Ioannidis is pretty good so I’m happy with him as a starter. Nixon has looked like he has potential so if a starter gets injured he might could step up. Brown hasn’t lived up to expectations but is young enough to turn it around. Roy Sucks but he went to baylor so Rhule is loyal to him. I would love to sign/draft a back up but I think we are set at DT. Honestly I’m more worried about DE. Burns and YGM look to be the starters. YGM is young and unproven. We also have Haynes who’s played well in limited action but has been a career backup. We need a good DE in my opinion.
-
I’ve always felt that Haynes should be given a shot. He’s played well in the little bit of time he’s been given. Both he and Luvu had good PFF grades. YGM I guess is going to be the starter by default? He has potential but needs to stay healthy.

It’s hard for a rookie qb to do well when they have a incompetent coach who had no NFL experience. Add the fact his team wasn’t that good and probably wasn’t motivated and you are going to suck.

Well CMC just reworked his contract, I think about 5 million was freed up. A few other players reworked their contract too so I think that’s a big reason for the cap room. Don’t forget we also cut Bouye and Fox. Honestly I would rather us tank this year because right now even with all the signings we are at best. A 7 win team. Would you rather have a competitive team that won’t make the playoffs or a bad team that will get a top pick? If we aren’t a playoff team then in my opinion we should tank and try to get the best players available.

Kenny Pickett > Malik Willis (at least for us)

Russell Wilson was a third round pick and look how he turned out. Brady a 6th. In the end you don’t know if someone is going to be good or a bust until they play. -

So you know more than NFL scouts and teams? -

Plenty of good QBs wear/worn gloves. Peyton Manning, Brady, Matt Ryan won the MVP wearing a glove, Big Ben just to name a few. Wearing a glove doesn’t matter. -
I’m actually glad. If we would have traded for Watson it still wouldn’t have changed the fact our team has many holes to fill and a bad coach. We would end up trading 2 players which would make even more holes. We wouldn’t have any top draft picks to fill those holes over the next 3 years. Watson barley had a winning record, you think he would get us over the hill? We wouldn’t be super bowl contenders and we have a coaching staff that isn’t going to develop talent or have top free agents wanting to come here. This isn’t like what the rams did, they already had a good roster and was a top FA destination when they traded for Stafford. Broncos have a solid team as well and had lots of cap space to sign more talent. So if anything we might have been a borderline playoff team if we got Watson but never good enough to win a Super Bowl. Now we can keep our draft picks and build a team with them and then hopefully either draft a good QB or trade for one in the future.

I think he would put up good numbers if he was just given the reps.

I mean we did go to two Super Bowls under Richardson. we haven’t even had one winning season under Tepper.

Well who on our defense is really young and good? Shaq is probably our best D player. Chinn was good at linebacker but it remains to be seen how good he is at safety. Brown looks like a bust so far, he hasn’t lived up to expectations at all and isn’t worth a contract extension. Burns is probably our second best defensive player but has yet to get over 10 sacks and isn’t that good in the run probably because of his size. He’s going to demand a big payday soon, would you give a big pay day to a defensive end that can’t get 10 sacks and it seems can only rush the passer? Joe Horn looks like the real deal although we haven’t seen a lot of him. The injury is a cause for concern but it’s possible he will be fine. The rest of the defense is a bunch of average players. I wouldn’t mind trading burns now before he demands a big contract. I just don’t see him being worth the money he is going to demand.
-
I would be okay with trading Brown. He hasn’t been that good and isn’t living up to the expectations. I wouldn’t trade Horn. I might Trade Chinn. I would Trade Burns. Problem is they want that and the draft picks. Sorry but no. If we could trade McCaffrey it would free up a lot of room to sign free agents to fill the holes. If we give up all those draft picks then free agency is the only way to fill our roster with Top talent next year. Personally I think we have too many holes to give up 3 first round picks for Watson. Sure we would probably be a playoff team but borderline playoff team.

Tepper hired a private investigator to look into Deshaun Watson
rmoneyg35 replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
Plenty of people would know, people talk, you have people who work for the panthers, people who associate with the private investigator and people who the private investigator has contacted who could have talked. I mean it makes sense for Tepper to do this if he’s serious about getting Watson. You want to know everything you can before trading for him. -
Carter had potential, he played well as a back up but this year he sucked. Good back up, that’s it. I know Luvu had great PFF scores and did well but only in limited time. Would he be as good if he was full time or is he only a good situational player?
-
Assuming they don’t trade any players and only give up their draft picks. I don’t know how their cap situation is but if they can sign a few good players to upgrade their team then I think they can be a Super Bowl team. I could be wrong but doesn’t their offensive line suck?
-
I wouldn’t be surprised if Seahawks don’t trade for a top QB and end up taking this season so they can get a top pick and get a franchise QB.
-
If the Steelers got him then they would be great, depending on what they would give up. I mean look how good they were with an average Qb. I mean Big Ben isn’t the great Qb he used to be.
-
If we get him it has to be a mid round pick. Honestly I don’t want him but I guess he has potential, he needs a good coaching staff and I just don’t think we have the team to develop him.

Judging from Fitt's Comments, Reddick isn't coming back.
rmoneyg35 replied to Proudiddy's topic in Carolina Panthers
There is a reason why he only was able to make a million a year after a 12 sack season. Yeah he gets sacks but he isn’t good at much else. He’s small too and isn’t an ideal DE. He’s basically a one trick pony. -
Could we really pick something other than QB or o-line at 6?
rmoneyg35 replied to Verge's topic in Carolina Panthers
I mean we have the former Seahawks guy as our GM, maybe he wants to build a nice backfield like the Super Bowl winning Seahawks? Add a good safety to put with Horn and the other guys, Chinn improves or goes back to LB and we could end up with a good defense. -
BREAKING NEWS Deshaun Watson now willing to be traded to CAROLINA
rmoneyg35 replied to Woot's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yup, I think we can get him cheaper, I mean what is Houston just going to sit him until they get 3 1st rounders? No, each season he’s away from the nfl he looses value. worst case scenario he gets what some sexual harassment charges? Let’s also be honest for those who are acting all morally superior, this poo happens all the time but it’s swept under the rug because people get paid off or people help cover it up. -
I heard someone try to defend this by saying he’s a great blocker and will help our pass and run blocking. To that I say is that worth paying him top 16 TE money? No. We just drafted Tremble who supposed to be a great blocker and should have more potential. This also takes away money from other free agents.
