian/final_ranking_the_best_and_worst_players_in_the/

Does Carolina Pass up on Offensive Tackle at 25?
rmoneyg35 replied to Bj-Monster23's topic in Carolina Panthers
Collins is my top choice. Flowers would be my second. While I wouldn't mind the Panthers drafting TJ Clemmings, 1st round would be a reach IMO. He probably wouldn't start and we need our 1st rounder to be a starter. I feel there are plenty of mid round guys that could be future starters if we don't draft a tackle in the first. -
DGB Considered "Best WR to Come Out since Calvin Johnson."
rmoneyg35 replied to nctarheel0619's topic in Carolina Panthers
If we do draft him I believe it will have to be in the second round not first. He has too many concerns to be a 1st round pick after the "Ray Rice" era. I wouldn't be against drafting him but I wonder how our organization feels about him. -
Bargain Free Agent: WR Denarius Moore
rmoneyg35 replied to gettlemanjack's topic in Carolina Panthers
Moore is a better receiver? Younger? -
Are we picking a player from one season or overall? Because some of these players had good careers but just bad 1 bad season with us. I also believe players like Jeremy Bridges, Keydrick Vincent and Mackenzie Bernardeau were decent players for us and we have had way worse. Safety seems like our worst position with guys like Shawn Williams, Deke Cooper, Colin Branch, Thomas Decoud, and Ron Harper was pretty bad until the end of the season. I also thought Ron Edwards got hurt and never played for us, or maybe he played two games before he got hurt.
